  1. Yeah you were kicking a fair bit of smoke out on one run I saw, I'm sure you got a 13 something on at least one run I saw. Your mates Vento was pretty cool, he managed to get a good few runs in, looks a quick car that. To be fair no one seemed to be having a good day, everyone seemed to be having trouble launching and loads of people were having problems. You werent on your own by a long shot.
  2. I saw a couple of your runs on the weekend and you getting pushed off the strip! What was your best time in the end? I think I videod one of your runs but it was on a mates camera so I'll have to ask him. Think you were the quickest VR of the day. Was really annoying how they kept running all the bikes though, was quite an unfair ratio to the cars I thought.
  3. This evening on the back of a transporter going down the M1 as I was joining at J34 (Sheffield) southbound. Was a blue one I think, sorry not sure on flavour.
  4. Yep we do! We've been using them for a while now with no problems. I change mine annually.
  5. M reg VR at the ladybower inn today around 3pm.
  6. I often wish I'd have done something with cars at uni but then its quite nice to keep the hobby and work things seperate I reckon. Although a mate who works at Bentley as a test engineer seems to really enjoy his job as you can imagine! Back on to the type r, a friend at work bought a brand new one about 18 months ago. He didnt like it and started spending a fortune modding it (Honda tuning parts are ridiculously expensive) and still didnt like it. Sold he flogged and bought an S2000. He liked that but found it far too impractical so he now has a 55 plate previous generation Type R. He loves it! Its very basic really inside but to me that is what a hot hatch should be, not too weighty and good fun. Its the model I told him he should buy 18 months ago when he started looking for a new motor!
  7. So what would you use in a standard VR then Mr Wire? I myself use a mix. When using the car for pootling to work etc when I know I'll be stuck in traffic I'll put 95 in. If I'm going on a decent journey in it and know I'll be going on some decent roads it will get the good stuff.
  8. Kick Ass er kicks ass! Good film, original take on a done to death genre. 9/10
  9. NICE! That looks in lovely nick, nice to know it will be looked after. I'd quite like a nugget myself.
  10. 17k miles with T1R's  that's unheard of! - do you ever get off the motorway?!? Hardly do much motorway mileage to be honest. It is an auto which helps I should imagine. The ones that are on the front that were on the back have got loads of life left in them too.
  11. Oh and all that rubbish about the other website not being anything to do with them imo is absolute rubbish. They shouldnt let anyone user their name if its nothing to do with them. If they were any sort of decent setup they'd want complete accountability for anything to do with their name and product.
  12. Posting this on my G40 forum if you dont mind. Whether he is right or wrong that is possibly the worst customer service I've ever seen. Wow.
  13. My T1R's have worn like that on the edge too. They were on the front but are now on the back and the outside edges are worn a lot more than the middle although saying that the middles are now nearly at the wear indicators. Checked the other day so need to get them changed. They have lasted for over 17k miles mostly on the front! The ones that were on the back and now on the front have still got loads of tread left.
  14. no, was only one tiny bit of corrosion on the lip of the seal area, I'd probably buy a second hand tailgate and get that sprayed than repair one that has corrosion going under the glass. Thats exactly what I've got. Only noticed it because it has pushed the rubber up where the paint has bubbled. Need to get it sorted before the winter and it gets any worse.
  15. Did they take the screen out when they painted it too, how hard a job was that? I have a small amount of rust to sort on the tailgate that looks like the screen will need to come out.
  16. Spot on. Never, ever park next to a people carrier! My general rule is to park next to a car that a) is clean b) is worth over 10k. Obviously thats after checking for any other rados :) Thats always a good one, I always try that. No matter how empty the car park and how far away from anywhere else you park, I always come back to a mahosive 4x4 or people carrier next to me. Boils my piss.
  17. I managed to just get the socket in there and a wrench and change it over. I didnt even lose that much coolant. I had to buy a special socket from GSF to fit over the switch in case you havent got one. Make sure they supply you with the right switch if you get it from GSF too as I had to go back as they gave me the wrong one the first time.
  18. Sheffield city centre near the Cathedral, last night, Friday the 11th. Green C on Audi wheels. About 5:15? Not sure if you saw me because I was behind you in the other lane sat at the lights.
  19. I've just cancelled my AA this morning because of the renewal they wanted. Glad I did now. We've gone with the RAC now and used our Tesco clubcard vouchers to pay for it!
  20. Rang my local stealer on the 20th of May and was told it was on back order. It arrived yesterday and the missus picked it up today. £36.05 with 5% discount. Will have a crack tonight I think.
  21. I use a chain whip but with an old bit of cam belt or something on the pulley so you dont damage the pulley as the chain whip digs into it.
  22. This was my top pad tensioner at around 112k. We had no noise at all from the engine but this was what was left of the pad. Fair enough maybe there is a bit of scare mongering but I would advise that at the least the top tensioner is checked. It wont take long or cost anything. Is it wort the risk?
  23. I went into the peak district yesterday in the roasting heat with the aircon on. Wasnt long before I turned it off and opened the sunroof. We wait 11 months 3 weeks and 4 days for the couple of days of hot weather so I like to make the best of it! When I was driving around Australia over Christmas in 40+ degree heat, thats when I really needed the aircon.
  24. Straw that broke the camels back for me if they do. :brickwall:
  25. We were one of the rare breed who wanted an auto Corrado. I knew the 8v existed but knew how rare they were and didn’t really look for one tbh, we just looked for a VR. Having heard how economical the 8v is now I may have been tempted. As said your appealing to a very limited market for a car such as that, if you are in no rush to sell I would hang on, you’ll find your buyer eventually.
