  1. Second on the CP sensor. Had exactly the same issue on mine.
  2. Wouldn't bother with a dremmel unless you want to be there for a fortnight. If they're for everyday use I'd shy away from polished (a fortnight into winter and you'll realise what I mean). I did the same on some RH cups many moons ago. Painted the rims/dishes MB brilliant silver, masked off the centers and painted them gloss black. They looked awesome. Polishing is an artform to get right, but there's no harm in painting them yourself (did my Borbets myself). If you're dead set on polishing, then it's a case of : Lots of wet and dry paper Lots of Autosol and clean rags Lots of elbow grease Don't use wire wool as the fibres can get stuck in the alloy and start to rust. Maybe have a practise on one and take it from there ?
  3. First check for me would be fuel to the rail. That would rule out the fuel relay and/or pump ( and seeing as you bumped it, suggests that it isn't an immobiliser issue ). Followed by ignition switch ? For £27 (genuine) it might be worth changing it either way. Not saying this is a cure, but it rules out a couple of things first. As above, is it 2E or ADY engine code ?
  4. Boo hiss. But on the flip side, so long as you've enjoyed your time together, then everything else fades away. Best of luck with the sale (of a great storm).
  5. From experience, neither. The ride on standard suspension is great. If ride quality doesn't bother you then go for it.
  6. I've literally just finished watching my pre-recorded copy this too Eric. How bizarre ! I agree with your closing remark. It's hard to get accross to the kids at school the importance of engineering. They're all surrounded by clock watching office monkeys so they see that as the accepted career choice. But when you have such levels of institutionalized incompetance coupled with an out dated desire to hang on to class, it's no wonder there's been such a massive decline in manufacturing and engineering. That said, we have some really good, forward thinking kids. I just wish there was more opportunities for them down the line.
  7. Yet again Tatton exceeds on all counts. We pitched up, had some breakfast, had a polish, autojumble and stalls, had dinner, then the afternoon walkabout. Felt like I spent about half an hour on the stand, to the point where when we came back it was a case of last man standing. The stand looked great and the standard of Corrados around the show will no doubt encourage new owners into the fold. Kudos to all involved. Especially to the organisers for creating such an entertaining show for all the family.
  8. Black screw caps for the door cards and the top of the a-post trim.
  9. Generally speaking, Silver does nothing for me on most cars. Seeing another great Corrado in silver today confirmed that it's now up there with the best colours ! (Damn I regret not buying that silver one twelve months ago). Anyway, back on topic. Welcome back, great car ( Recaro, lowered and BBS RZ so job done on the styling mods )and we need to see more...
  10. Welcome aboard, and great choice of Corrado. Make sure to start an owners thread as we respond well to pictures round ere'.
  11. New players showing excellent early form and Wigan top of the league ( okay it is only the first day ). Just needed notlob to get stuffed, but I guess I shouldn't be so greedy. Be nice to see Wigan early on the football league show for a change, rather than last on MOTD.
  12. Gunk and boiling water on the real greasy stuff are what I've used with good results. On the dusty, less oily bits I use an all purpose cleaner. Finishing it all off with a wipe over with AG tyre dressing. That's just a basic method, but it Depends how far you want to go. I tend to stay away from Detailing World though, because it gives me a headache whenever I look for advice.
  13. Team : Wigan Athletic - Supported the Tic's for about twenty two years. Followed them from Brighton and Stockport on a Tuesday night, up to a certain 2013 FA cup final delight. This season? : Certainly wouldn't like to put money on the toughest league in the country, but I would like to think that top six is more than achieveable. Would like to stick my neck out and say top two with the signings we've made, but we still only have a small team, and six extra European games to play. Game youre looking forward to? : Bournemouth away as it's a new ground for me. But the main attention has to be the European group stages. Be it we end up with Valencia or Derry City, I'm tres' excited all the same. Players? : Grant Holt is a great signing for the championship and Fortune is already showing great form pre-season. Mcmanaman, Boyce and Carson being my other key players. Just need some more pound notes to pay for it all !
  14. I've never used them myself but these chaps seem to be at the NEC classic every year. I've had a look at their work and it is very good indeed. http://www.redditchshotblasting.co.uk/
  15. If it's a VR6 then try here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=82485
  16. Good man. If they come out well, then I'll have them. Along with the drivers side window regulator, and the dash ash tray with fitting. Thanks, James
  17. What shape are the window scrapers in pal ? Pictures would help me out. Email if it's easier : [email protected] Thanks in advance, James
  18. In the past week I've done nearly 700 miles. Harrogate, Edinburgh, South Lakes. Didn't expect to see any Corrados, but one (very clean example ) rolled past me in the centre of Edinburgh. To say I was chuffed is an understatement. The car performed faultlessly along some of the best driving roads I have have ever been on. An absolute joy to behold. And the MPG, well that seemed to wobble around the 45 to 47 mark. So for all those who think the Corrado is a poor relation in the VW household, I shake my head in your general direction. And all this fun in what some also consider the poor relation within the Corrado family. All hail the mighty eight valve !
  19. Just landed in Edinburgh and spotted a moonlight blue some thing or an other, whilst I was parked up outside the scotish malt whisky building. First real spot I've had in donkeys years. Mint as you like condition. Hope he or she spotted me. Not had one in nearly ten years. Only just made the comment to Jo about not having a spot. Need a sit down and a pint now ! ---------- Post added at 3:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 3:27 PM ---------- Just landed in Edinburgh and spotted a moonlight blue some thing or an other, whilst I was parked up outside the scotish malt whisky building. 20. I did the bolt through mod last year Jim ( after a similar conversation with Jay Renshaw at Tatton Park) and it helped a lot. I then tightened the rack adjustment bolt an 10th of a turn and sure as damn it the steering feel of the car is worlds apart from what it was eighteen months ago. I even considered selling it, it was frustrating me that much. After a laser alignment treatment and a whole new front end, we are in love again. It's like we renewed our vows all over again. Out of curiosity though. Is there a fail rate/measurement ? Or is it down to the tester ? The reason I ask is that if the tester is really going for it then the wheel will flex. Nothing to with wear.
  21. This thread popped up a couple of years ago. With some eye watering results !
  22. This seller seems to have one (if not more): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Corrado-2-9-Hatchback-VR6-Storm-breaking-breaking-/220917365026?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item336fb37922 What colours yours then ? Don't see many round this part of the world.
  23. KW coils and Magnex stainless systems always seem to be praised alot. Can't really comment though, seeing as how standard mine is. Good to hear that there's another one in the county. Where abouts are you ?
  24. It was, but hadn't seen it for a while. Here's the thread from the last time it popped up on my radar: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=45555&highlight=Wag
