I fitted a k&n and drilled the airbox on my valver, pickup was defiantly better but I doubt that was down to the k&n. I think the 'swiss cheese' mod is probably the best thing you can do to a valver in terms of (quick and cheap) induction systems. just drill a few large holes down the wing side of the airbox, dont go mad though - i did and the car sounded like a spitfire until I patched them up again! Had a K&N cone on the VR which sounded awesome, zero performance difference as far as I could tell but it at least sounded faster :D

Not wanting to sound critical but the rear shot reminds me of the old sierra estate! Wheels look much much better coloured, really liking the way this has come together, well done for doing something different!

Wouldn't your corrado still fall in to the pre 2001 band since IIRC its the age of the car, regardless of when the engine was made? Also it looks like its only the auto's that are in the higher band for 'new' cars.

also just noticed the numberplates on the '95 VR and the TDI, nice touch ;)

the TDI looks good for a daily too, are those wheel-trims? they actually really suit it!

thats going to be an interesting engine to tune, both a supercharger and a turbo to mess with? still i cant help but think we might be reading a thread about the worlds first coal powered corrado in a weeks time ;) its always interesting reading through these build-up threads, you certainly seem to know no fear when it comes to projects so I'm looking forwards to watching this progress!

road duty for Band 'G' cars, based on CO2, will be £300. I looked up the VW's in that band... so basically anything with a 3.2 v6! bit of a blow for people planning an r32 engine conversion :( edit - actually looking again, they've all got some form of automatic gearbox havent they?

another one of those niche fitting concepts, because the markets crying out for a 4x4 coupe/roadster convertible with suicide doors. "there simply isnt another car like it!" cynical? moi? ;)

I'd agree to a point, if the engine is tight and healthy, otherwise get stuff like the timing chains done and make sure its tip-top all round, suspension, bushes, engine mounts and so on. Once its sorted like JIMMI says, to make it drive like new, you'll be well set up to add a charger at a later date. not very exciting I suppose, but its the route I'd take!

had the same thing myself, best advice is to print off as many autotrader/pistonheads adverts as you can find for similar cars (bit hard with corrado's I know) and fax them to the loss assessor as evidence of market value. They should be putting you back in the position you were in prior to the accident, its less about how much your car was worth and more about how much it'd cost you to buy a replacement. Only a subtle difference but it can help when arguing your case.

I'm confused... has your car been taken because its got no MOT/TAX or has it fallen in to one of the holes? :scratch:

despends on your tastes, personally I'd just lower it over some nice alloys, dewiper the rear, clear repeaters and stick a 90mm chin spoiler on, in terms of styling at least. Engine-wise the only limit is your funds, I would say minimum get a proper induction kit in there (the BMC one is superb) spend a bit of cash and make sure everything else is in top notch condition, then turbo it :D

yeah and stick a fat lad in the boot too ;) Engine looks fairly sorted, i do like a clean bay

I'm not so sure, the gearknob looks familiar but the car parked up looks more like a Audi Coupe to me, and if you freeze-frame the alloy it doesnt look like a 16v sebring!

you're a brave man to have pulled apart what was already, by most peoples standards, a damn fine and pretty unique corrado. I'm looking forwards to seeing how this turns out, always impressive seeing what you're up to paul ;)

Alloy choice is quite subjective, what I like others will hate! that said, quite liking these Kerscher 'new star' at the moment, similar to the speedlines (kind of!) but allot nicer KCS are nice too without the horrible center cap! not cheap either though really!

you got yourself a good one there mate, I've got to admit I liked it best on the ZW1's but why not take it somewhere its not been before? theres plenty of tasty rims other than the ZW1's ;)

there's been a few major project corrado's on here over the years, Phat's r32, Kev's turbo slag, H8rra's S/C monster, not to mention Jay Renshaw's, Bigger big bens's, a20 lee, coxy's and so on - this one just seems to take things that one step further in terms of the scale of work done. Very interesting to watch, keep up the good work.
