  1. Cover the front edge of the door and rear edge of the wing with masking tape to prevent damage to the paint on both, before you remove / refit the wing.
  2. Imbalance can also be due to tyre pressures. Emissions could also be coolant temp sensor. Can you post a pic of the fail cert and emissions fail info?

  5. My reply copied here from your other thread Nipples - wire brush them to excess, dose with penetrating fluid, then lightly tap the ends with a hammer until they begin to distort, more penetrating fluid. Clamp a good set of molegrips to the nipples and rock them gently too and fro, if they don't undo with gentle persuasion go back to the hammer again. Renew the nipples when you get them out.
  6. You might want to state with or without ABS
  7. You may get away with cleaning up the brake pipes with emery cloth providing they're not too bad, obviously they're a safety related item so this should only be seen as a short term fix, a smear of grease will keep away further corrosion When was the last time the engine was serviced? Rear brake imbalance is likely to be seized pads in the carriers - strip, clean and copper grease the places they touch. The rear brake compensation valve wants spraying with penetration fluid, wire brushing the pivot point, then push / pull on the lever or a tap with a hammer if excessively seized

Not on mine, you can see grey foam tape where the clip should be My reconditioned sensor

After changing my pump assy I've had no codes for inlet / outlet valves, I have had pedal sensor and a wheel sensor faults intermittently. When you fix the main faults the intermittent faults then appear, my pedal sensor seems to be stuck in with some sort of double sided sticky foam tape, I don't fancy snapping it off in the servo so its a job for over its winter sorn period. I have my old pump and plan to open it up and check for dry solder joints inside
  10. I gave them 5 / 10 Positives, free selling Negatives, difficult to navigate, not user friendly.
  11. Has anyone else received a survey from panjo via email?
  12. I did mine outside the garage so I could open the car doors fully. I folded the rear seats down and used the boot for storage. The dash itself was stored in the garage I used dog poo bags for screws, caps and clips etc tying the handles to the parts themselves through one of the screw holes Some of the screws are at difficult to reach angles with a straight srewdriver, use a ratchet and posidrive bit to access them Replace the flap sponges while the heaterbox is out, I didn't and regret it.
  13. I upload to photobucket, a hosting site, then copy and paste the img URL to your post http://s22.photobucket.com/ Its free
  14. When I uprated the headlights on my mk2 I didn't remove the dim - dip resistor, ignition off I had sidelights or dipped beam as selected, with the ignition on selecting side lights lit up dipped beam (as did selecting dipped beam). Dim - dip was used to get improved side lights (actually using the dipped beam bulbs) when the ignition was on and sidelights selected to drive with, it enabled dipped beam bulbs at reduced voltage via the resistor (think of it as a half way house setting between side lights and dipped beam using the dipped beam bulbs). Because you're using the dipped beam feed to trigger the relays in the uprated loom the reduced voltage via the resistor is enough to fire the relay, hence removing the resistor when fitting the uprated loom.

  16. Oil level is critical on autos, does the oil look clean or smell burnt? A VCDS scan would also help pinpoint any issues with the gearbox
  17. But then you're in a position where you don't know a bodyshop to repair the rot and you're on a train and your car open to the elements. It would be better to contact the fitters for them to come to you IMO, even if the price is inflated to account for their travelling time / expenses etc
  18. Why not source a used rear axle and rebuild that before selling your old one on?
  19. So are you going to travel from Dublin to Sheffield? My advice is to contact a local bodyshop and ask who they use to remove and refit glass for them
  20. 180 miles and over 4 hours round trip, you'd have to wait for the sealant to cure and what if there's rot to sort?

A storm is just a list of options, badges (obviously) and a downgrade to MK3 golf wheels. Corrados come in some fabulous colours (as well as blue and green) in standard form, I'd find it difficult to walk past a blackberry / sherry pearl, grey pearl with electric recaros to look at a standard storm....

Would you choose a storm over a car with speedlines and electric cloth recaros cloth for example?
