  1. Err... :camp: Never thought it would lock up like that? He must have been givin' it death then slammed on the brakes?
  2. To be honest, I don't think the kids in the Vtec had anything stupid planned, I did the same thing recently with an Audi R8, just because I wanted to see him hit the gas :luvlove:
  3. "The Concept BlueSport is a design study with no immediate plans for production." As for the 'new' Corrado, I really can't see this happening anytime soon. I've not heard any such rumours from Volkswagen myself, but I'll keep an ear out.

    Bonnet Bras

Ok, someone has to explain this whole thing to me. I just don't get it?! I'm not even going to go into much depth about the actual name. A 'bra' by definition covers/holds (when required or deemed necessary) things that are brilliant and have great appeal to men, women and babies the world over - tits. :luvlove: So why earth would you put a 'bra' on a cars bonnet and bumper? Do people use them all year round, or is it just a seasonal diease? Is it another 'scene' thing thats just gone over my head? :confused4: Why would someone get a expensive respray, or have good standard paint and then want to cover the front of their car with something that looks so awful? It doesn't add to the visual appeal, it doesn't make the car look meaner, more stylish and it certainly (now) doesn't make your car look original... The only thing I can say in its favour is that a bonnet bra must protect the front of your car from stone chips, but then you can't see the front of your car as its covered up by a bloody bonnet bra! Please can someone enlighten me to why these are deemed so cool
  5. Finally got the chance to use this stuff for the first time yesterday and I can confirm - its the shizzle. Its very easy to apply and goes on to bodywork like PS21/R222 carnuba wax and is easy enough to buff off after you've left it for the required minimum of 10-15mins. The only thing that lets it down is the awful applicator pad, but then again I'd like to think that someone with this product would have a alternative, decent, wax/polish applicator pad. Its raining now, but I can't be arsed to go take some photos of the all so lovely beeding. Only time will tell how durable it is.
  6. Same here...loved that little car though! It used to try to kill me mid-corner all the time. :cuckoo:
  7. Jaguar F-Type, I remember years ago my mates Dad had a deposit on one. As I recall, the wing mirrors were on the roof. Very, very cool looking car.
  8. http://www.motorgeek.co.uk/forever-blac ... p-234.html This stuff. I know it looks a bit gypsy, but trust me dude, its the shizzle. Its a bit scary to use at first, but just follow the instuctions. I bought two for my 'big bumper' model Mk2 Golf GTi, but for a Corrado I'd imagine you'd get away with just the one.
  9. Under normal circumstances I use the purple Megs stuff that smells of bubblegum, or the AG bumper care... However, in the past on previous VW's like a Mk2 GTi I used to own with big bumpers I use a kind of dye that worked really, really well, looked profesional and from then on only needed 'topping up' as per usual cleans with the likes of AG bumper care. However, I can't remember the product ( :camp: ) so I'll hunt around on google and see if I can find it. It looks like one of those tube things with a sponge on the end that lazy people use to clean their shoes.
  10. Some interesting points here. I'm not too keen unless it looks as though its OEM, so I'll probably give it a miss and see if I can get another original plastic 'bit' from Volkswagen.
  11. Cheers dude, some good knowledge there. I'll give it a miss in that case.
  12. http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.ph ... 20&xSec=86 Can someone explain in simple terms how this would benefit a VR6 in a real world situation? Basically is it worth investing in one, do many people have them in their VR6's etc etc Cheers.

    Cool or Chav?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-CORRADO-GENUIN ... 240%3A1318 Yes or No lads?
  14. As above...can you get them from Volkswagen dealers? If so, how much should I expect to pay? Fancy a change on the front of my VR6. Cheers ez.
  15. My word thats cheap! I'd be so tempted by that, however I imagine shifted the Corrado to buy it would prove tricky.
  16. Snow is crazy again, so I've been reading up on this thread again! Its normally -5/6, but has got as low as -11 during a few recent nights, according to our weather reports is going to be -18 next week and its going to snow BIGTIME. My mates in Senelager say they're in 3ft of snow! :cuckoo: Was approaching some traffic lights today, behind another car, and when they suddenly turned red the car in front of my went for it, but I bottled it and managed to stop a car's length past the traffic lights :norty: ABS makes a weird crunching noise, but I'm grateful of it! Handbrake keeps freezing on too, so I'm just leaving it off whenever I park it. Despite the car having ABS is it a good idea to 'cadence' (sp??) brake, or is that only for cars without ABS? I'm told the car has some kind of traction control below 30mph...well, I don't think its working! Its proper fun on the runway. Might venture out to the skid pan later. Woop! Woop!
  17. Good drills dude! I'm impressed. I wish I could do all that work to my car myself.
  18. Not feelin' those at all. I really don't think they'd suit a Corrado.
  19. Surely a nice standard VR6 with good mileage is worth much more than this? I'd like to add that the car has nothing to do with me and I don't know the owner, however I'm a little worried as its a similar specification to mine and I bought mine in September 2007 for twice the price! http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/769758.htm
  20. Do people still do that? :nono: I guess that just goes to show that it is still viewed as something that people really look for.
  21. This stuff is good shit. I use it with a touch of fine wire-wool.
  22. As the Corrado is approaching its 90,000 mile service I wonder if its one of the last services I'll get done at a Volkswagen dealership? I've never been anything but satisfied with the service from the Volkswagen dealerships I've used, but I'm wondering if its ecomonically viable. Its always an expensive experience, despite labour costs out here being almost 50% less what they are back in the UK and I think that once the car reaches the big 100,000 miles will it really be worth it? I can't see me selling the car anytime soon, and if I were to be in the market for a VR6, then would I really care that a car had FULL Volkswagen service? I've always got the extra mile and thankfully the only other previous owner did so too, but will the next owner be so appreciative and therefore put up the extra cash because the car has been 'looked after'? It may be an old view that a car with full dealership service history makes a more appealing car, especially with the several (although none anywhere near me) Volkswagen specialists/tuners that are able to offer the same level of prestige service? I personally would be a tad put off if a car had been serviced at a back street garage, or possibily even worse a car serviced by the owner themselves. Discuss.
  23. Got some of this stuff for Christmas, can't wait to use it. Anyone else had any experiences of this? Cheers.
  24. Err...thanks, I'll have to remember that next time. Guess I'll take it to Volkswagen and blame it on the wife.
