  1. Post number 27: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=52860&page=3&highlight=Radio%20CDX600DSP
  2. I'd put money on it: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=82624
  3. Poor quality image, but you get the idea and orientation.
  4. Underside of the bonnet. Masked mine off (couldn't remove it and didn't want to risk not being able to get another) when it had full paint. I can put a picture up to give you an idea of position if you like ?
  5. Hello again. Think you "spotted" me in Mere Brow about ten years back(thought I remembered the user name). Get it kept. They're not fetching much money in great condition anyway. And shame on you for mentioning the "scrap" word. Give it a wash and a little love and I'm sure the Mrs will forget all about it. Put VCDS on it and take it from there I say.
  6. Don't need the locking mechanism, just the small black plastic plug that hooks onto the end of the locking rod.
  7. Goody gum drops. I'll have the tank/exhaust shield for a tenner please Dave. Will need it posted if that's okay. What I really need is one of these: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=corrado+fuel+flap+lock&client=safari&hl=en&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=vCcdUvjANqK30QXo9IHIAg&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAA&biw=1024&bih=672#biv=i%7C7%3Bd%7CG7BmR4giMvHGJM%3A Broke mine and now it's holding up the tank going back on. It fits in the body( where the flap locks ). Let me know what you can do.
  8. Are you after the one at a tenner or fifteen ? Only ask as I could do with the one at a tenner and didn't want to step on your toes.
  9. I'd be looking at the thin foam flap seals causing the resistance, and whilst in there, add a few drops of teflon lube into the cable outer.
  10. Just the campaign. And even that is an almost diy job. Sunvisors are trimmed in the same material as the headlining (the mirrors are underneath). Switch surround, clips/brackets/trim are painted black and the interior light cluster must be from either a Golf or Passat. I'll chuck some pictures up if I get the chance. But coming from a grey interior, it don't arf make it feel dark in there !
  11. Sounds like the pump. P/S only operates under 30mph, hence the issue at slow speed.
  12. Hi Nick Which 8v engine is it ? (either 2e or ADY) The engines were used in a whole range of Seats or VWs so there's always a solution somewhere. Check all the pipes for splits and that they're seated properly first. After that maybe clean out the throttle body and/ or MAF. Do all the free stuff first, before splashing out on new bits. This Mk3 guide may help: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=101400.0 Let us know how you get on. PS: chuck a couple of pictures up for us as well.
  13. You've made me feel slightly more at ease, thanks. I was one of those that watched "Gasland" about three/four years ago and remember saying "thank god that doesn't go on over here". But being the realist, appreciated that this process eventually would wash up on our shores. My main concern was the fracking fluid entering the eco system. But if what you say is true about organic based fluids and a maintained distance from the surrounding water table then my concerns are greatly reduced. Done in the correct manner then this should not pose a massive issue for us or Mother earth. So long as it is done in the correct manner.
  14. Driving home early evening last week. Sunroof open, windows down type of weather. Passed a couple of late twenties cyclists at a slow pace into a corner. One of them shouts to the other: "wow, look at that... A Corrado" We chuckled and drove on with glee. That'll keep me going for another six months !

Okay it's not OE correct, but with a little fettling MK2 Golf badges fit. Unless you get up real close you wouldn't notice. You can be sure the 8V and Campaign have them. You've got to freekin' high to stump up that kind of money.
  16. White 16v on a drive near Kew roundabout, Southport. It's been there for years. And at one point (about ten years ago) was for sale. Really want to rescue it and show it some love, but fear it may be too far gone now.
  17. He's still going well thanks Ben. Just basic maintainence to keep him ticking over. Got some new rear discs and bearings to go on soon as one of them has a bit of a rumble. Shame about the welding underneath, but it is very minor. I'll be giving the underneath a full hit next year as there's half a dozen rust developments underneath that I want to catch before they blossom. At the moment it seems to be a medium fix every other month, but when I ofset the value of the car against the cost of the repairs, it's hardly worth worrying about. Good to hear of another sailing through. Bravo !
  18. Mine got KB'd yesterday. Needs a small weld underneath, near the rear seatbelt mounts and the rear outer flexi brake hoses replacing. Not a dear do by any stretch, but a frustration as it sailed through the last two years without even an advisory. Result on the ABS light. DavidWort had only asked the question last week about some kind of timer/capcitor mod on the ABS bulb. And the chip could probably be covered on your insurance without cost if you're lucky. It's a relief when you run one as a daily !
  19. 93 seemed to be the changeover. My 93 16v had them. The 92 VR6 has them. The 96 8v doesn't. Shame as it's another unique Corrado part I could do with for the Campaign. Guess even for the lucky few with a "money no object restoration" project/budget even their snookered. Unless Classic parts DE kick start production, the restoration road ahead looks like a heavily refurbished, make do or mend one !
  20. Lodge an dispute on Paypal. Put their name in the Bad salesman thread.

Don't let the South American drugs cartells hear about this. Twelve months from now the streets will be awash with cheap smuggled un-licensed trim. Lots of middle aged Corrado drivers, hanging round street corners needing a fix. The hacks at the Daily (hate) Mail will have a field day.
  22. I meant that if I personally were doing the work, and not putting it through the insurance. What I was trying to get at was that the parts are available (all be it second hand) so don't let them write it off or low ball you on a salvage price. Regarding any repair quote, it's the labour that'll make the quote go through the roof, hence why I say "doing it myself". Sorry but having two Corrados is enough of a battle for me, without taking on a third. Though we're always around for the odd question.
  23. Hope you and the family are alright. A collision at any speed is not an enjoyable experience. The car though doesn't seem that bad. Second hand door. Rear quarter and sill look like they could be pulled out, filled and painted. New wheel, or wheels if you can't get one. New hub, bearing, shock, topmount. Hopefully it hasn't damaged the rear beam, but even if it has, you could one of these easily and cheaply enough. Chance to change the rear bushes at the same time. Labour and paint. If I was doing it I reckon about £1000 max (and that's worst case scenario). Using Febi parts and budgeting for OE wheels and a second hand door/beam. There could be other hidden issues underneath, but on the surface it doesn't seem too bad. It could have been a lot worse.
  24. Forgot to mention that another known weak spot on this engine is the ignition coil. But try Cazzas tweak first as it's the cheapest !
  25. Second on the CP sensor. Had exactly the same issue on mine.
