  1. have you checked that there is definately a spark?
  2. bum! an uncle of mine has a unit you could probably use if you'd like? let me know if i can help
  3. i'm excited for you joe, especially now the better weather is here
  4. have just returned from the rollers and still smiling, take a look whySAM_0219.JPG[/attachment:yw10102p] the old 9a has made 152.6bhp and 132ft-lb of torque from a bit more fuelling and a smidge of ignition timing adjustment
  5. very nearly forgot  last night i also fitted my new revotec fan and supports that i bought from DG Autotech removal of old, worn out, skanky stuff: side by side: and in the bay (excuse the mess! i'm working on it): i've run the car up to temp and the fan kicks in and cools it in a hurry unlike the tired orignal i've taken out and also there's a load more room to work in now. i'm very happy with this
  6. great colour combo. looking forward to this rolling out
  7. another update now i've done a few bits. the lambda wiring has been replaced and a new vw lambda and milltek de-cat pipe put in place at the same time. this is all looking and sounding good now and has fixed all of my running issues. I've also been out and put on two new front tyres after getting a bit tired of the mismatched budgets that were on when i bought the wheels trying to throw into the nearest ditch every time. This was all good until the next day when one of my rear wheel bearings ate its cage and got a bit graunchy. so off to the grandparents to replace the bearings and got a bit stuck :brickwall: have a look at the head of the bolt that retains the calliper carrier. I could not shift this at all, tried lots of heat the attacked it with a cold chizzel as you can see the big notch in the side of it. ended up employing my uncle bob who was handily there as well and stole my nan's clio  next up i've had the car in for four wheel allignment. it's now fantastic to drive, made a huge difference and should look after the tyres better. to finish the day off the car's had a wash and i've removed the rear wiper. i think that it has made a huge difference to the rear end, wasn't too sure at first and now have just finished rubbing in some boiled linseed oil to the black plastics before and after (it was dark by this time) Last on the list was to change the spark plugs that i've had kicking around for about a month now. There's more to come with a set of 280mm front brakes, currently having the callipers and carriers shot blasted then i'll paint them up. i have a set of brembo discs but undecided on which pads to use?
  8. having suffered a lot of problems on my 9a i'd suggest lambda also. worth getting it plugged in to a diagnostic machine and if it is the lambda buy a genuine vw one
  9. back tracking several post i should have checked this thread ages ago with regards to getting my kw v1s fitted and people asking what they are like. The best answer is they are fantastic for what i use the car for. i live in countryside and also drive the car relatively hard at times. the road handling is so much better but still very comforable in the car. going back a few posts about weitec hicon and kw being the same coilovers just not stainless, i was informed that the damping units were different
  10. love this car. I've followed it on clubgti since i got into mk2s
  11. i've been and dug the car out today after being away for work. It's a bit sorry for itself as just before Christmas the wiring to the lambda got damaged in heavy snow and has been in its safe mode since then whilst waiting for wiring repair kit and plugs to arrive from germany. here's some pics from today hopefully will get it in a garage soon to be fixed
  12. top work, have tomorrow off :norty:

  14. very tidy :notworthy: i reckon a silver badge in the grill instead of the black and you're well away. would be good to put together a local cf meet if we could drum up some interest. there are a few kicking around now
  15. your car is looking very good. where in woodbridge are you? will have to keep a look out as i'm often out that way oli
  16. yes, tramps pee may work equally
  17. i haven't put anything up for a while but have a few more things done starting with KW coillies and new top mounts all round. This is how it's sitting now i need to wind the front up about 10mm then off to have the camber setup. what do we think?
  18. have you tried over brands? the cheaper the better

    bosch lambda

today after talking to rhuben at tuning werkes and ordering a milltek decat pipe as my cat is on its last legs as well, i asked if he could supply a lambda also. he said that best bet was to use a genunie one and got me a slightly better price and hopefully i'll also be able to get the plug for the car side. when it all comes through i'll put up a part number

    bosch lambda

The cheapest I've found is around the £50 mark. Just spoken to VW who want £135! Sounds like a lot to me. I asked about just supplying the connectors and the chap told me they have no way of ordering them unless I have a part number. So could anyone supply me with the part numbers for the lambda connectors if possible please
