  1. just figured out how to add photos - sorry the lightings not great - sun doesn't shine much in Cardiff! More photos to come in a bit
  2. Hello to all. I've been a member for a few months now and have had my C for about the same time but I thought I'd start up a thread, partly because I'm going to need quite a bit of advice on various things and partly for me to keep a log of what I'm doing and when! OK, a bit about the car. She's a 1995 Corrado VR6 Storm in Classic Green (first question...is this the same/similar as Dragon Green?!) with 89k on the clock. When I bought it, it was completely standard except for a complete closure alarm, tracker and the head unit. Everything works and the only real glitch so far is the ABS light occasionally coming on and not going out...new sensor the most likely thing? As far as I can tell the ABS is still working but haven't had the need to find out really. As she's my only car (I also have a bike for the summer months and when the C's in the garage!), having her off the road is a pain and keeping her in good nick is the priority. I've been analysing the pages on the forum and have now got a list of things to do to her. Initially I was torn between keeping things standard or tweaking a few bits here and there, but this place is addictive and I now have the following list! 1. Lowered on coilovers (thinking KW but open to suggestions) 2. New exhaust (again, would love some advice on this in the future) 3. Re-map 4. Induction kit (thinking BMC CDA) 5. 288/280 brake upgrade 6. Clear side repeaters 7. De-wiper the rear 8. Uprated headlight loom 9. 16" alloys 10. Moonroof 11. Red brake calipers 12.Red rear lights 13. DDI dials 14. A trip to Stealth for some extras! Quite like the sound of a turbo! 15. Sort out a couple of small patches of rust on the drivers side door and rear sill Obviously, this is going to bleed me dry and take some time but I'm hoping to keep a log on here and get a fair bit of advice too. My first couple of months has been spent doing not a lot to her but I'd like to get things moving now and get cracking! On that note, today has been spent : -Changing the side repeaters to clear -De-wipering the back -Putting in nice new Phillips Extreme headlights (got my headlight loom on order from KUR2Y!) I'm going to get some photos up as soon as the weather gives us a break but in the meantime I'd love comments off people regarding my wishlist! Is there anything I've missed which people think are must-haves? What's the consensus on coilovers and exhausts? I don't want to sound like a boy-racer but I do want to grin when I put my foot down! Anyway, I've got my name down for a get-together in South Wales for the karting so I hope to meet some of you there and get some more ideas.
  3. That looks like a really nice job! Do any C's come with red badges as standard? Is it just Storm's that have silver ones? Think I'll get and do mine at some point. Spray lacquer or pot?
  4. Had a look at those (after I had mine!). Hopefully they'll be OK. Have you tinted your rear lights too? I know it sounds like a daft question but do you tint the outside or inside of the lens? Outside is easier but I'm think inside may be a nicer result?!
  5. Great, cheers. And they work OK? Yeah, got resistors but again, wondering if they're the right ones now! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-x-LED-INDICATOR ... m153.l1262 Bit of tinkering gonna be needed I think. Added to my list of purchases will now be a soldering iron! :)
  6. Kempy - wish I'd read this thread before buying my LED's!! I've gone and bought the ones with the same fitment as yours I think! Bugger! :mad2: How did you switch them over to a bayonet fitment?
  7. Mine's silver but I fancy a red one too to be honest! Can you get a pic up once it's painted and back on?
  8. I did have a cheeky check when he was doing it and didn't see any rust so I know it'll be because of this if it starts. Cheers for the info re : OE screens etc guys, much appreciated.
  9. Well he's been and gone and hopefully the problems solved. Thankfully it does have Sekurit marked in the corner and the bit that I though looked the messiest is actually done in the factory where they manufacture the screen so that's a bit more reassuring (I think!). He's glued the trim back in which I don't think is exactly what's supposed to be done but it looks neat and doesn't seem to be leaking, fingers crossed!
  10. No idea of the make. Didn't even think that there would be differences to be honest. They're coming tomorrow to sort it out but it's p***ing it down here so maybe not! Fingers crossed it doesn't leak overnight.
  11. Lovely jubbly. Cheers KUR2Y, put me on the list for a 3 relay loom. Let me know when you want payment and my address details and I'll PM you. Thanks again.
  12. Cheers Junkie. Stuck a post up for KUR2Y so hopefully using a headtorch to find my way home will soon be a thing of the past! How can VW have made such a cool coup and stuck that rubbish in for lights?! They were obviously thinking ahead - what would people like us do on their Sundays without glitches like that!
  13. Hi KUR2Y. Really interested in getting an uprated loom please but can you please explain the difference between the 2 relay and 3 relay options you do. Sorry if you're repeating yourself from elsewhere in the thread. Also how do you like payment? Paypal or direct transfer is fine if you do it. At the moment I'm running the standard loom so is it easy enough to swap it over to your one? I'm after bright and reliable and mainly on normal beam as I don't use full beam all that much. Will also be upgrading the bulbs to Phillips Extreme + 80% on the recommendation of many others. Cheers matey.
  14. Hi guys. Interesting thread and have been looking at uprating the bulbs I am using - currently running some crap 'Xenon upgrade bulbs' off eBay. Tried to cut some corners and use cheapies but paid the price! They look OK when you test them against a garage door (as many of the test pictures have) but in use they're about as poor as the originals. Think I'm going to go for the Phillips 80% + ones but I am interested in uprating the headlight loom too. Only problem is I have no idea what this involves! I am what you'd call a car-novice....is it something that I could tackle or is it an auto-electrician job? Any help would be much appreciated.
  15. Bugger! Just had my screen replaced by them. The guy came out to my place of work, was nice enough but said the dreaded words - "Any problems, just call us". I called them. The trim around the outside of the screen peeled off when I was on the motorway (I was progressing, admittedly! :D ). The fitter is coming back on Monday so I'm going to have a damn good check around the inside and outside of the screen before he does after reading this thread - any damage will be noted and he'll get a bloody good ear-bashing over it!
  16. Agreed. Is this being released in the UK then? I expect some lobbyist somewhere doesn't allow it as it is too disturbing. Shame that the reality of what they are warning about is even more disturbing and that's the whole point. Very good ad in my opinion.
  17. Hey all. Got a green VR6 Storm in Cardiff - been havinf a few niggle recently but back on the road now! Heading down to Swansea for a blast tomorrow so toot if you see me!
  18. Hiya guys!! I'm fairly new to the Corrado scene but if you see me about then give a toot! Green VR6 Storm can be seen commuting between Cardiff and Bridgend about 7.30am! She's my first Rado and going a dream. 87K on the clock but drives like new and pulls like a train! Puts a smile on my face every time! News of any meets would be great - looking to get a bit more involved if time allows.
