Oh but they do! ;) http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CD8QtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DvYqFfoGdDq4&ei=FvO7T57TL8aQ8gOCheCkCg&usg=AFQjCNHysBM7ipf-ltaxbqUFFruv3giAxQ -
Meh looks OK I guess. Not that I am even remotely jealous of course! ;) ;)

Just a thought, but is it something to do with the track rods being adjusted on both sides at some point in the cars life, rather than just the correct way of adjusting one side. So when full lock is applied its reaching the limit of the rack travel and loading it up causing a "lift" and the cracking noise...

To be honest the new lithium powered electric cars go for so long now it makes them much more useable than they ever used to be. Jay -

I remember when I first started racing with a tamiya terrascorcher I always wanted an optima mid, but moved straight to the Yoko in the end. Drove one of the latest 1/10th off roaders a couple of months back when I popped along to a local meet 15 years after I last drove one. I was amazed I could still drive it like it was yesterday! Technology has moved on though with lithium cells and Bluetooth transmitters! -
Power/torque to weight Jim. Nice car btw. Jay

I was in my youth an RC flyer and then moved into RC cars. I used to fly my Dads planes, he had about 15 at any one time and flew in Demos for Laser Engines. I used to fly his Piper Cub (nice and easy and floaty) but also flew his Ultimate, which was an absolute weapon! RC cars was my thing though, used to race in the BRCA nationals and Radio Race Car national series, back in the mid nineties, drove cars like a Yoko YZ10, Schumacher Cat, Losi XX, RC10 B2. etc.. Ordered some ridiculously expensive BBS chrome centre badges for my BBS RC's as I could not stand the tatty ones any longer and don't like the black ones. -

Damn I wish this was not so far away. Still really tempted to make the drive down, but it's probably an 8 hour round trip or more.... -
That sounds like a possible culprit... Jay

Has someone hacked your account?! Stop being silly and go for a drive :) Jay

Just had another sniff (ooo eerrr) and I am relatively convinced its coming from around the MAF area, so is more than likely a split/hole in the carbon canister pipework under the airbox as suggested earlier in this thread. Will pull it apart over the weekend and have a look. Jay
-
Glad it sounds like its sorted mate. I will have to keep this one in the bank with Kev ;) Jay
-
I don't think it can mate. From memory it's fitted then swaged over to prevent it coming out. Jay
-
Yeah car was running and under full pressure. Weird thing is I can't really smell it when I am out of the car, might try getting closer to the fuel pump / filter and having a sniff LOL. Reckon it is more likely to be coming from the engine bay though...

Must admit I have not specifically checked it... Jay ---------- Post added at 12:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:29 PM ---------- My first port of call was the ends of the fuel lines where they join the rail, but they are fine and bone dry. Will have a look at the carbon canister pipework now..... Jay
