Radiator Lower Fixing Bracket in Stainless
Sean_Jaymo replied to daves16v's topic in Suppliers Forum
Cheers for the pm mate, I'll pay you over the weekend. Do these come with bolts? I only ask as the reason I need these to start with is that the old bolts sheared in them! -

Hi Dave, are there any spare sets going? If so, I'll take one pair! Sean -

It's ok mate, they're different. Do you have a mk4 02J shift Tower? -
More compliance to the handling to aid with the heavier engine. The 5 stud thing is to do with braking torque being sent back through the hubs. 5 bolts have a higher shear strength than 4 do, important when bigger wheels 'could' be fitted and you run bigger brakes.

I'm after the 02j cable change and tower. Cable change from a mk4 not a TT please. -
It is when you know I spent that on new stainless ones a few years ago.

temperature creeping up in traffic, is this normal?
Sean_Jaymo replied to DubGarry's topic in Engine Bay
You need to change the thermo switch on the radiator, that's stage one, the yellow is stage 2 and the black if you have it fitted is for stage 3 - which you should never get to without having both switches broken and idling for a while in the south of France. The stage 3 is really only used if you have aircon fitted. The blue switch is for the ECU to monitor temps. ---------- Post added at 1:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:08 PM ---------- The switches "can" loose their accuracy over time with age, new switches are pretty cheap from the dealer and probably all best changed for new items if they are more than say 5 or 7 years old. This is not to say that old switches can't work perfectly, some still do but most will wear out with age. -

Do you have the gear change linkage? I'm after a 5 speed one. -
Mk4 item doesn't bolt straight up unfortunately, I tried the other day! It's quite a way off, maybe you can bodge a hybrid together but not simply.

There are kits around but I think the turbo stuff isn't easy to find for the aue lump. I think it's something to do with the variable inlet manifold not being fitted to the aue lump. -
Maybe so, but it may show a trend...

Does everyone on here have a B5(.5) as a daily?! I thought it was just me but there appears to be lots of people!
-
Looking good Sean!
-
I'm getting this as well, almost all day on tapatalk and quite a few times on chrome on the laptop!

A picture hides a thousand lies sometimes! Still looks great though!

I wish my aqua was that tidy! Instead, it's full of lacquer peel, chips and dents!

£90 delivered for the member and cover. It's from a vr6, but I think it still fits perfectly fine.
-
What's the fit and finish like? I'm tempted to get one when I've got the engine conversion sorted and on the road. I'd paint mine though.
-
I'll get a photo for you mate. Do you want both the cross member and rad support panel? It's got some surface rust, nothing that can't be blasted and coated to bring back to new tho.
-
No problem mate.
-
That looks pretty smart mate!

It's also stamped up in good old plain numbers and letters to the left lower corner when you are looking at the crank pulley. You can see it with the drivers wheel removed. It's in 2 places on the 24v, I can't remember where the other place is but I know I have that number there on my AUE lump.
-
Marazion, beautiful place! I've also got one if you need it.
