  1. years?? dont you mean days ;) BTW - congratulations on a superb bowl-cut!
  2. I hope so Jim, from what I've read mk3's are problem free, but all the issues seem easily resolved and alot of them are the same ones the corrado has! for a 8v its actually fairly nippy, I was expecting a real slow-coach. now, how do I persuade the missus a few cosmetic tweeks are 'vital'...
  3. made you look! :D Its not a Corrado, its a mk3 GTI Its a 5 door, 95(N) reg 8v GTI in what I think is Mystic Blue (dark purply blue) with mint heated leather and 81k on the clock, just serviced, cambelt changed last year, rear axel bushes changed, recent new coil, multilock jobby.... couple of light scratches, one small parking 'ding' but nothing to complain about on a ten year old car.
  4. we 4 kings went off to the Spar, three on their camels on in his car! merry crimble!
  5. nice picture of me and a large set of muffs ;)
  6. well yeah kev, money/time allowing i'd get it RAC/AA inspected but I've got to move quick on this one ;)
  7. going for a turbot eh laura? pfft, i dunno, dave gets himself a quick motor and you have to compete... ;)
  8. gsbellew, bloody hell, sounds like a very close call! huzzah for 'rado brakes!
  9. totally normal mate, VR's suffer from 'piston slap' on startup, but it goes as the engine warms. nothing to worry about.
  10. wonder if that means they'll have less refueling stops too?
  11. First time I've considered doing one of these since I knew the previous owners of both 2nd hand cars I've had in the past. the HPI check is £40 and the RAC one is £25, although it says its powered by HPI... anyone know if theres a difference in how deep they delve?
  12. aprox 42mph isnt it? and down again at 12? can be adjusted though. edit - doh!
  13. hardly burning a hole, just warming my leg a bit ;)
  14. feck me, is that this weekend?? 'might' have a new goof to show off by then!
  15. ah..yes... if i'd looked at the ebay ad i'd have realised that! sorry bud! still dont see why it wouldnt fit as they're essentially the same engine. if its 'really' good and you combine it with a good exhaust and induction kit you might see 10%
  16. the golf/corrado 16v engines are pretty much the same, one of the main differences is the manifold though, they 50mm on the golf giving a tad less torque but higher bhp. you can put a 50mm golf manifold onto a corrado so I dont see why this one wouldnt fit!
  17. theres a turbo-technics 16v kit on ebay at the moment, £800 buy it now :)
  18. dunno what your budget is mate but you 'really' need one of these. http://www.rthursby.co.uk/heaters.html
  19. 16v, are you saying that if you pull someone with my name, you get your rear end battered into an unrecognisable pulp? :?
  20. well i'd heard it said before, but about 'old' cars, which I took to mean genuinely old like MG's and morris minors, not 15 year old VW's! lesson learned though, and like walesy, i keep catching the missus out by leaving her car in gear... which is a small victory for me every time she stalls :)
  21. I hope to GOD that doesnt become my legacy. "oh, someone else's done a chris hill then!"
