  1. Anyone else seen this? Absolute steal! Wish I had the dosh...
  2. Anyone heard of/tried this? Basically just involves filling up both male and female MAF plug with dialectric grease (from Maplins etc) and apparently smooths idle and overall performance. Been reading up on it on MKIVs & Briskoda and the general concensus is that it's well worth doing- especially as it only costs a couple of quid. Apparently the grease totally stops any arcing etc within the plug, which could normally occur with just air present instead. The electrical interference/arcing etc could possibly be almost non-existant, but as the MAF is so sensitive, it could affect it. Have ordered some and will give it a go on the vRS. Originally thought that it was one of those cheap placebo type mods, but so many people have had success with it, it's gotta be worth a go.
  3. Have a look on www.sparkplugs.co.uk -pretty darn cheap + they give you all the gap info etc. As for leads, I got a set of Beru leads for my last VR from www.vwspares.co.uk which were identical to the red Beru ones from VW, apart from the colour. Bargainous!
  4. She's looking great, Michael! You made the right decision in keeping her- defo got a good 'un there 8) Can't wait to see pics with the steelies- will look superb. How long are you on dry land for?
  5. Sorry dude, but I would defo get a new one...
  6. Here's my old VR. Speedies in Rover Gunmetal Metallic.
  7. Thought you could still get these from the stealers? The chrome ones are obsolete for sure :( Try GPC in Luton or www.arz-tuning.de (usually pretty good for badges etc).
  8. The Golf MK2 Diesel GB mount is a good, cheap uprated option for the Corrado ;) More firm than standard, but not harsh at all like a VT/poly. The VR GB mounts make a right mess when they let go!
  9. Always worth testing a new stat in a pan of boiling water- not much good to you now. I'd bite the bullet, get a new one and replace it. Now you know what you're doing with the housing etc, it should be quicker/easier than before. At least you'll have peace of mind.
  10. Yeh, room-wise the C is perfectly OK. Roof rack is an option too. I just found having to bend double and twist my back at the same time as lifting Dan in and out, too much, even when he was little. You have to actually climb in to the back to take the baby seat in and out, or even to adjust it. Now we've got two kids, the C wouldn't be big enough. There's no way a double buggy would go in!
  11. Ah, I have a friendly MOT man ;) Mine was a Milltek and I was pleasantly surprised at the noise as I hate chavvy exhausts. The BMC will sound awesome! Mine is on the vRS now 8)
  12. Get a decat + cat back stainless exhaust - would finish the car off nicely 8) Had a decat + front silencer removed from my last VR- made a noticeable difference in power, sounded fantastic (not stupid loud or boomy at all) and even spat flames from time to time 8)
  13. How much? ;) I'm in the same situation as you mate. We've just had our second baby. TBH, you could get by with the Corrado, but as Dave (huge congrats mate!) said earlier, life would be much easier with something else. It would be the three doors that would kill it for me. It's bad enough getting a child in and out of the back of a 3-door hatch, let alone a Corrado. Think my back would last a week at most if I used it every day. I remember a few years back, my sister and her husband were determined to keep their Celica after they had their first child... it lasted a couple of months. They managed for space, but it was the 3 doors + coupe shape that were the prob. The C makes a great second car- mine was fine as long as we only had the baby in the back occasionally. Couldn't do it day-to-day.
  14. 3CM, car is looking superb mate. Makes me miss by green VR :( What's next then? Any more plans?
  15. I prefer the old front end but the new rear
  16. Nice one! Nice colour- think if I was gonna get one now, I'd go for that engine too. Sat in one recently, and the seats are absolutely perfect. Totally comfortable, but sporty too.
  17. I had the same thing with mine- sorted with some Irwin bolt grippers. Defo a must-have for any tool box imho!
  18. Steve, glad my old VR is still going strong! 8) Think it was on around 208K when I sold it? My last VR was on 197K when I sold it, and was probably the fastest, best running C I've owned 8) Gary, just out of interest, how much would you be looking for?
  19. Could well be causing the overheating. Imagine how much it's gonna leak once pressurised! Think they're only around £30, so not too bad :)
  20. I have a spare ECU relay and fuel pump relay. Used, but in perfect working order. Tenner delivered if you're interested :) If you want them new, not sure on the part number, but the relay number is 109 for ECU and 167 for the fuel pump.
  21. No worries, matey 8) Thanks for the quick payment and good comms :)
  22. Well done, mate. It pays to be patient. Get a thread with pics started in the Members' Gallery ;)
  23. The RS is great. Mid range torque is fantastic since the remap- reckon it's prob faster in a straight line than any of my VR6s. Will hopefully find time to fit the RARB this weekend- bit difficult finding time for these things when your up to your eyes in nappies though! Weren't the springs I got for you any good? They looked just the job.
  24. Ron is gonna be amazing when your finished (mind you, a Corrado is never 'finished'!). Always nice to get a box of shiny new bits in the post 8)
