  1. The way I look at it these cars are 20 years old, if you replace the chain kit because of age you may as well do the clutch while you're there. I've seen enough cylinder heads where there's corrosion between the galleries and by now the valve stem seals will be old and hard too. Then there's wear and tear on items you remove to access all this and breakages on the way too. If you just do the chains sods law says the head gasket will fail a month later, IMO its better to wait for a failure and do the lot as and when. If a prospective buyer is put off by a sweet running engine that's not had its chains done, point him towards a new Corsa on a personal lease plan.

    LPG is a by-product of the petrol industry, its much cheaper to buy, if you get approx. 30mpg now converted to LPG pound for pound you'll get the equivalent of 50MPG. http://www.fleetnews.co.uk/costs/fuel-prices/ The car would have to be converted and have a gas tank fitted in the boot

  4. That will have the same effect as bolting it down to the scuttle, ie non start? Check the main battery earth to the engine block is connected, tight and clean from oxidisation.
  5. At least now you should be able to scan the car with it running for fault codes. ECUs don't like voltages and more importantly heavy currents where they shouldn't be, so starting in "insulated" mode should be kept to a minimum. I'd take the cover off the ecu first to see if there's any water ingress inside causing a short circuit

  7. My storm has 2 of those plastic clips, one on the rear, one furthest under the scuttle. The nearest the engine has a 10mm nut direct to ground, no plastic or rubber to insulate it. Put a multimeter to the bracket and the neg of the battery, if you have voltage there you may have a short circuit somewhere?

  11. Easy way to check for a spark single handed using a jump lead, the other end is earthed on the block
  12. Bridged it didn't start? Crank it then remove a spark plug to see if it's wet with fuel
  13. So was there clicking with the relay removed and relay plate bridged?
  14. The usual way to do that is a short length of wire with a male spade at each end and a suitable fuse between, remove the relay and plug the wire into the high current (30 and 87?) side of the relay plate replicating the relay. This is just for testing purposes only, not for a journey to work or the shops! Research the relay properly before you bridge the relay plate, don't blame me if the car bursts into flames!

  17. If you have standard rear calliper these should fit, if you have MK4 rears you need the banjo type fitting. In that pic you have one for each calliper and a pair for the axle to body of the car

  19. I cant see why you can't sand then lacquer them as you would all red rears? Plenty of MK1 Ford focus's have had there headlamps flatted and machine polished due to dulling

Do the standard arms have enough pressure to keep the blades on the screen at speed? Group buy for lupo wiper arms and blades? Group buy for conversion blades?
