How did you know Furkz :) Jay -
It shouldn't really do much harm in theory, just they will be a bit of a hard ride! Jay
-
38!!!!!!! jesus!!!! I run my fronts at 32PSI and the rears at 29PSI. Jay

I see what you mean but by spacing the 1.5mm U shape away from the original beam you are increasing the I value quite a bit I should think. Fair enough its only 1.5mm steel, which may not make much difference, but if it doesn't it will probably twist and fatigue?? Difficult one.... I don't see why it won't look OK as it is.... Jay

I have a new project for the car. Will not be in for a while and will be a bit of a development thing, but should be interesting. I am not going to say anything until I start it incase it doesn't happen. Its not engine related. :) jay -
Lee - You are effectively doubling the thickness of the beam by doing that which would increase the torsional strength massively, which is what makes the rear beam "work". As Andy said you will end up with virtually a solid rear axle. Jay

That is an older guy down who lives down in Bournemouth. I remeber going to look at the car a few years back when he had it up for sale. Nice bloke and quite a nice VR and obviously he didn't sell it, unless he sold it with his personal plate. Jay -
Best thing to do is give him a bell and ask. He is a really really nice bloke. Just tell him I sent you. Jay
-
If you are anywhere near Bournemouth contact my mate Gary @ insignia coachworks. 01202716808 Awesome painter with a lot of practice on Corrados ;) You would really want the whole side doing as its not worth painting part of the door. Shouldn't be too much. Jay

Solder them on then shrink sleeve them in black, then wrap in proper loom tape. Can't get better than that. jay

9th April Yeah I will definately see it at some point, but there will be a good collection of rados at stealth. Jay

Nah that would cost way too much money and I would never get any of it back selling all my bits ;) Jay -

Cheers Bally. I like the idea of a Turbo, but I want to do a bit more research first and I need to save up £££ :) Yeah I think you're right Shaggsy, it could do with a rebuild after the 16,000 trouble free miles its done since I did the conversion. :) -
Stan are you coming down for the stealth rolling road day? Would be interested in having a look at your conversion. See what he has done differently/the same. Jay

Nothing major. Fancy a bit of trackday action to be honest. Turbo conversion is always in the back of my mind, but I am really enjoying driving it as it is at the mo. :) Jay -
The extended end cap looks interesting though..... Jay

Steering rack issues solutions and swaps....

You will be the first to know what its like Kev. :) You are welcome to have a drive at Stealth to see what you think. Got all the bits brand new from VW for £20 odd. Just gave them the part numbers and they got them in for me no problem. I will post up the part numbers when I do it all as I don't have them here at the mo. Jay -

lol. Typical VW over engineering it! I am going to be fitting my new SEAT rack next weekend. I have also bought new bearings and bushes for the steering column itself, so I will basically be rebuilding the whole steering system. I will post up all the photos and results. Jay -
Thats what I did. was G60 Renshaw now 24v Renshaw ;) Jay

Thanks mate. I have done everything myself or on the cheap so not as much as people seem to think. I have only just moved up North from Bournemouth in Sept. Still miss it. Jay -

Yep that would be Paul. He has only bought it recently and going by previous projects it will not stay standard ish for long. His last car was a 16vG60 MK2. Before that a 4WD 16vG60 Rado :) He has some big plans for the VR engine. Jay -
Check all the bolts for the alternator, pumps etc.. I once had a rattle I could not get rid of for love nor money on my G60, but eventually discovered it was the alternator bolt was loose Jay
-
Did you touch anything else when you replaced the fusebox or since you replaced the fusebox? anything you have fitted, replaced anything unrelated? Jay

G60 Head gasket job -Who can I trust in the N.West?
24V Renshaw replied to Andy T's topic in Suppliers Forum
Andy - You have PM. Jay -
...and words are cheap! He actually quite spot on tho, conversions arent too tricky as long as you plan it out and use you head. Im also assuming you will have some engineering savvy (should go without saying, shouldnt buy a rad unless you know how to weild a spanner  ) Kev, Rossco, have you two done one yet? G60Greeny - I am always willing to do work for money :) Jay
