I wasnt suprised when mansell took the top spot on the f1 drivers lap times board, hes been doing it alot longer than the other two and has tried his hand at alot of racing styles, f1, indy, touring to name just 3. Experiance over youth every time. he looked like he needed a bit of trinny and suzannah action though, hes SO 1990's in his turtle neck and leather jacket

cat-d % cutoff depends on the insurer, but yeah, 60% is about average. my car 'would' have made a good donor, but they took it away on the back of a wagon this morning. I'm glad i was at work, i think i might have cried had i had to watch!
-
as i understand it, if you rear-end someone its ALWAYS your fault in the eyes of the law and the insurance companies, reguardless of curcumstance and logic!
-
if they do want to write it off, ask about a cash-in-lew arrangement, the car doesnt get written off and they give you cash to get it fixed yourself meaning you can buy 2nd hand parts and save a fortune, you might even come out with a bit of cash left over!
-
ooo ya f**ker! thats unlucky mate! I wouldnt like to guess if it was a write-off or not, I didnt think mine would be with the minor damage that was on it but it was... I'd say new bonnet, wings, lights, front bumper, slam panel, grille plus paint plus labour... could be close. :( gutted but glad you're ok

I remember my dad having to put yellow beam-benders on the cars lights when we went to france years ago!

I've found a cheap-as-chips mk2 which the guy 'says' is a wolfsburg edition GTI. I dont know too much about these, but i do know you can buy plenty of wolfsburg badges and parafinalia on ebay. What was special about the wolfsburg edition, if anything, and how do you spot a real one? oh... also... mk2 GTI's are 4 stud arent they? ta!

enjoyied the feature, the vayron really does look like the ultimate car, the whole race thing was pretty funny, theres no way I'd be jumping into a little plane with james may though! like others have said its a shame they didnt review the car a bit better, lots of shots of clarkson going "wooooooooaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!" only tell you what you already know, its fast! Got shivers down my back and my hair stood up (head not back!) on end when it came on, its pure sex! Cringed when JC shouted something like "comin' atcha!" though

just picked up PVW and read the article, nice write-up Jay, car looks stunning as always! I thought the 'proper' conversion thing and the first 24v bit might ruffle a few feathers! -
you dont like the charger noise?

g60's are mostly early style, vr6's are pretty much all late style. I think theres a few cross-over models about (vrs with some early interior parts/g60s with late interior parts) but there seems to be more cross-over g60's than VR's.

its off to the insurance company after a bump about a month ago mate, going to miss using 'duel' carrageways the way they were intended :(
-
maybe it was a 172 i went up against, it was on the way down to VW festival earlier in the year, he shot past me, H8RRA and Chrisvr6 nos as we joined the a19 and I took the bait, catching him easily and sticking with him until he gave me the thumbs up and moved over, at which point I strolled past. Dont think the speeds got much above 80 TBH
-
thought about it, just to complete the corrado experiance! They're a different drive to a VR, and can be tuned to provide simular power in a different way, so it would depend on what I was looking for. If i wanted something a bit more balls-out than the VR then a tuned g60 would probably be something I'd look at.
-
phew, thats a busy forum! ;)
-
clio 182's are easy meat (or were) in the VR, they get off the lights first but I never had a problem with one once things got serious.
-
had some fun with one of those, the old shape if that makes a difference! from 30ish up to 90ish it was fairly even, he was sat on my bumper but wasnt trying to overtake, which he had planty of room to do. once we hit the low 100's I think the lighter weight and aerodynamic properties of the elise won through, he pulled out and passed me fairly convincingly. didnt get chance to get up to higher speeds and claw back any pride :(
-
I said it before when I saw these rims, they remind me of Jay Renshaws corvette rims, just with longer spokes. Really not sure how they'd look on a corrado, I think they'd be more at home on a supra or something.

true, but the v5 will have gone to the DVLA by now i'm sure

were there any witness's who can't be breifed about the date, ie farmers who may claim compensation for a hedge or drivers of recovery vehicles? I'd be VERY careful if you decide to delay the date of the accident, if you get found out the penalties could be stiff.
