    pretty sure the VW studs only go a certain distance (up to shank) into thehead anyways, so those ones should be fine. Are they the correct pitch? did the ad say they would fit a VR head? VAG onesmight be a good idea if you're unsure as you know they will be spot on. 2p.

    No probs I will change it now. Jay, ram should work fine, but may not work at 800mhz unless your board supports it (if you go looking it will report as 400mhz due to the double data rate)

    We still talking about carrier pins or crotches? I'm guessing they are different to early 16v ones else I have 3.5 shítloads of them you can have.

    I'm sure you could rewire the switch to trigger the lazy bulbs Kev. I am beyond shíte at electronics though so i'll leave the diagrams for someone else!

    and compressor and socket and...and...and...! I have one of these bad boys: it's good for easier 7mm bolts and you can stick a pipe over the end to do suspension top mounts. They're only a few quid now by the looks of things. Made by Sykes-Pickavant.

    if you could get a clear picture of the sticker that has all the info on that would be best. Yeah it's 240 pin, but yours might not be DDR (Double Data Rate). Sticker should have a part number on which would help immmensely.

    A dead CV would make more like a drumming or knocking noise. A bearing makes more of a wob....wob....wob....wob..wob..wob..wob wob wob noise getting quicker with speed. Might also sound like a drone.

    Yeah, ditto PAS cooler pipes on my panel also. But mine is a derivative part number of what is on the car (letter change at end of number IIRC) so may be from a late 16v. The one which doesn't have holes in will be a mk2 Golf/ Jetta one. The parts are identical apart from little changes like that (although don't use a mk2 golf subframe).

    Easypops, will probs fit that board. Jay, it should fit that board. I haven't been able to find concrete evidence though. I don't like Pre-packaged machines like Dell etc :/

    "memory installed 256MB-533MHz DDR2-533 PC2-4200" and your board only goes up to 2GB. so your ram is 533Mhz and this is 800mhz. Your motherboard may not be able to run it at 800mhz, but it should be able to downclock it to 533 (run it slower than it was designed for). tbh, you'd probably benefit more from a chip and board upgrade than sticking fast ram in an old board. The RAM will be waiting for the CPU to catch up! my 2p.

    I have all the wiring diagrams you need for early looms. Let me know and I'll send them over. Think beige sent them to me about 2 years ago. Still not gotten round to it as most of my dash loom is shot to hell.

    I had one touch closure on a mk2 golf, so I can't see that it's a very new thing. Pretty sure the relay is late only, but hey it's only a relay. Anyone could stick it in!

    tbh, I very highly doubt it will be compatible. Pentium 4s are old technology now, DDR2 800 ram is about one generation old roughly. Unless you have a newish motherboard running a very old processor Jay, I don't think this is the ram for you. But do check anyways, it's about 50% of current retail price so worth a quick nosey. If you have Dell or pre-built desktop, stick up the name and model and I will happily check for you. As i said though P4s are old hat these days :/

    Yeah please keep it open. I wasn't too sure your motherboard would accept that chip after you said it was a Pentium 4! that's a couple of generations back now. JayGT, Walesy had 2nd dibs on RAM I think. Mods??? What happens when the OP has sold items, is it up to new owner (JMC) to decide who gets dibs? p.s. Yeah, inbox thing still messed up. I've deleted 100+ from my inbox and sent :/

    I keep getting emails saying a certain member is trying to PM me but my inbox is full. Deleted over 100 old PMs and still getting same email, saying their PM isn't able to reach me. Any ideas?
