  1. Left it by the side of the road before being questioned by cops. They pulled me over for dazzling them with my fogs on. Then said I was speeding. Could've been true - who knows...
  2. I think you would've mentioned it, but I'll just make sure - You know your rear wheels look like they're on spacers, as they go out a tad - you've set the rear profile off a treat anyways... Was playing with the idea of putting spacers on the rear Speedlines, maybe fronts too, just to push the stance out a bit.
  3. S'alright suppose. :( ...not jealous one bit.
  4. Despite what you've said it's like what everyone elses said - it's well above average. Unless there's other things your not telling us. The overall feeling of driving these things says a lot - like any car I suppose. For instance from time to time, I press to deactivate the alarm and the knobs don't come up by the central locking - then the door handle takes some fiddling to pull open the door, then the creaking of the seat on getting in, the seatbelt jams, erratic idling when turning the engine over, gravelly gear change, and worn out clutch when driving off... all can be fixed tho - which is why I've still got all the patience in the world for it. Well actually it's the engine that I love, when it gets going - which is another story. Yeah red rados - they're alright aren't they. 8)
  5. Just looked at the pics again - what an effin' disappointment. I'm walking away from this one now.
  6. Most of us like the front, just shame about the arse end. Just put my finger over the rear light cluster. Got to say, from the front three quarter angle - it's an improvement. Problem is it attempts to be aggressive at the front but all pansy at the back. Should be the other way round really if anything - like the design ethic to Porsche's 911 "Hello" at the front and "See ya" at the rear. One thing that's perhaps eluded us is that modern design criteria denies the low sleek shapes of the past - re. high bonnets etc. we've got now for protecting silly bods that cross their path. Very high rooflines these days too. With this Scirocco, it sits well in with the family hatchbacks of today, not the coupes of today. If my mind serves me right, the original Scirocco had the looks of a coupe with a hatched rear - not the other way round. I think VW will be successful with this car. Today's buyers are not like those of yesteryear... and sadly whether we like the Scirocco of today or not, it's those customers VW are after that we should be blaming, not VW themselves. Maybe we should blame VW for calling it a Scirocco tho. If they ever made another Corrado, imagine what that would look like - it would probably end up looking similar to an MPV! The niche for truer coupes like the ones we own don't exist anymore in todays market. Our world's just changing sadly. One day we'll all be driving Smart cars anyway - something to look forward to!!
  7. Stop slating it - I like this new Honda Civic.
  8. Not sure but I know why you're asking. :)
  9. Might have seen it in Auto Trader... reasonable price too if I remember.
  10. Those wheels work really well - very compatible... Wouldn't work on a red rado tho.
  11. The standard orange in the rear light clusters work the best on this nugget colour. Not too keen on the eyebrow across the front tho. Would love a full side profile pic, just to check out how that rear diffuser looks with the rest of the car - might copy it. Best 2 pics of a yellow Corrado I've ever seen. :thumb right:
  12. Don't know if it's my place to say, but the grey trim bits don't work for me. Of all the years I've used Back to Black or similar on my trim, I like to think it was for good reason. The Borbets are better left off or left on as a different colour too IMO. But ignore me - I'm probably envious in some way too. TBH it's a fantastic piece of kit you've got there. It's a perfect combination of old school looks and modern refinement. Modern cars look so gutless and safe these days (samey: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=66243&st=0&sk=t&sd=a)- which thankfully, is why people like you do what you do! :notworthy:
  13. "lesbray" - missed the "b" out there. Still you'd find it with ease. Bought front and rear badges off him/her/it.
  14. It's beckoning me in - one of the most elegant Corrados I've ever seen. Silver chic.
  15. Well got it on in the end - used the base of my hammer and pushed down - went in easier than I thought this way... from pressing the damn plastic guide a few times it flew off into the hard to reach areas of the engine bay countless times... thought I'd lost it for good at one point. Truer oil reading revealed under a centimeter of oil remaining... Topped it up double that - gonna need more tho but is enough for a trip to H*lfords... and everywhere else I've been driving for the past 5 bloomin' months...
  16. It is but... ...not blocky enough to carry off original factory look - Inspired by that lovely '80s Ferrari GTO, not really fit for Corrado. But hey.
  17. I'll get the magnifying glass and torch out soon - Cheers for further encouraging my 'Obsessive Corrado Disorder' Rob :)
  18. I'm in the sh*t from reading this since purchasing the following on ebay - VR6 guide tube (053103663). The original is part no. 049103663. Looked like a snug fit on the original (Discontinued?), so it looks like I'm going to have "press down really hard" on this new one to fit (hammer please), as since starting the engine the idling speed's gone above 750 rpm range (1000+ rpm). In the five months of owning the car, it seems I've been running on a false oil level reading. Like some of you say, just a piece of plastic can be the death of yer car. :? ...resting a bit high at the mo wouldn't you say?!
  19. Don't know if this counts... was followed to my flat by an erratically driven, modded Audi A4, in a very distinctive yellow yesterday. You know who you are whoever you are... next time bring a blimmin' camera!
  20. Or go here http://www.corrado-teile.de/shop/index. ... rrado.html I bought a right side one - can't wait to fit the little b*stard.
  21. Here's what I mean - 4th one down sadly gives away its welded on to the rest of the exhaust pipe. So's gonna be awkward to get around the bumper to clean it. Actually the pipe's not even on right just looking at it.
