  1. I bit the bullet and bought the full vcds cable. Works straight out of the box, no waiting or comms errors.
  2. I get this too, What I do is select the text and pictures and then copy it before I hit edit and then paste into the blank box. Works a treat. Bit of a nuisance!
  3. I'm hoping not, I'd like my garage space back!
  4. Ahhh, The Autometrix track day! I've done that a few times when I lived in Oxfordshire! I've had a few messages on other forums regarding the front seats as a pair so unfortunately it would be too much on this occasion. Good luck finding something tho! It must be one of the final touches to getting yours good again after previous owners did their best at ruining her!
  5. You do a billet mk2 gear knob, how about a Corrado one?
  6. I wish I was mate, i'd have sold all of this stuff already! When/Where is it?
  7. They would, but they are for 280mm brakes so would be a bit small. It's the reason I didn't fit them to mine, I decided to go for 288's instead of 280's.
  8. I'll send you mine if you give let me your address.
  9. I'm having a bit of a garage clear out and looking to make some space! Items are located in Lincolnshire, LN4 Postcode. Collection is preferred but the smaller stuff can be posted at cost if needed. I'm open to the idea of offers but don't take the mickey and remember that due to the unique way in which the Royal Mail rip people off, I can't post out everything for £5! Corrado door cards - Good condition. £30 Corrado rear humped bench - Good condition, carpeted back of seats in very good condition! £40 Passenger Seat - Very good condition - The drivers seat is available for Free if you want it, it's pretty well worn though! If it doesn't go, I'll turn it into an office chair at some point! - SOLDPower steering cooling pipe - £5 VR6 Cross member with engine mount - £SOLD VR6 rear engine mount - £15 VR6 Girling rear brake calipers - Fully working £30 VR6 Lucas rear brake calipers - untested and painted red by a previous owner! They look to be in good nick to be fair but won't promise anything - £15 VR6 Front Brake Calipers and carriers - Fully Working £45 VR6 Front hub assembly with ABS Sensor and ball joint - £50 for the pair VR6 Cat and lambda sensor - Working when removed - £30 VR6 Wishbones - £25 the pair VR6 Flywheel and pressure plate - £30 Blasted and Powder coated 280mm brake shields - SOLD Blasted and Powder coated 280mm brake carriers and Blasted and primer coated bare 280mm calipers (no pistons, seals, bleed nipples etc) - £40 Brake cooling wings - £15 - Apparently these are "eBay RARE!!!"
  10. You don't need to hack anything from the front or gearbox mounts and 15mm from the rear engine mount should be plenty!
  11. Spot on mate! The coolers are normally pretty efficient.
  12. Shame really to have it broken seeing as there are so few on the road, let alone nice ones! It must sell easy enough?
  13. You are breaking the red one? It looked mint!
  14. My C had 192k on it and at that mileage, a rebuild is not an economical option when a more powerful, efficient and cheaper 24v is available. As you also say, spares and ease of maintenance is also a big consideration.
  15. Should be no need to swap over the oil cooling system, the AUE oil cooler fits happily. The only time you have issues are when you use the R32 oil cooler. I'd suggest you change the temp sensors. It is probably working well, your sensor may just be past it's best. To tell the difference, the 24v cooler sticks out of the engine above right of the filter housing, the 12v sits directly on the engine.
  16. I posted this up in another thread earlier.... I'm wanting to know when it can replace my 24v conversion!
  17. Just seen this link pitch up on the interweb! Interesting if it does go into production! Link!
  18. Cheers mate! Hope you had a good week away!
  19. Hi Dave, Any idea on when the second batch of fittings will be sent out?
  20. Have you got the drivers door in the same colour? Sorry for the hijack!
  21. That's all there is to do! Easy, My local garage charged £40 to press out the old stuff and press the new bushes in. I also got my wishbones blasted and powder coated as they were out and I wasn't using the car.
  22. Bit more problem fixing today, My air direction controls were stuck on windscreen and I feared the worst after knowing how brilliant the stock heater controls are! I whipped out the controls and disconnected the cables. Luckily for me everything worked perfectly, it just needed a touch of grease as the old stuff had dried out. I then manually exercised the cables and found that the face/windscreen vent didn't have full travel. Hmmm A bit of investigation required! I then took off the front cover, which is held on 2 10mm plastic nuts and found that the old foam was way past it's best! On closer inspection, the gears had jumped a few teeth, so simply drop out the intermediate gear, put the cable and the flap at full deflection and pop it back in! The gear is underneath the housing, in the middle of the picture, not obvious unless you have it in pieces! Everything worked a treat! Quick rebuild and 3 hours later, it was as if nothing has happened! Now All I need to fix with the controls is the fan speed, Stuck on 4 or nothing, I was going to simply swap the resistor pack with a spare I had in the garage, only to find my spare has 4 cables and the Corrado has 5 Nevermind, I'll find a thermal fuse at some point and swap it over! In other news, I'll hopefully be getting some new rear suspension bolts next week along with some brake pipe and then I can start rebuilding that! I need to get my Passat daily through it's MOT on Friday first and then I can see what spare funds I have for the Corrado. Getting some new rear bushes fitted on Friday as well when the barge is being MOT'd so that means EVERY suspension bush is new with the exception of suspension top mounts, but they're fresh and recent anyway! Good times! Also painted up the rear crash bar, shimmed the rear bumper and refitted. Bumper looks modern now with close and even panel gaps!
