  1. They're just doing the owners a favour, everyone (joe public) calls the corrado a scirocco anyway so it saves confusion.
  2. with appologies to whoever it was that scanned the original, heres a composite of the scans on the site Tempest is talking about. Theres a VERY familiar line running down the side of the car, I really like it just for that reason!
  3. yeah tappets on mine rattle a fair bit until the engine revs over about 1500 - 2k then it quitens down, annoying but not fatal.
  4. might be usful to make it clear you're not selling this stuff chris, that was the impression I got when i started reading! I thought... another one of chris's schemes!
  5. very nice video, although I'd prefer to see it without the 'castles in the sky' soundtrack so I could hear more of the engine. Love the mad-max looks of the thing when the cameraman pulls up alongside at the end...pure cool. see what you mean about the bouncyness, the front end did seem to be hopping alot, which aint good!
  6. meh... sounds good though :(
  7. well, thinking practically, i had one of those press-studded-on rain cover thingys in mind, you know the ones they do for caterhams and old MG's where your head is the only thing that pokes out above a rubbery canopy? ideal. IMO paul if you're going for a new roof, you might as well go carbon fibre and make it more than cosmetic.
  8. heh, dont worry mate, their minor gripes in the scheme of things! just people nit-picking.
  9. one of those brolly-hats would do the trick!
  10. theres a rather nice cream/beige two tone one around here. wheels are manky though.
  11. just lob the roof off all together, chop the windscreen to half height and have yourself some speedster fun! imagine the weight-saving!
  12. yeah figaro/fagaro thingys are cool, the remind me of columbo's car, although I think that was a pug?
  13. pretty good, i think they wanted around £600 for them in the place I went to, not sure what the tyres were though.
  14. according to the info i could find, current wrc cars are limited to 300bhp, but yeah advances in technology probably makes their effective speed simular to the older group b cars
  15. google, I Specifications Audi Quattro Sport Engine: Five cylinder, turbocharged, 530bhp* Transmission: Four wheel drive, six speed Peugeot 205 T16 Engine: Four cylinder, turbocharged, 420bhp* Transmission: Four wheel drive, five speed Ford RS200 Engine: Four cylinder, turbocharged, 450bhp* Transmission: Four wheel drive, five speed Metro 6R4 Engine:V-6, non-turbo 410bhp* Transmission: Four wheel drive, five speed Lancia Delta S4 Engine: Four cylinder, super-turbo-charged 550+bhp* Transmission: Four wheel drive, five speed *denotes “official” bhp, rumored to be 150bhp higher in cases not sure about the current cars and their limitations but i'm almost positive theres a cap on power. oh and just for you dinkus... http://www.kiwisport.net/blogmedia/Audi_S1.mp3 -edit- fixed link to mp3
  16. i dunno, arent modern rally cars limited to just under 300bhp? google-me-do for rally car specs!
  17. Pickard1, yup, all sorts of hellish stories about head gaskets and its not like you can just pop the bonnet and change it either since the head is somewhere under the (fixed) rear shelf. Not sure how they change them TBH but i have a funny feeling they have to take half the car apart.
  18. jesus... good luck mate! thats a MASSIVE task to undertake!
  19. heh, been playing with vectors have you 16v? ;)
  20. theres an ace vid of one doing a figure 8 at an indoor car show knocking about somewhere... the speed it does it defys the laws a physics, i seriously dont know how the driver reacted quickly enough to drive it how he was.
  21. main gripe - when you fix one thing another breaks! Thats a bit unfair though since as has been said, they're getting on a bit and need love. I hate the way that they never look as low, hard or wide in photos as they do in real life.
  22. or a nice wide-boy sport puma :D
  23. i looked at those TSW's before i found the RH's, the dish on them looks mint in that photo, but sadly its no where near that big on the 17's. I'm almost positive the image they use is actually of something silly like a 20" rim! that said they're still very nice and i did very nearly buy some.
  24. biggrim, thats one of the perils of living in your car ;)
  25. i'd go for either Grey or moonlight/indigo blue, then sell it in a few years as a 'rare' colour :)
