  1. RIP J-DUB! for now at least. I dont know about anyone else but personally I feel like J-DUB is a bit of an institution on the forum, the two are so connected in my mind when I think of the forum I think of J-DUB! I'm looking forward to seeing your next project, and the eventual rebirth of the old faithful, good luck finding a new one!
  2. You have to try and make the most out of these horrible incidents, get the charger sorted out and fit yourself a nice front mounted intercooler.
  3. from a national search on autotrader there seems to be a hell of alot more valvers for sale than anything else (even two 2.0 8v's) hand full of g60's and not many VR's at all. the average price of a valver seems to have dropped quite a bit since i bought mine just over a year ago :( to be expected i suppose!
  4. early valvers with manual windows must be pretty rare! not as rare as the vr6 campagin though, obviously.
  5. while both the 300zx and the rx7 are great cars and personally i'd have both if i could, again they're a little long in the tooth for my mate, shes after something brand new to about 3 years old. rx-8's a little over the 12k upper limit too! :D I'll suggest and Evo, but i think like most women she'll turn her nose up at the looks, its a deffinate blokes car!

flusted, how you coping with driving the car hard and potholes and the like? do the wheels not hit the archliners? or have you ripped them out?
  7. cupra r! nice idea, i'll pass that one on! 200sx is a bit long in the tooth for what she wants, and a skoda....shes way to image concious for that! she suggested an is200 herself but i said, you're 22, its an old mans car! no way! 406 coupe maybe, shes mentioned them before and finally a lupo/polo gti....i'd have one as a second motor, but i think its a bit dinky for her! cheers chaps, all this is helping massivly!
  8. SLK would probably appeal, not sure on the smart roadster but i'll suggest it! knowing her she'd want the brabus edition or nothing! yaris/collola while 'nice' cars i know just wouldnt float her boat dispite the fact they're quick
  9. ok, looking for some ideas for a mate of mine who's currently got a MGTF and fancys a change. Being a lass shes quite keen on buying something new, or only a couple of years old because she doesnt want it breaking down, likes warrentys etc etc. Her budget is 10-12k and shes already ruled out a civic type-r, audi a3, pug 206cc and a bmw mini. her main critieria are 'style, individuality, reliability and speed'. I'm stumpped now becuase to be quite honest i cant think of a new car in that price range that i find remotly interesting! and yes, i suggested a C, mk1-5 golfs and even a camper van, but no. ideas anyone?
  10. looking at the last two photos theres no comparison in the styling, the C outshines the WRX in every way! just think what you could do to your C for 24k? ooooo mummy!
  11. I'm currently running my C without any bumpstops and very shagged topmounts (rattle rattle) and the way yours drives sounds alot like mine before i got the tracking sorted out. Probably a good idea to get the bumpstops/top mounts sorted out before you get the tracking and camber done, otherwise you'll pay for it twice (like i'm going to have to - talk about doing things @rse about t!t!)
  12. i thought 'fiat' too from the back quarter, but i couldnt have told you what kind (other than little and *cough* retro)
  13. its got a sunroof, i think that was an option on early models too wasnt it? i've seen/heard of a couple without, so maybe they weren't as tight as i thought
  14. damn the tight-@rse first owner of mine then!
  15. cant be a very early 1.8 16v, the ad says its got 'e/w' and the very early valvers all had windy windows! like mine! (its retro not under-equiped )
  16. lets just hope they stay in russia! i cant deny that i race when provoked, i think everyone does at some point or other, but thats just total madness in that sort of traffic! is it me or does the m5 seem to fishtail towards the end? :?
  17. Just wondering if anyones had experiance with these, how well they fit, how easy the job was etc... http://www.performancedriven.co.uk/shop.product.asp?CatID=57
  18. top mounts were left as they were, to be quite honest i should have learned my lesson by now, i bought the suspension without thinking about the bumpstops and top mounts, then when we got them off and realised they were shot, I though nah the hell with it, it'll be ok! obviously not! cheers steve, i'll get the top mounts changed and get the bumpstops on and fingers crossed that'll cure it!
  19. just a thought, the suspension rattles quite alot, could that be down to a lack bumpstops too? the sound makes me think the springs loose on the damper, at least thats what it 'sounds' like to my untrained amature ear! I got one of Euro car parts 'lowering' kits which is bilstein dampers and ventura springs. car looks great on them and the ride would be ok if it wasnt for the scrubbing and the rattles! :( any ideas?
  20. bah! back to the drawing board then...well...back to the jack with some new bumpstops! ta steve
  21. erm...no  i forgot to get new ones and left them off in the end thinking it wouldnt make much difference
  22. et35's, no spacers or anything, just had tracking and camber done too, tyres are 205/45/16's
  23. just had my c dropped 40mm and i'm running 16x7.5's. I was giving it a bit of stick around a round about....er...testing ;) and there was a nasty scrubbing noise so i backed off and stopped. basically the top edge of the tyre is catching the arch liner as the car leans over! am i safe to take them out? what sort of problems could i have? and with that done should i get the arches rolled too? didnt think i'd have to with that sort of drop but if i do....ah well!
