Mrs had a 2010 Tdi for 2.5 years, nothing but servicing and a pair of rear spring broken - got rid of it after the emissions upgrade due to poorer low throttle response and dpf regen too frequent imo. a lad at work also has a Tdi with 130k and had a bill of around 1200 for the last mot for rear suspension springs, bushes and the electronically adjustable Dampers - they warned him of the impending fate of the front for the next mot..... he’s getting rid of it. The mrs is now a Scirocco spotter, “Ohh my old car” every journey - it’s the only car she’s ever taken any notice of... “Saw a lovely purple one today, have you seen the grey one on the new estate”, follow by “When you going to get your shit cars off my patio”...

They look like mk3? Here’s mine ABS light moves to the light switch area Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
Tank / pump earth would be a place to start? clocks will have a voltage stabiliser chip, mk2s drop to 9v for temp and fuel level. Mk2 clocks also earth on the corner of the cylinder head
-
I wonder if you could use a shift light set up to fire the solenoid?
-
Compare the plugs on the pump you buy are the same fitting. PCV - venting to atmosphere via a filter means you'll be breathing in the fumes, blocking it off means pressure inside the crankcase will ultimately try and find another route to escape, usually via seals and gaskets, ie oil leaks.
-
Do you have the correct wishbones fitted? Too long and you won’t get the strut out wide enough to correct the camber
-
I believe so, original tax disc holder too, but it has now fallen off and landed sticky side down... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Time to investigate more?

Love a free fix!

You'll have to use the VR6 pulley, MK4s have a different amount of ribs?
-
Check the 3 pulley bolts are tight and fluid level? mk4s run higher pressure but many report they work ok

Description speedline 16" alloys and tyres 5x100 et46 57.1 centre 195 45 16 tyres Laptop reveals the refurb is probably a diy job?

Common on scoobys? I’m sure redborbet had them on his car?

Faulty crank sensor gives no spark and no fuel injected (dry plugs after cranking). try a different key?
-
I bought them because I got frustrated trying to buy cups lol.
-
I have a set off a Forrester, centre bore need spigots (rather than opening up as is the norm for scooby rims).

Sorry skim read what you said

If dim dip is connected you'll only have sidelights with ignition off, if they test with ignition on they should fail it - but who drives with sidelights anyway?
-
Dim dip explained. First position on the switch with the engine off puts the sidelight bulbs on First position on the switch with ignition on (engine running or turned off) the dipped beam bulb is supplied with reduced voltage (via the resistor) giving a brightness somewhere between sidelights (piss holes in snow) and dipped beam (position 2 on the light switch) The issue with uprated looms and dim dip Because the dipped bulb is supplied with reduced voltage with ignition on this is the feed used to fire the relay for dipped beam on the upgraded loom, even the reduced voltage is enough to fire the relay (a 9V PP3 domestic smoke alarm battery battery is enough to test a relay if you want to test it out of the car) Removing the resistor reverts the dip dip system to conventional sidelights (position 1 on the switch ignition on or off) / dipped beam (position 2 on the switch). I've never seen an uprated loom for the sidelights
-
Unplug the dim dip resistor and all will be restored ( dim dip will no longer work).
-
If you fit the updated loom and don’t remove the resistor you don’t get side light only with ignition on and you should fail the mot. That switch looks quite new? Shiny terminals. The uprated loom means the switch only carries current to switch the relays, ie tiny, but if the wiring shorts for what ever reason it can pass the max the battery can supply - beyond its capabilities

If it was for LHD wipers it would have a redundant hole on the passenger side for the spindle? Like MK2 Golf. I think the holes are for a jig to help weld in the scuttle panel true?
