Even though I paid back on 1 December 2015 under the new regime I've never had the donator status.... Others show as donator, is this due to the old regime or the new?

We bought the above 2 years ago and its always lost coolant, its had timing belt, water pump and radiator and it still loses coolant on long runs. This is typical of head gasket failure on these cars, its now been replaced with a 2010 Scirocco. The car is currently complete and runs well - its the fastest PD diesel we've owned so almost certainly remapped but no paperwork to support this. I thought I'd offer the running gear here first as an engine conversion package before I strip and sell in bits and bobs, its a non air con car so lends itself well to conversion into an older car. Engine with all ancils, 6 speed gearbox, loom, ecu, clocks keys etc etc £400

177K miles, its got stamps in the book but everything is well worn, miss fire was the reason I stripped the engine, cam is worn badly, 5 injectors tested and cleaned (one needed a nozzle, another reshimming), loom fell to pieces. At the end of the day a van is a workhorse, few get much in the way of love, the van was motd 2 months before I bought it, I'll tapatalk some pics. My advice is to avoid the 2.5 engines in the T5 due to engine access and costs (£3.5K buys a used engine, £7K for new), there's plenty of 1.9s for a couple of hundred quid (I have one).

I notice it has an alarm? Does it have an immobiliser too? That may be stopping you cranking over the engine?
-
Or put the car in first gear, jack up one front wheel and use that to turn over the engine, plugs out make this easier. Looks tidy body wise?

The battery will be of no use after 10 years dormant, it may power up the dash lights, but cranking the starter takes a large amount of power (current). If you put a spanner on the crank pulley will the engine rotate?

Tapatalk app makes uploading pics from a phone easy. I use photobucket to host pics. You'll need to drain the old fuel off before filling with fresh stuff, probably best to change the filter too and check all pipework for leaks once pressured up.
