  1. Hi TIM, Not had a chance to read the whole thread, but looking for sunroof mech (+ runners) for later spec C, also drivers side front wing if you've still got them? Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
  2. Hi, Do you still have the sunroofech, motor and runners? If so, does it all work? If so, I'd be very interested. Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk

    Music thread...

Just checked this out and thought it was pretty good. Always liked Like Vuberts stuff, but not got any wagonchrist stuff. Bit of a contrast to my usual taste, I've got Lamb of God in the cd player at the moment. lol Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
  4. That's cool. I'll have the missus helping, and she's pretty good at tinkering with cars. Cheers bud Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
  5. Hi, I need a little advice. I've a '95 2.0 16v and the sunroof appears to have come off the runners and doesn't sit/close properly. I've got a 91 1.8 16v that I'm thinking of breaking and selling off the parts and although the sunroof only tilts, I'm wondering if it will fit the 2ltr? If it does, how easy will it be to fit? Any advice out there? Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
  6. Hi, Do you still have the drivers side front wing? If so, how much for it? Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
  7. Same here!! lol Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
  8. Having owned both 1.8 & 2.0 16v, I'd say go 2.0. Nothing in the performance really. If insurance is a big issue, go 1.8. If you do go 1.8 16v, I may be breaking one soon if you need any parts. I also have a black interior too!! lol Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
  9. I'm now on my second 2.0 16v, picked the 2nd up this evening. The 1.8 16v is a good car, but getting a little dated and hard to find a good one with reasonable mileage. Like I say, this one is now my 2nd 2.0, and I'd say they're better than the 1.8. The missus had a Vr, and having driven all the C's (although not the G60), she would choose the 2.0 16v. Like me, she prefers the sharp performance and quick handling through bends and on twisty roads. For straight line grunt, you'd want the Vr. Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
  10. As above, I'm after a badgeless grilled with eyebrow, for '95 valver. Must be in good condition. Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
  11. Kad, best option yet!! U Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
  12. Agreed, I'd rather they didn't make another Rado, but that does look pretty awesome, and definitely the closest thing to resemble the Rado from VAG. Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
  13. Personally, as I tyre engineer myself, I'd have to backup what 8vMatt is saying. Firstly, tyres are not designed to be run like that, and will ne dangerous to drive on, especially at speed. I've seen things like this before, and the first thing people do is blame the tyres. Checking ETRTO, the narrowest permitted tyre width for a rim with a width of 9" is 225. Stretching tyres on runs should only ever be done for 'show' purposes. Rant over. Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
  14. Woohoo!!!! Needless to say me and the missus are chuffed to bits!!!! Taking the advice given, we avoided TCS....and thank god!!!!! We will now be the proud new owners of GlosterOx's valver. Cheers dude, was good to meet you, and we're really looking forward to having the car.

    Tesco Tyres

The thing is, if you go directly to Black Circles, chances are it will be cheaper. Generally, Black Circles aren't too bad. Tesco are probably just acting like a 'broker'.
  16. Yeah, silly thing is, we'd just saved up some money to replace them. We were going to go for the euro look with a set of steelies, sprayed mat black. Prior to that, we had to spend about £700 to get it through the mot......money we'd saved for a set of Lenso RS5's in 16"
  17. Cheers dude. Got it on our watch list, may call up later as it's not too far away from here. ---------- Post added at 10:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:14 AM ---------- Ian, Sounds interesting, and we really would prefer to buy from someone here. Could you PM me with a little more info, like mileage, service history and price. Also, do you have any pics. Would definitely be interested in having a look today if you're about. Ian
  18. Ideally i would look for something on here, but in the classifieds, there are no 2ltr 16v going. On Auto trader, there are maybe one or two cars that meet the criteria, and as we need to replace the car ASAP, we're willing to look around. Also, not really looking to spend £500 on something that needs lots of TLC. I am really wary of TCS, and we're being extremely fussy, even as far as we will not buy from someone we don't like, and we normally sus that out almost imediately. I am actually thinking, the black valver we've seen in Brum is going to be the one, depending on the mileage.....they haven't listed it on the ad.
  19. Thanks for that info. I'll probably still go and take a look, but armed with this info, if the car turns out to be a good one, i'll try and knock him down considerably on price. Between me and the missus, we've owned 3 rado's, she's had a Vr, i've had a 2ltr 16v and currently in the the process of replacing a 1.8 16v, so got plenty of collective experience of C's. I'm looking for a 2ltr 16v, not found many owned by entusiasts and forum members, so tempted to check out the khaki valver TCS are selling, although very wary of him. There is also a black valver for sale in Birmingham, so will also be checking that one out too. hopefully, i'll have a new one by mid-week.
  20. Breaking news.......advestised on Auto Trader, is another Rado with these terrible three spokes!!! I suggest we all get in touch with him and let him/her know how terrible they actually look!!!! Incidentally, my C's engine is dead, so anyone wanting to give the ol' three spokes a good home, submit your applications now!!! lol
  21. Hi, Just looking for a bit of feedback really. My C's engine died last friday, and as we just can't be with a C, we're looking at replacing the deaad one. I've seen a C i like being sold by TCS near Swadlincote in Derbyshire. Has anyone here had any dealings with them before? What are your opinions of them? Their prices seem a little higher than elsewhere, but i'm happy to pay a little extra for a good car, with good bodywork etc. I'm interested to hear of your opinions and experiences with them. Cheers, Ian Ps, I may well be posting a thread with some bits for sale.........including the much loved three spokes!!! (see previous thread!!! lol)
  22. Spotted Rsgntx today in his rather tasty Vr. Sadly, he also spotted me in a layby on the A46 with a very poorly/dead engine. Typical, the first time i was spotted as well!!!! Still, may be breaking this on, and buying a new one!!!
  23. Cheers bud. the one we looked at last night was mint.....well, all bar one small point. The turbo was making quite a high pitched whistling, which to me says two things, 1. the turbo is on it's way out, 2. it's been thrashed!! We were also told a mechanic that in his opinion, it sounded like the turbo was on it's way. The other Golf GT TDi we have seen, the turbo was very quiet, but still packed a hell of a boost.
  24. Hi, I'm after a little advice if anyone can help. Me and the missus are tradingin her astra and getting her a 3 door Golf GT TDi 130 mk4. Neither of us have ever owned or bought diesels/turno diesels before. We've steered clear of the 150bhp model as we heard they have problems with the clutch and flywheel, so have decided the 130 is the way forward. The question is, what do we need to be looking out for on these cars to stop us buying a lemon? Obviously, we'd love to have two Rado's in the household, but we need at least one car that will remain economical and reliable all year round!! lol We're looking at one this evening, so keeping fingers crossed as we really want rid of the boring astra!!!!
