You can check coolant temp sensor with VCDS? Check the leads for cross firing (sparks jumping across leads) - in the dark and mist water on them with a hand pump spray. Cam sensor can give long cranking when faulty. Don't assume that recently replaced parts can't be faulty, 30 year old VW parts are often more reliable than Chinese replacements....

I think that job is dealt with by that spring contraption?

For £250 I'd want it hand delivered and fitted tbh. Its a bugger for chipping too, not that's too much of an issue on the rear of a car.

The rear of any fibreglass is usually rough / strand finish tbh

They do look like MK3, notice how rusty the pistons are. I'd remove the banjo bolts before shipping, there's 2 types of thread pitch and you can use them to make sure you have the correct ones in your hose kit.

These are the ones found from your part numbers, note the shoulders are square, these I believe are mk5 type callipers These are Mk3/4 note how the shoulders taper? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

They were the wrong ones, you need banjo fittings for the 288mm upgrade

There's some on ebay for £250

Corrado disks are 5 stud, Golf MK2 are 4 stud. You'll need the VR6 callipers and carriers, [pad - disk - pad] thickness is wider on the G60 set up than the factory 16v set up can cope with. Hoses are the same.
-
MK3 288mm callipers and carriers are exactly the same as MK4 288mm which are far more plentiful. I've never seen a MK4 with rusty pistons, they're up to 10 years newer and cheaper too. To fit either MK4 or MK3 to the corrado you need the MK3 288mm disks MK4 disks have a different offset and need 6mm spacers exactly the same as the 312mm do

Could the mounting bracket be modified?
