I've just bought a Febi one from ebay seller "tierod69" (use them quite a bit). The quality looks good so far. Though to be fair it's fitted to the restoration project, so probably won't see any rain. For that reason, £26 delivered was the right kind of money.

That's a job I don't miss. Heat shields look the part though. And good progress to boot. Tres bon.

Awesome. Makes me want my first white 16v back.

Yep, we're on about the same ones. I've used small grommets before today. Let me know if the russian has any spares ?

What a wonderful introduction to your car Jeff. I hope it gives you miles of pleasure. Out of interest is the car a 2E or ADY engine car ? In answer to your questions. The warning triangle mounts almost upright against the bracket in your boot. Whilst the first aid kit sits inside the bracket, with the strap pulling it in. The front foot trim did have plugs from the factory, but they are obsolete from VW UK (I must check classic parts Germany stock at some point). OE carpet mat sets pop up on ebay from time to time, so maybe set a saved search. Or swing by your dealer for more info. Sorry, can't get on Vagcat at the moment.

BBS RM for the win.

Ledsons, off Wallgate (left before you go under Wallgate bridge) is good (and cheap) for all your rattle can needs. I get all mine from there. Wouldn't go anywhere else if I'm honest. Every time I hear the name of that organisation I vomit in my mouth... ...and think of this:

The Corrado world is alarmingly small, and getting smaller by the day. Basically I'd lose the wheels, eye brow and exhaust. But then again it is your car after all, and I have a penchant for all things standard. What are the mechanicals like ?

Loving the carbon "Style" panels. Kind of beginning to regret blowing all that money on a paint job now. Carbon Campaign Corrado has a certain ring to it ! Reminds me of the time a pal of mine bought an early 90's Mazda. it was wearing a leather hat and dressed in hearing aid beige. By tea time we'd given it a brace of coats in black trade gloss with three inch brushes. He seemed to like the fact that some of the car had brush strokes peeking through. Oh, and if you dare paint the wheels orange (or similar) I'll dis-own you ! Rattle can Satin black for the win.

Welcome aboard. The car has been through these doors before. Glad you brought it back. What's the plan then ? There's some serious 90's period features going there !
-
And I thought it was just me who gets rain and snow whenever I mention working on the car ! Nice updates.

I've always enjoyed mixed marque shows over just VW shows, so maybe this is a step in the right direction. Though for me, there's never enough standard cars. Always good to see VWs getting the care they deserve. Any more photos peeps ?

I had this happen to me many years ago in my early days of Corrado ownership, about half a mile from where I live. Foolishly rushed putting my wheels back on and hadn't tightened one side enough ( RH alloy spacers and 9 inch wide RH cups on the front didn't help ). Got to the top of the road and bang. Similar situation. Like you say though, doesn't bear thinking about what could have happened. Hope it all works out.

Must have missed that Bentley technical update !

Shaun Ryder (Happy Mondays/Black grape) owned a Corrado !

I'd be more inclined to check inside the horn push for any "pills, thrills and bellyaches". I'll get my coat... By the way, we need a picture ! -
Doesn't look like it. From what I read in many a for sale advert, a combination of being blind to the truth and a lack of prior research are the usual contributing factors into short term ownership. Whilst to others, it's another box ticked and then back to something more modern/comfortable.

I keep leaving my lights on,!!! Help me Out.
James. replied to Michael'durham''s topic in ICE 'n' Secure
I've wired a lights on buzzer into all my Corrados (past and present) to overcome this annoyance. Simple buzzer from maplin etc, wired into the converience light and light switch. Door opens with lights on and you'll be the first to know. Just don't ask me to remember what colour the wires were ! -
Works well with the black carpets. And I'm sure it's easier to maintain as well.

I've got the Scotts car. And yes you're right, numberplate dealer trim and boot sticker all present. But I'm more intrigued to hear from an ex- VW employee. Do you remember anything about the promotion. Any bumf sent out to dealers etc ? -
My beautiful G60, check out the millage :)

Jeez, I bet the guy was crying after that little shunt ( I know I would have been ). Great work on your part though. Love them in red. -
How about 16" wheels and a slight dish at the rear ? Though to be fair, I thought you had it nailed on with the D90's. It's all part of the game, chopping around wheels, trim and getting frustrated till something sticks.

Or you could get some badges and make your own Storm. Seems a few dealers did this back in the day. It'll just be our secret.

There seem to have been a raft broken up over the last 12 to 18 months. And at what they're selling for at the moment, I think most owners are holding on unless they really need to sell. I'm sure more will pop up closer to easter, when the summer 6 month tax owners decide to re-tax or move on.

Yeah the piston will just keep going till it falls out. Same on the fronts as well. I usually pop the fronts out with an airline. I used a soft tipped pick to get the seal out. The crust and rust that builds up around them seems to help hold them in.
