  2. i think happy is an understatement reading the post welcome to the corrado family :thumbleft:
  3. a diode is a little item which will have a symbol on like these2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfdiode_inline.gif[/attachment:1gggrfdy]diode_internal.gif[/attachment:1gggrfdy] the diode just goes between the live for dip and main beam its as easy as that , a diode is a one way street for electricity so it will feed dip when main is on but dip wont feed main when dip is on as the electricity cant flow back through the diode :salute:
  4. likes that looks really clean :thumb right: i think the mkll is the best of the bunch :)
  5. your not wrong split screen campers especially the sambas are bloody stupid money , nice thou :D
  6. Surely it's because when main beam is on, the 2 dipped beam lights go out and the main beam ones turn on. When the main beam is switched off the main go out and the dipped come on. You need all 4 lights on when main beam is used. If you hold the main beam half way (like you were flashing someone) you will see it is better. All is needed is a wire and relay between the main and dipped wiring afaik. A local auto electrician was going to make some up for me but i sold the lights before he had chance. you need a wire with a diode in it thou , otherwise when you put dip on it will feed main , you want main to feed dip but not the other way hence the diode , also make sure you use a diode up to the job otherwise it will just burn out.
  7. oh my god i thought the beemer was bad but the corsa is , well i am stuck for words i cant think of anything bad enough that would even come near how crap it is :gag:

    HID troubles

hids only require 35w max to run so there a lot less than a standard halogen , most good quality bixenon kits come already equiped with a diode to leave dip on as the main beam is achieved by a solenoid moving the bulb glass back, it sound like you bought a h4 with halogen main , which requires a diode as already mentioned to keep the dip alive when you switch to main .
  14. its the crap bulbs they supply mine are fine now.
  15. DAMN i am going to start blubbing in a minute i soooo want another one , what was i thinking :cuckoo:
  16. I know, I had a ur-Quattro for two years :D Still miss it :( this was my UR 20v had it for 6 yrs , should never have sold it :cuckoo: but i will have another , and do a rally rep i also miss the car loads bloody houses .
  17. mine were black versions from germany they cost me 240 in the end, the h7 hids in a 4500 k cost me 75, and the osram bulbs also h7 cost 15 so that 330 all together oh and i uprated the headlight loom but that did not cost me anything as i had all the bits from various donners and did it in work.
  18. i got the osram bulbs for around 15 quid .
  19. hi the main and dip on the lights adjust together , i found when i fitted mine that i set dip up and main was a little low ,it turned out the bulbs inpro supply were crap so i fitted some osram bulbs in main beam and a 4500k hid kit in dip , they are now the best lights i have ever had , and i have owned cars with standard hids before and these are much better.
  20. no vr engine all the way its such a good sound track second only to a 5 cylinder turbo quattro engine mmmmm :notworthy:
  21. Certainly not. If air could get in under atmospheric pressure, hydraulic fluid wouldn't have any issue getting out under hydraulic pressure. To be honest this problem sounds entirely like a seized caliper, I can't believe for a moment its got anything to do with the brake fluid not having been changed. It may be ideal to change fluid more often but how many people really do. I've left fluid in donkeys years longer than that with no ill effects at all. hoses are porous ,as glass is a liquid , there are many things in life which you would not believe.
  22. i personally like the dark centre and polished rim look :thumbleft:
  23. if you use proper plastic primer it does not need sanding at all a good body shop will have the right primer .
  24. fucking arse holes that would really piss me off , they should be strung up by there bollocks end of, mindless bloody vandalism i dont understand it what do they get out of it :bad-words: :mad2: .
