  1. Thanks Andy I've felt like David Bailey today with all the shots I've taken. Fingers crossed with the result. I'm going to take my time to get it right though.
  2. They all pull from the inner cable. The three foam pieces slide over the cable outer.

On my last Corrado (93 2.0 16V), there was a thin rubber gasket that sat between the windscreen and the lower 3 piece scuttle cover. There isn't one on my current car (92 VR6). I'm yet to see one on another car and I can't find it on ETKA. It looked OE all day long, so was it a one off ? Or has anyone else seen one ?
  4. You should be able to use the passenger side one on the drivers side, so long as you remove the 6mm cable securing bolt.
  5. Started the engine and bay strip down yesterday. Got right stuck in and thankfully all the bolts came off in one piece. Though some naughty person has put a raft of almost rounded bolts back in the manifold at some point :nono: It was nice to spend a couple of days alone in the garage. With only myself, the odd brew and a clutch of LPs for company. Took my time and have really enjoyed it (thus far). Couldn't help but have a peek at the inner workings. A new rad support is needed methinks ! I knew that the US cars were made in Mexico but didn't know that some of the European cars parts are from there too (Maybe that can explain the high mileage  ) ! It was with great sadness that I learned of Gerry Raffertys very recent passing. Only the night before he left this world, I told to my partner that his music is not heard often enough. What more of a tribute than to enjoy his music (repeatedly) doing something I enjoy. Taking things apart and drinking colourful cups of earl grey. After inspecting the air con parts, it looks like the radiator and condenser are jiggered. Fortunately their not detrimental to the car being road worthy, so can put these on the back burner whilst I tackle all the other duties. And there's many...
  6. Must be in very good condition and delivered to Lancashire.
  7. Needs to be complete and includes the two tow eye covers.
  8. Need a new one of each. Where's best to get a new one from ? Are they specific or can I use other parts ? Thanks for the help in advance
  9. As far as I know, there isn't a clear answer. From research, I've been told that the closest match is Mercedes Brilliant silver. I'm yet to test this theory but have heard this from half a dozen people now.
  10. To be honest I was just thinking out loud when I mentioned the heater controls. There's no way I'd junk the original parts in favour of the later dials. The cables were really stiff when I first got the car, but after a light lubing when the dash was out they're now buttery smooth. Just had the green light from the board so will be able to attend BVF (subject to spaces). Don't mind people not knowing what it is. I know what it is and to be fair, a Corrado is somewhat of a rarity in these parts anyway. Just means it's an insurance group lower than a Storm !
  11. All great shows for the type you are interested in. Plus there is Stoner in early June down Reading / Henley way if that's not too far for you. (We have passed it by the last few years as time and petrol money have been short). And don't forget the CCGB National Day though the date and venue are yet to be decided. Talks are underway and it it likely to be South - South West midlands area. The national day goes without saying, as I was upset not to attend this year due to a poorly car. Reading Is do-able but I usually draw the line at about a two hour drive. It's all down to that commodity I have little of... ...Time
  12. Trying to keep the car as original as possible, but thanks for the offer. I feel guilty daring to put a non standard steering wheel on ! I agree that the later controls are easier on the eye but that's what VW intended so that's how it's staying (as long as it's in my ownership !). whats happening next mate...? what shows are you attending this year..?[/quote:6x7o40es] The cars taken a bit of a back seat recently as I've had a lot going on but hopefully should be able to start cleaning the engine bay in the next week. Hopefully should be able to clean/refurb a few more parts as well (brakes and suspension) but we'll have to wait and see if time allows. As for shows, I'm not too sure. Mainly due to me being quite new to the show scene and still finding out which ones are my kind of thing. I tend to enjoy the air/water mixed shows mostly. The Harewood house one looks a good one but I'm not too interested in those out and out modified shows. I feel a little out of place at those as I don't own a hoody or glow in the dark trainers. Yet to have a look at show dates so will probably weigh it up closer to the times. How about you. You earmarked any shows (Can't wait to see your car once the paint's all finished) ?

  14. Surprised you've any pages left  Are you going to refurb the engine and bay whilst the block is out ?[/quote:1xp1jpan] You mean Refurb the engine bay Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[/quote:1xp1jpan] Both. I've seen some clean and paint the block whilst it's apart. Looking at doing mine in the near future and thought it would be good to get some pointers first. All the best with it.
  15. Cheers. I was a little unsure at first but really wanted one. I've had about half a dozen people make the same comment so it helps alay my suitability concerns somewhat. Fitted an Airflow battery conditioner last week and so far has performed exactly as it says on the box. Getting stuck into the engine next week (though I've been saying this for the last four weeks)

  17. AJ-VR6 Good product and quick delivery. Would buy from again.
  18. Was nailed on for a 968 coupe but the numbers just didn't stack up. Must have spent months researching/buying material on the buggers, then jumped ship. There's just something about the rump of the 944 that makes me wrench. Belting car once you're sat in one though !
  19. N reg blackberry VR6 looking rather nice heading into Pwhelli on new years eve.
  20. Good show that man. Thought it would be an un-listed part as it would come under consumables but hey, thanks for the quick response
  21. I've obtained some new plastic bonnet securing pin guides and a safety catch piece that need riveting on to my slam panel. Would anyone know If I can get some of the black rivets from the dealer (each) rather than having to buy 300.000 a time from Wurth ? Or What size do I need and where do I get them from in black?
  22. I concur Jim. I thorougly enjoyed using mine as a daily late in the summer. That's why I may yet buy a second :D
  23. I plan to tax the car between April and September. Again to avoid the inclement weather and resultant road debris.
  24. 1 Favourite thread Mine of course... Originality thread. 2 Best show VW North West @ Tatton Park - My first time of showing a car and I was overwhelmed by the freindliness/helpfulness of all those I spoke with and met. 3 Favourite forum Corrado of 2010 (3 choices each) In no particular order C5 OEM (Andy) Butterfly (Judith) Bruny (Dave) 4 Best supplier (garage, services or parts etc) Ashley James interiors of Adlington. For obvious reasons if you've seen my thread. The work I've completed so far would have been very slow progress without the help from the threads past and present on this forum. I therefore would like to say a big thank you to all who run and post on this site and wish you all well for 2011.
  25. This happened to me a few weeks before I SORN'd it. It did get better as the days rolled on but I couldn't help but notice it was as the cold weather decended upon us. Keen to see how you get on.
