blue95, gave them another soak last night, so hopefully they'll come off today.
-
Undo the bumper bolts- doesn't look like they'll be coming off otherwise!
-
Ha ha! Tell me about it! Got it for such a bargain price though, don't mind a few teething probs ;) Need to get myself a breaker bar tomorrow.
-
Started tonight- those 17mm bumper bolts are impossible! Have given them another good soak in WD40 and will try again tomorrow. All the slam panel screws etc came off easily enough. Just need to get that bloody bumper off! The job as a whole doesn't seem too bad (apart from those bolts). Good excuse to detail the headlights too ;)

Got an Octy vRS- brilliant car! The people who laugh at them are the ones who should be laughed at - complete ignorance/badge snobbery. Anyways, as Jim said, Briskoda.net is an excellent, busy forum.

Toad, grew up in Ciren myself. Parents till live there. Nice place, apart from all the Aggie students
-
Cheers! Will let you know how I get on :?

Check out your ISV. Mine had the same prob, so I cleaned the ISV and made sure it wasn't stuck. Slight improvement, but still not great. Removd the ISV pipework, and discovered that the sponge from inside the black plastic pot behind the ISV had been sucked into one of the pipes. Removed it, and it hasn't remotely looked like stalling since :)

Son of a Beesting, thanks for that, matey- helpful stuff :)

Think they all end up like this. Apparently it's got something to do with the Rado being specifically designed as a LHD car.
-
craigowl, with you there- would also like to know this! Have just ordered new rad + all bolts etc for bumper and slam panel. After discount it comes in at around £170 (inc VAT).
-
Yeh, noticed that earlier. Good price, but not sure if it's copper (as the cheaper ones usually are). He's also got 0 feedback. Think it may be worth spending a little more for peace of mind and the guarantee. Did you take the bumper etc off? Found an old thread on here where someone managed it without doing that. Just removed the fans, cowling, battery etc.
-
Cheers- will call them tomorrow. Lifetime guarantee is good!

Ag College?

Hmmm, you've all persuaded me- think I'll give it a go :) Don't have the cash to change all those other bits- good idea though. It had a new stat, housing, senders etc in 2004, so would think they should last a while longer ;) So I just get the car up on stands and go from there? Is it all pretty clear once under the car? Cheers!

penfoldvr6, where did you get your rad from? Is it copper? Want to avoid copper if poss. This is what scares me! Are the bumper and slam panel easy to remove? Am I gonna encounter lots of seized bolts etc?

Had a mare tonight. My radiator elbow has a tiny hole in the top, so bought a new one. Went to replace it tonight (10 min job methinks  ) and the bolts wouldn't undo, they just kept going round and round. To top it off the part of the radiator where the bolt nearest the engine bay is connected to, split as I was trying to undo the bolt. So, now it's leaking quite badly. As this plastic is an integral part of the rad, I'm guessing I will need a new rad. Any suggestions? Any rad-changing experts near me? Won't be able to drive the car when it's leaking like this :(

Yeh, 17's tend to be more grippy. Andy, I noticed a big difference when I swapped the 17" Kahns to the G60 BBS rims that were on it when you bought it. The ride was improved and the car felt quicker and more nimble. You will get used to them though. 16's are the best compromise I reckon. Will change mine eventually. Car running OK now?
-
storm_warning, the first set were off ebay.de and they are Inpro smoked- ARZ do them, but their pics are different. Kick Up The Rs, yep, they are E-marked. oxfordpaul, you are indeed a plank!

What about the TPS? Forgot to plug this back in after cleaning the TB, and ran the car a couple of times before realising.
-
OK, thanks chaps. Will just try the ecu reset in the Wiki as a precaution.
-
Unplugged the cps the other day when I was changing the water pump. Will this mean the car is now in limp mode, even though I plugged it back in? Car's not too nice to drive! If so, how can I reset the ecu? Can I simply unplug the loom near the aux water pump? Cheers!
-
Thanks, mate. That's a bit clearer. So it would seem that all the plugs now have two lugs. I'll file them off then.
