Misc Parts inc Arch Liner, ABS ECU's, Trim, Badges etc etc
GlosterOx replied to CazzaVR's topic in Parts for Sale
Will take the rear boot trim ÷ grommets Andy, will sort out collection etc at a later date? Ian. -
From memory, about 222,500 miles. Picture is the parts on the workshop floor, as removed - The engine was still quiet and healthy to my ears!! Ian.
-
I'm pretty sure I've got a good working one in the shed, if yes do you want to borrow it? Probably got a 2nd hand ISV as well! Ian.
-
Mine had the chains, guides and tensioners replaced about 18 months ago. Ian.
-
Not quite Chris, she is approaching 227K now. Ian.
-
The Part Nr according to Vagcat should be 867601173 - Perhaps Google it or try VW direct? Ian.
-
Yes, it is the MK1 Golf as I have one fitted as well! Ian.
-
What about the Mobil 1 Extended Life 10W/60, is that too viscous and has anybody tried it? Ian.
-
The recommended is 10W/40 so I would say that the 50 means it is slightly thicker and less viscous - Happy to be proved wrong though? Ian.
-
I use Fuchs Titan 10w/50 fully synthetic in my high mileage engine, comes highly recommended. Ian.
-
Just bought and paid for one of the larger one's Dave! Ian.

Having "inherited" Jay's car then I can recommend this wholeheartedly!! Ian. -
I will check them at the weekend and let you know Martin. Ian.
-
Do you need Centre Caps as well? Ian.
-
I have a set of 4 that need a refurb, where are you based? Ian.

If I remember Stuart there are a couple of plastic water flanges on the front and end of the cylinder head that are prone to cracking/leaking, as Sean says the telltale is the pink "stains" from the coolant leaking. Might be worth looking here if you need some: http://www.vwspares.co.uk/corrado_cooling.php Ian.

Hi, 0280130040 is a Bosch Part Nr, found it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-0280130040-Temperature-Sensor/dp/B004Z0WS9M 026906161 is a VW Part Nr but it is listed for the Scirocco with the 16V PL engine rather than the Corrado? I would go with the Amazon one personally? Hope that helps. Ian.

It was the BMW E30(?) Wipers that Rocket Ron and others have fitted that you have to modify slightly to stop them rubbing on the Bonnet. Ian.

Under bonnet silver sticker (on underside of bonnet)
GlosterOx replied to WheelerDave's topic in Engine Bay
Remember seeing them on E Bay ages ago Dave, possibly as part of a set - Positioned in the centre towards the front underside of the bonnet? If you can get it remade I would be up for one. Ian. -
Early one's were black, later they changed to blue - They are all a sod to get off, hence why people do the Golf MK4 upgrade. Ian.
-
The 1H0 Part Nr indicates that it is the 4cyl version and not the VR6. Ian.
-
That is an aftermarket one rather that genuine VW and the Part Nr is different to Vagcat, which lists the VR one as 021121407? Think you will find that the one listed is a 1.8/2.0 4 cylinder one. Ian.
-
Afraid not, VR6 one's are now obsolete according to my dealer. Ian.

Mk3 sunroof and other sunroof repair observations
GlosterOx replied to andrewchapple's topic in Exterior
Great write up, thanks Andrew! -
I believe the MK3 Golf 2.0Lt 8v engine is (virtually) the same, might be worth checking? Ian.
