  1. Hi Michael- good to hear your news. Must've been fantastic taking it out for a spin after so long 8) I'm dead jealous! Gonna be spectacular with the R32 lump...
  2. S3, definately. If it was a Leon Cupra R, instead of the Ibiza, I'd have to think about it...
  3. Ha ha! Yep, I was there with my can of white paint, dodging all the Porkas and Bikes that came past ;) Yeh, gave the RS some attention- a good machine polish + Blue Velvet 8) Gave it a quick rinse the other night and all the dust and water just streamed off. Dodo Juice is well worth the money 8)
  4. Congrats on giving up smoking! :salute: 8) Rach and the boys are fine, thanks. You and W will have to pop over for a cuppa sometime and meet the little fella :) Have fun in the C today- cracking weather- perfect for a country road blast
  5. Looks very nice, mate. Good idea. I take it you've sorted out the garage?!
  6. Here's an interesting thread on the subject. I like the adjustability of the Whiteline and, tbh, for road use I defo don't need a thicker bar. Will get it fitted at the weekend and set it to medium. I'll let you know how it goes! What suspension have you had on before? I had FK Konigsport coilies + full polybush set on one of my valvers- absolutely stunning handling, but too harsh for every day and ended up doing my head in! I would definately lower the RS if I had the funds. Absolutely loved the Koni coilies I hd on the last VR- stiffened the chassis up nicely, yet still being comfortable. You defo get what you pay for though...
  7. By all accounts, they're supposed to be an excellent mod. Not sure whether to get the S3 front upper/lower braces yet. They'll stiffen the car up for sure, but could increase the understeer again, negating the RARB to a certain degree. Managed to get my Whiteline adjustable for £90 brand new 8).
  8. Cheers, chap! Hmmmm, V-powerrrrrr! Getting a Whiteline adjustable RARB on Friday, so should get it fitted this weekend. A little oversteer should be fun!
  9. Ah, you've finally got some dark Speedies 8) Gonna look superb when they're all freshly 'furbed!
  10. To begin with, I thought it was quite cool, as it was a very different sound. Started to find it quite embarassing pretty soon though! Think I'd leave the cover off, given the choice between the two
  11. Hopefully it'll be the stat or pump... if it's not, there's some blockage somewhere... This car's really put you through the mill, Jon! Hope this will be the end of your woes :)
  12. Gave the vRS a good clean today- thought it would be rude not to post a couple of pics  Ditched the Forge Splt-R DV- just too much fiddling required to get it spot on. Great piece of kit if you can be bothered! Got a Forge 007P on now. Tried it backwards first to see how it sounded- just couldn't get on with the metallic 'clang' every time the boost was released- also too many people staring! It's now back the correct way. Get a nice 'psshhht' sound now 8) It's been leaking a little boost on part throttle, so got in touch with Forge who sent me an uprated yellow spring to hold more boost, free of charge! Top guys! Next mod will be a rear ARB. After hearing how this transformed the handling on CrazyDave's MKIV Goof, seems like it's excellent bang for buck.
  13. Actually think it looks rather sweet on the Sebrings 8)
  14. As above, these are pretty easy DIY jobs, especially the fuel filter. I managed to change one on my last VR without even jacking the car up. May be worth having a good look under the car to see if the housing needs changing (really cheap from VW) + get some new jubilees. Mine had never been changed and the housing was in bits. 10 min job.
  15. Limited experience = 5 mins in my VR? It's horses for courses really- best thing to do is go and drive as many as you can, and make sure you drive 2-3 of each type if you can. Out the box, the VR is far superior IMHO, and by the time you've modded the G60 to take it to standard VR power, you'll prob be paying more insurance. I loved my G60 (such a punchy, lively drive) but loved all 3 of my VR6s a lot more. Much more refined and yet can still be a complete animal if needed- the sound is to die for. Think the worst thing I found with the G was first and second gear- the ratios are awful!
  16. Sod the 16v and G60, get a VR! Seriously, it may be worth getting an insurance quote- they are only one insurance group higher than the 2.016v and the G60... If you get one of the others, you will almost certainly want a VR one day anyway! The 2.0 8v is the one to go for if you want reliability and fuel economy. It's the slowest of the bunch, but is a tad underrated. Worth a test drive. Other than that, I would get the newest (1994/5) 2.0 16v you can. It's gonna be 4-5 years newer than a G60. At the end of the day, you will have to spend money on whichever one you choose. Any Corrado can end up being a money pit, whatever engine/derivative you choose. I've had 7 Corrados now, and the most reliable was my last VR6. It cost me around £800 in bills over two years. This included everything that needed doing to it, no expense spared, including 2X service/MOT. Not bad at all. Fuel economy wasn't too bad either- regularly over 30mpg, even on short trips. Best fuel economy was my first two 2.0 16v. My G60 (bought off Mr Prod, above /\ ) was also pretty good on the fuel (except in traffic), but ended up being a bit of a money pit.
  17. Was lucky enough to have a sneak preview a few months ago 8) It's looking superb! Well done to the Crazies and everyone else involved- I know a lot of hard work has gone into this. Gotta say, the club is totally coming together again now, after the lull in recent years. It really seems to have a proper direction now and it's a real pleasure to be a member again after all the uncertainty. Jude & Paul have done a cracking job, along with lots of other people (Jim, Eric etc etc). :notworthy:
  18. Phil, yeh the DV will do nothing for the actual performance, but will be much more reliable than the crappy plastic oem DV with the higher boost levels. The stage 1 map from P-Torque is pretty much 'off the shelf', although Will did do a few 'tweeks'. The P-Torque stage 1 is so good that there's little point in going for their custom stage 2 unless you have things such as a FMIC etc. He also said that a full exhaust system works really well with their stage 1 map, and it's fine to put the exhaust on after getting it mapped. Would've loved to get the exhaust done first, but it would be at least £600, so totally out of the question at the mo :( . Someone on Briskoda recently got around 225bhp from a P-Torque Stage 1 & exhaust. Very good figures imho. A full exhaust alone should yield around 15bhp. Hopefully there'll be another Stealth RR day sometime soon, so I'll get the car on the rollers then 8) Would be hoping for 210+ bhp...
  19. Would love to get it on the rollers sometime 8) It's also got a Forge DV and a BMC CDA, so nothing major. It's excellent- I was laughing out loud when I floored it in second- acceleration is savage 8)
  20. Cheers Dave :D Went to Performance Torque in Wolverhampton for one of their own maps- they've had brilliant reviews on Seatcupra.net & briskoda etc. Should be good for between 210-220bhp 8) That'll be it for a while now... full turbo back exhaust + sports cat, coilovers, rear ARB & 17s are my wish list, but can't see those happening for a long while!
  21. Got the N75 changed under warranty, and the car is now like a rocket. Defo feels quicker than any of my VR6s now 8) Doesn't look as nice or handle as well, but it's a damn good compromise. Well chuffed!
