  1. can't say i blame you stood next to those two
  2. Up until yesterday I've always been a bit of a porsche snob when it came to boxters - 'just because you cant afford the 911' type of thing. I have to say I fully retract any previous such statements I've made. A good mate of mine has just bought a pre-facelift boxter s in some unusual green colour (special order apparently?) with tan leather, lowered, 911 turbo wheels and a 'chip'. Not only does it look amazing, it sounds fantastic and goes like stink! The previous owner had it dyno'd at 303bhp and it certainly is fully capable of making the most of that power. A countryside blast with the roof down yesterday was probably one of the finest passenger experiences I've had to date, we weren't hanging about but the boxter just oozed balance, poise and confidence inspiring grip. pretty much anything my mate threw at it, it took in its stride and coped with without any complaints awesome cars, I'm utterly in love
  3. There was a member (who's name i forget) who lived quite close to me, he had a red valver with no front splitter and it looked horrible! I'm sure there are photos somewhere...
  4. ha! i was going to say that if you hadn't already, was on top gear I think and I thought it was a joke, works though! of course you 'do' end up with a brain tumour, but hey your car unlocks from further away :)
  5. yeah, i could have picked a harder one but that photo was just TOO good to pass up! the snap came from my 'private stash' of blackmail material
  6. pfft thats easy, its obviously....er... colourful stripy four missile :(
  7. my sex-wee doesnt sound like a ferarri :( what are you eating dinky?
  8. wow, hes the coolest man i've ever seen, i want to be JUST like him
  9. sold it! I didnt have it long enough to do anything major to it but I had planned to swap the bumpers, remove the arches and do the side strips, its no 'too' expensive and really improves their looks IMO
  10. sounds like its fairly well on its way to being sorted already! I collected a load of photos when I was looking at modding mine, most people seem to get the later full colour coded bumpers from a highline, remove the plastic arches and fit GL/CL side rubbing strips (the GTI ones blend with the arches) and fit a VR lower chin as its deeper. Vento front end conversions can be done too, creating a Volf! You can actually make them look very tasty without too much effort
  11. maybe it was 115bhp - felt like about 20bhp after having the VR!
  12. spec-wise, electric everything and better seats (the one i owned had leather - not sure on the cloth interiour?) colour coded bumpers, usually with black plastic inserts unless a later model, plastic arch covers, small spoiler. not sure what else the GTI got over the lesser models? Rust is common on the sils and around the door-shuts, rear tailgate around the wiper, also a good idea to check under those arch trims. rear bushes can be a problem on older cars, worth checking at least. the 2.0 8v isn't a bad engine, 90ish bhp i think, decent low down torque from what i remember but gutless higher up, they handle like a wet sponge if they're on stock suspension though.
  13. yeah its all relative, don't expect to get one and not spend something on it on an monthly basis, they're ageing cars now and its unlikely you'll find one that needs nothing at all doing within the next 12 months. valvers are always cheaper to run (in terms of the engine) than vr's and g60's since they're mechanically very similar to the mk2 golf which every mechanic should know how to work on and parts are fairly well availible. Otherwise corrado specific parts (panels etc) can be expensive as there's not many of them about to get second hand bits off and the dealers charge fortunes. compared to something like a focus or mk4 golf they're expensive to run, compared to a roller, classic porsche or the titanic, they're cheap as anything
  14. the ebay one is nice, but the super-exclusive one that only an handful of us have which has the forum logo on is nicer
  15. It almost looks like a tubular chassis in that photo! bet you cant wait to get it on a track and find out how it handles with all that added stiffness
  16. now normally i wouldn't sink to dinkus' level but...
  17. ah mate that sucks, you must be gutted. The damage actually looks worse than on my (also silver) VR when that was written off, I had the option for an economical repair but to be honest you know its never going to be 'right' if you get it fixed at way. Might be worth buying back and breaking, if you get the option and have the space
  18. I've seen someone post photos of a red 'rado on mono's and TBH they look good but in 15" they're a bit small Heres one on 15" modernlines for referance
  19. twice, he'll want her to hang around while he showers in between
  20. treat yourself Kev, 'splash' out!
  21. thats a good score, I'd be happy with a free Yugo at the moment let alone a g60! :lol
