  1. how soon can you bring it? I just remembered I need a spare engine stand, and the jack on my crane has given up :/ been a couple of years since I used it.
  2. Cowley, quite close to rose hill / littlemore roundabout on the ring road.
  3. what are your delivery rates?
  4. wanted dead or alive: VR6 oil filter housing assembly, engine block (pref with crank) [would need this delivered], oil pump, only needed to get measurements from, so a lend would be ideal! Cheers :D
  5. I like it, but I'd have disagree with you on the UR front.
  6. as long as you use the correct bolt thread and pitch, you can attach whatever hooks you want on there.
  7. CAD machine cut.... LOL! I'll just cut some plastic panels using my computer..... :D I think he means CNC....
  8. Why are you checking timing at all? I thought all you did was bodge two different manifolds together?
  9. Wouldn't this be better off in the blown VR thread, or has that gone with the old forum?
  10. why did you use half of each manifold?
  11. yeah mk2 golf will be identical. Do yourself a favour and grab the haynes, and also the bentley if you have the chance.
  12. Yeah I guess they will be late spec wings. Oh well. I guess you will be constantly hassling me to get a 3-bar grille now! :D ha ha
  13. Not sure if you know, but belts should be tightened up enough so that you can pinch the middle and twist it sideways by 90 degrees. Any more and it's too slack. The pump will probably whine when stationary as it's having to work harder than when the wheels are rolling. See what it feels like on full lock. If it squeals, it needs to be tighter.
  14. The corrado is a lot of Mk2 golf underneath so you should be fine if you've done your own maintenance in the past. I'm sure those who are local to you will post up soon enough, or try searching the forum for Staffordshire etc. Finally, welcome to the mad house :D
  15. Oh, is that helious? I thought helious was much more like navy blue pearl a la mk2.
  16. it's pointing down towards the front of the car, at the front side of the engine. If you scour my old dusty thread, you might find some useful pics.
  17. Neither of you are right. You don't need to take the wheel off to do a belt ffs!! Buy yourself the Mk2 Golf Haynes manual....all the running gear is the same and it will show you how to do belts and other simple tasks :D
  18. the PAS belt is easy. Look at the bracket the PAS pump sits on. There should be a screw you use to adjust the belt tightness. Just undo this all the way and take the PAS belt off, and then the alternator one. Tada!
  19. I know Prodigal's hasn't moved in about a year, but I doubt he is willing to let it go anytime soon! I am yet to find many other Dark Burgundy's about so I feel your pain.
  20. Is there data out yet to prove how strong the DSG boxes are? more moving parts means more to go wrong, and could be a weakness for a high-power racing application...I don't care if it can swap a cog before I can blink! :D
  21. I'm surprised that a power cable was even able to scratch paint! Was it resprayed with 2-pack or the newer useless water based stuff 18 months ago?
  22. Wow, i'd love to see a C in helious blue. Is it deffo that colour as that's from a mk2 golf. Sounds like a good build!
  23. I have problems in life running IE let alone on the forum. Dukest mentioned to someone else to PM him if they weren't able to change their thread title - is this a known issue? Seemed so simple before.
  24. Is there any way I can change the title of my Project Plum thread so it's not talking about insurance dilemmas now? On CF 1.0, I would just change my initial post title from February 2008 and all was well, but that doesn't seem to work here. Thanks.
  25. well Prodigal's inner wing says "HECHA EN MEXICO" and checking my VIN online, it states it was made in Wolfsburg but I guess others could be made in Spain :)
