  5. only just got round to this today and thought id share some additional info that might save some one agro in the future. the steering rack off a 95 16v is the same as a 91 g60 as david explains above just the splines different but..... only noticed today that the off-side tie rod is a different length ...... [ATTACH=CONFIG]66757[/ATTACH] thought ide share this as they are a pain to change on the car. i had to take off wish bone & arch liner to gain access to undo and swop over. tie rod ends are the same tho...

  7. im same situation as you mate taken everything off to refurb rack replaced steering rack etc. its a shame the measurement doesnt go from trackrod end to that hexagonal part half way you can put your spanner on. wish id researched before putting boot and clips back on too!
  8. i need to set mine up roughtly to drive to get full wheel allignment done. i have 195 45 16 so how does that adjust the measurement? why dont they supplie measurement for other side even a rough measurement would be handy

  12. i would take a guess at the stalk control/hazard button being faulty or wiring plug not in properly? not alot else it can be if youve changed fuse & relay i would have thought

  14. thank for the reply looks like i have found the problem! the loom runs from horns to a connector below headlight near intercooler only visable when you remove air duct off front of intercooler. the wire seems broken as it enters even tho the insulation is fine???? well at least ive found it now....
  15. right ok now i have checked and there is no 12v on horn connector using battery as earth... have double checked slip ring all is good 12v & earth on wires that plug onto horn button.... what else could it be?????????????? HELP

  19. hopefully someone can help? the horns work when powered direct off battery... i can hear the relay clicking ( does this mean its ok? )..... checked where the wiring to horns looks fine..... no voltage found at horn plugs using multimeter.... no earth found at horn plugs using multimeter..... it worked last month....... EDIT checked fuse.... EDIT i have checked and there is no 12v on horn connector using battery as earth... EDIT have double checked slip ring all is good 12v & earth on wires that plug onto horn button.... any one point me in the right direction??? perhaps should have checked earlier :bonk:

  21. great guide but i hope someone can settle a disagreement with my mate! if i change the cambelt and do no other work do i have to adjust the timing? if so why? my mate who works in an HGV maindealer and his "experts" he works with say "i dont and dont need to bother with all the unplugging coolant sensor revving 3 times to reset ecu sequence rubbish just change the belt it will be fine" i have shown him all the guides but would be good to be able to give him the technical reason why this is needed
