  1. wheres nosky with his story about a ferret and a skylines exhaust-pipe? (not corrado related but damn funny). oh, chris's cut brake-pipe was a weird one too. We'd been swapping the twin DTM from my car with the standard box from chris's, all was going well until chris went to move his car and lost the ability to brake. A quick investigation under the car revealed... a cut brake line!! (cue sinister music) chris went into a panic thinking someone was trying to kill him, me an paul were quite obviously wondering how to get away from chris as quickly as possible so we didnt get taken out a drive-by intended for him... when we realised that we'd had to cut the backbox off the standard system on chris's car to remove it and had nicked the brakepipe during the exercise... oops!
  2. fair point jim ;) but I still say the MX-5 is better on all counts.
  3. yeah, every time i do i get pasty envy :(
  4. did you mean to say that out loud?
  5. yeah as i say, in comparison to other cars in their class they're not good on the handling front, but in comparison to say, a 4k corsa, they're tip-top! I found it just didnt offer me the feedback i wanted and was generally a little indirect. certainly not confidence inspiring enough to have any rear-wheel-drive fun.
  6. have you noticed the roads going the wrong way in that advert as if they're reversing? anyway, thats OT. I dont think she'll enjoy the MGF really, they're not an easy day-to-day drive, although in their favour they do handle pretty well in comparison to other cars in the price range, just not in comparision to other cars in their class.
  7. dont get a MGF or TF, IMO they're poo. mate of mine had one and while she thought it was the bee's knees, i thought it had nasty plastic build quality, things kept breaking, gearbox was notchy as hell and the ride was harder than my rado. They have alot of problems with catastrophic head gasket failures (much like the lotus elise which has the same engine) and above all else... i dont like em ;) mx-5 is a much much better option, show her a yellow one, she'll love it. what about an old shape mr2? not sure if the targa-tops are all imports (i know the turbos are) but its an option if she really wants a convertible. failing that, dare I suggest a fiat barchetta?
  8. next time you drop your mexian spicy deep dish on the way home from pizza express, you'll be wishing you'd insured it with him... just you wait and see!
  9. you mean how do you remove the base from the mirror unit? sorry, i dont know, but i felt sorry for you since no-one replied to your question!
  10. check out the blokes CV, he loads stuff onto aeroplanes... bagage handler... experianced t.osser? good god I think my sense of humor bones broken today :(
  11. aye, and her husbands an experianced tosser  oh fucking shit ****ing hell! stupid forum swear filter :( an experianced t.osser ;)
  12. possibly, i suppose they could get away with a huge blower with very little spool up time using a VTG, but my guess is they'll just make a car with insane torque all through the rev range. now, a twin VTG turbo would be fun...
  13. V6 has 210bhp, but its lardy, so about a second slower to 60 than a vr6. guess you've already looked here paul? the owner reviews are normally pretty good. http://www.parkers.co.uk/choosing/carreviews/review.aspx?model_id=658&page=1
  14. saw that, but its a bit large to d/l at work ;)
  15. peninferina (spelling?!) designed... cant go wrong with that in the looks department. most importantly, is there room for a charger in the engine bay?
  16. i dunno, but she went from working in a tv studio to being a waitress, but still pines for that career in showbiz...bless.

    Induction

the 'BMC CDA' is the best induction kit for the VR6 by popular forum vote, much more complex than your 57i type kit and gives good, proven results... however its expensive. I've got a K&N cone on mine, sounds utterly amazing (link in my sig) but could be too loud for some. performance-wise... very little difference TBH.
  18. oh... interesting! without too much effort you can find a whole load of other videos, the guys music collection and by the looks of things his and his girlfriends CV's!
  19. *ahem* http://rallycat.diodeware.com/group_b_realrally_rally4u_net.wmv the ... in the middle broke the link ;)
  20. when i was selling my valver i got a phonecall from someone asking if it was the 1.6 version, and someone else kindly rang me up just to tell me he thought corrados were really rather crap. nice.
  21. i did that at my old office and 'almost' slid into the bosses jag as he pootled into the carpark miding his own business. whoops!
  22. I love the 'look at me, i'm so cool...feck I slipped!' bit at the end. and yes i wish i could do that in my corrado :(
  23. yeah, i doubt its going to hike the power up to something insane, but its an interesting bit of technology, and reducing lag is always a good thing! I think diesel trucks have had these for a while too.
  24. apparently this is a bit like variable valve timing, only it adjusts the blades on the turbine and gives the same effect as having a twin turbo setup. its not new technology, but its new to petrol based cars. http://www.autoblog.com/entry/1234000257069829/
