  1. Veearrhsix = Mechanical novice. I'm somewhat walking into these somewhat sarcy answers... I'll leave this thread alone for now.
  2. Could you give me another way of checking the camber?
  3. Suspension seems firm enough on all 4's (not spongy/not rock hard). Wheel alignment/camber doesn't seem out of the ordinary either (just like you said it should be davidwort) - however, gonna get it checked over soon... From reading certain threads on here recently, perhaps my left rear brake caliper has started to stick (Cheers dr_mat). All these things I'll add to the list for next month!. The heater matrix burst just before summer and needs replacing asap, as I'm scraping ice on the inside of my windscreen these days!
  4. Might be myth but anyone noticed differences in power from their C (VR6), when filling from different petrol brands? Got BP superunleaded in at the mo - more zippier than usual. I'm not really veering away from the thread as it still cost me £60+ to fill the damn thing! Same as a Porsche 911!
  5. It's got an MOT due at Christmas... Last service approx. 4 months ago - tightened the handbrake as rears were slipping (mechanic said brakes were V. good).
  6. Private messaging to K-rado about a month ago re. my C's handling. Veearrhsix: Basically it's about my Corrado. I don't know if it's a common thing but here it goes... It's happened a few times now but every time I go round a roundabout at a slow-ish speed the car loses grip and then I have to give it opposite lock in order to snake it back. Now could this be driver's error with not understanding the characteristics of this particular car, or do you think that there might be something wrong with my suspension or something? I just look a tit when I have to correct it. Hope you can help! Chris. P.S. I can't see why it could be a suspension fault tho...(Hadn't looked under the bonnet at this point.) K-rado: no expert, but could be a number of things including driver error, but if i were a betting man, assuming your tyres are good and the road not greasy and speed not excessive, i would say your suspension geometry is out. Corrado
  7. ...just wanna say it sounds quite clear that your heart's in for the VR6 ratios. Which makes sense. All modern cars can do incredible top speeds these days IMO. Bearing that in mind, on which UK roads can we really do these speeds on realistically? (someone's probably going to tell me :D ) ...So incredible acceleration is the logical step to take if I were you. If you're hesitating still, it's probably because you find it more exhilarating to thrash/hear a long-sounding rev range - having said that just VR6 it! It'll still sound just as good I reckon. :thumb right:
  8. ...you could add a hypnotic swirling effect like they have on the centre of jet engines for those airliners. But c*ck p*ss partridge now I'm talking b*llocks. :infinity:
  9. Hmmmmm... Put the black ones on again - personally, I liked the Porsche wheels you had on before. Anyhow, I'd put the black caps on again, as these others appear to look trippy-like, as if they're floating in the middle of the rims. Not good.
  10. What a beautifully immaculate engine bay you have! Nice gold touch on the top too! Though the whole car (the green one) is in another league (interior). Enough praise, I'll just feel ill with envy.
  11. TBH, my dad got a 911 after the C., and doesn't look back, but IMO, similarly to yours I'd say the C. has definitely got the legs on a 911 if set free. Re. Jap cars I retract my MGB comment and go for the RX7. It's just proportioned right visually - driving it tho... maybe another matter. But that's what I'd have if Japanese!
  12. Probably a well kept MGB with one of those Rover K series engines you find in an Elise stuffed into it. (Not modern is it... so doesn't count.)
  13. Woaah - someone's woofed down a couple of Boost bars 'ere...
  14. Will make a note of those wheels... will do very nicely on a red C.
  15. ...bout t' say - would look better lowered... that goes for mine too.
  16. Cheers Mystic Rado, just Google Mapped it, so it looks like I'll be doing a recky down there tomorrow me thinks. Talked to my dad earlier, and it turns out he used to get it serviced there! Pahhhh... family eh! Thanks for the link too :D
  17. I've had similar "problems". If I put a fuel additive in to the petrol it tends to perk it up a bit, but although I'm a novice to the VR6 C., it does seem spongy on the accelerator, and laggy at high 1,500 - 2,000 rpm, and the same at 5,000 + rpm. Who can I go to for a VR6 diagnostic in Manchester? - Where do all you guys go for the special Corrado care? Nice engine note though! :D P.S. from 70 - cough hundred cough ten mph, a BMW 1 series diesel something or other left me for dead on the M60 today. I felt so ashamed of myself. But I waved well done to him. Gutted with it's performance since buying it from my dad. Forgive the allegory, but the (my) Corrado was the porn star of it's day, that's still expected to deliver but just can't get it up anymore! :? It's a bugger. :elephant:
  18. Actually, that's the colour mine's gonna be going if I don't T-Cut it very soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
  19. Not for me personally, tho I'm not a roadster guy period. This convertible version of the Corrado tends to insult what it was all about IMO. Imagine it painted pink as well!
  20. 3:00 am Friday morning 5th Oct... blah, it happened again - I take back the previous post - they are tw@ts!
  21. Didn't think those Porsche wheels would suit the C. But they bloody do. However, they'd probably suit it more if they were chromed and the Porsche badges were replaced by VW ones. Just my opinion tho. Nice shapes in the wheels - I'm pondering at the mo on what alloys to get for mine. The trouble is I can't help thinking black Corrados look better, than in any other colour. Mine's red and so the choice of alloys will be more complicated. Right I'm beginning to ramble here, but I've noticed from looking at other cars in general, and C's, that the choice of aftermarket alloys plonked on to a car can either make the car the mut's nuts or the mut's dinner. Most of the time they don't work, but looking at those Porsche wheels you've got, I'd say a bit of tweaking and they'd win you many awards! Nice pics too - quite jealous actually, but like anything, these mods take time and money... I've only been on this forum for a few weeks so I'll say it before you mutter it; "Who is this guy?" :D
  22. Thanks for the nudge in the right direction! And yeah it is oil sweating down its sides cheesewire... I'll keep an eye on it tho. Rotrex it shall be CrazyDave - but not yet, as suspension shaking2: will be one of the first things to tally off my long long list.
  23. ...probably a bit of a hypocrite here, but when I got behind the wheel of my brother's E36, I became a complete speeding tw@t! So I have an empathy for those other Beemer tw@ts too. It's not their fault really. ...something about how the car communicated through me I recall - put me on edge. (might have been the gamma radiation tho)... :)
  24. I've only recently bought my C. & I've gotta admit disappointment is sinking in re. it's mid range power... Just like other members have commented - I'm wondering is a Rotrex turbo installation the ideal solution? And if so where do I go to get it installed (I live in Manchester)? While I'm at it, where could I go to get the engine reconditioned too? ...as I can see the head gasket's on it's early way out... Questions, questions, questions! Any comments would be appreciated! :)
  25. Well the way I see it so far is... we're all Corrado drivers right? Anyone who tailgates us are either: i). wondering what on earth we're driving [checking out the rear badges - that's if you haven't removed 'em], ii). provocative and had a bad day, iii). jealous and know exactly what we've got under the bonnet [kinda the same as ii).], iv). wanna race yer [which is still kinda the same as ii).], v). amazed by the performance of a '90s relic still having the edge on their heavy E46 M3! [kinda the same as iii).], vi). there's probably a 6th, but I can't think of anything right now... but it's probably kinda the same as iii).!
