Looking to refinish the alloy parts I've removed from the engine bay. Do I paint them to get the right "as new" finish (If so which colour) ? Or do I do something else with them ? Don't want shiny, blingy bits in the bay. Manifold,Rocker cover etc all need doing. I suggest painting them as I don't want to be taking the car apart to do it again in a couple of years. Suggestions either by reply, postacard or back of a sealed down envelope please... Here's an example of where I am at now after a degrease and light wire brushing:

So does the galvanising replace the need for any kind of media blasting ? Even on original crusty units ??? Brakes will look mint when put on. Keen to see how you finish them off as it's next on my massseeeeff list of jobs.

Don't fret. They don't exist !

Belting news. Just in time for you to give me a hand with mine !!! Can't wait for a spin in this.

Good man. How much for delivery ? I've got a couple of other faffy bits I need so keep hold of the subframe. 1, Exhaust rubber. The one in front of the rear subframe (there's two next to each other). 2, Metal suspension top plate. I think I mis-described the suspension part I need. Not the top cap as I said before. 3, Bumper lower grill with tow eye covers I'll get back to you with some more shortly but keen to know if you have all the above.

Don't worry about it, like you said there are a few custom jobs out there so it's easy to be caught out. I wouldn't use spray mount as it's low tack and loses it's adhesive properties over time. Contact adhesive is the stuff you want. Material wise, find a low weight nylon material, as if you use material too heavy, it will start to sag.

VW didn't put a black headlining into production on the Corrado. Black fabric, contact adhesive and about an hours work should see you right though.

Paul at Ashley James interiors is your man (the chap who did my dash). I've seen the wheels he's done and I wouldn't go anywhere else. NB: Re-trimming a steering wheel is not cheap. 01257 476000 http://www.ashleyjamesautotrim.co.uk

Can be done but as you well know "at a cost". Gearbox, Pedal box, Trim to name a few parts Have a look at C488ADO s thread. He changed from Auto to Manual and added a guide as well. Personally I would/wouldn't change the gearbox based on use. I.e. If I was sat in traffic a lot, I'd keep the auto. If it was for leisure time/weekend use I'd have the manual.

Is it that percentage wise there are lots of Storms about. Or that because when one pops up for sale it's a case of "ooooh a Storm" and thus drowning out all other offerings ? A friend of mine who is involved with TIPEC (Porsche owners club) once quoted me a percentage figure of 911s built vs currently still in use. It seemed quite high, but then again I have no info on other performance marques to base it against. In a nutshell, what I'm trying to say is "I wonder what percentage of Storms (or Corrados in general for that matter) are left". There's always two or three being broken at any given moment, so where are we at this juncture in time ? and how do we find this info out ??? Any update Tom ??? you can email me if it's easier at [email protected] Thanks one again, James -
Correct. I believe it's referred to as a "gooseneck" tow bar. It was from my first 16v. But there's no reason you couldn't have a second bumper for times when not in use for lengths of time.

You're not alone. A low mileage blue storm popped up near me recently for handy money and I nearly dived in. How bad's the subframe ? I Need one [and wishbones] if it's fit for a refurb, should you wish to relinquish ownership ???
