Well the new SEAT rack has arrived and its absolutely identical to the VR6 one. It has the same splines and the same pipe unions. I have yet to compare the lock but I have a feeling that will be indentical too. So at somepoint after Ultimate Dubs I will fit it and give the results. Jay -
Perfect. Going to look sweet Mike. Jay

I would just go back first of all and point it out. Don't leave it any longer you need to go back right now. Go in calmly and confidently and say it has to be repaired back to how it was. If they say they will do it say you only want it done by a bodyshop you choose. They will have insurance to cover it and will just have to foot the bill. That will need a fair bit of work to put right as its on one of the most difficult bits of the car to repair. If they don't agree to help contact trading standards as has been mentioned. But don't involve them until you have to, give them a chance first. Jay

Mine is a natural progression really. Aged 16 - MK1 Golf 1.1 (gti/euro look) Aged 19 - Mag featured MK1 Golf GTI (2001 Written off by Pug 405, but the compensation money paid for.....) Aged 21 - Corrado G60 (Silver) Written off by post van. Aged 22 - Corrado G60 replacement that over the last 4 years became my Corrado 24v. It was just an opportunity for me using the money from the written off MK1 to get a nicer VW, which happened to be the G60 Rado. Jay

You say about the brakes, but its not just the brakes themselves, its the way they are matched to the car and the amount of grip it generates under braking that impressed me the most. Stick the porker brakes on a Rado and it will stop well, but nowhere near as well as a porker does. Jay -
No I actually said you can use the original connectors and have to move 1 pin which could be connected using a spade connector. Obviously its up to the owner what they do to their car, I was just expressing my opinion about it. Jay

mmm. I reckon I will have a look under those grommets at some point. Jay -
My issue with that is not the factory look (you can't see the wiring) its the reliability of it. You are talking about 8+ spade connectors on the back of each switch, some of them are tiny. No thanks. Jay

VR6 top mounts will fit all Corrado's no problem. They will fit fine. As Sam said they are going to be higher poundage but on adjustable coilovers thats not too bad a thing, just match the damping. Jay

What the whole car got ripped off and all you were left with was a single wheel  :) :) jay

Thats exactly the sort of thing I would hate to find behind a dash if I bought a car. Jay

The "wide track" part is created by the track rods and not the rack itself. The lock to lock turns I am going to investigate when my new SEAT rack arrives and do a direct comparison to the spare VR one I have. Side by side. The pipe unions are the same. Pump pressure I have yet to establish, but enough people have VR's running in MK2's with MK2 racks and VR pumps.... Jay -

Thats what I said. So I assume they prise out and you can get through to the captive nuts. Surely if they are moving though they would no longer be captive, unless they are in cages rather than welded to the shell? Jay -
No worries. I know how long it took me to find them so glad I could help! :) I think it will look really good on the anthracite rims, just a bit different to the normal polished/silver ones. 195/40's are definately the way to go, 45's would annoy you and you would have wished you got 40's. Jay

Found them http://www.performancelights.co.uk/Sear ... 6&Action=N 6th one down. :) Jay

It took me ages to find the "smoked" crystal side repeaters to go with the rear lights, but I can't remember the name of the website. There were loads of crystal ones about but no smoked. I will see if I can find it for you. D90's will look sweet mate. Jay

Can you get at the captive nuts inside? I figured they would be in the chassis legs? Jay -

You already know what I think of it Asim :) Thing is I just know your choice of cars, so that porker will be as mint as they come. When I come to get one I will be giving you a bell to see if you are selling it :) Jay -

has anyone got the definative torque settings for the subframe/wishbone bolts on a VR. The Bentley ones seem very low to me?? jay -

Nope you would have chewed them up if you didn't remove them as they are slightly longer than the bush is deep so they stick into the subframe a touch. I never saw them on OE bushes only with Powerflex ones. Jay -

They go in the hole through the rear wishbone bush and subframe. They go in after the wishbone is fitted and before the bolt. Jay
