Love NYPD Blue. Also watch B Galactica, 24, Lost, Scrubs and ER. Think all these are vastly better than their British equivalents.

If the main emphasis is on something completely reliable, I wouldn't go for any of them tbh. Out of them all the MK 3 GTI 16v is prob the most reliable. If the reliability is the main issue, but you still want something quick, I'd personally go for a Civic VTI (runs and hides!). I've had 2 VTI's and absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing, went wrong on either. My wife also had a Civic Coupe, and that was the same.

650 rpm is around the right mark, but they do fluctuate a little. Personally I'd go semi-synth. 'Interior Valet'- think it's by CarPlan or something similar is great- my headlining looked like new after using it. It comes with a plastic brush thing attached. Can get it from Halfords etc.

Usually on OBD1 cars, it should splutter and die when the MAF is unplugged. Sounds like it could well be the MAF. Definately worth checking the ISV too. Whereabouts are you? I've got a spare MAF you could try.

Dave, had the exact same thing with my first valver. I just very carefully trimmed a little of the rubber off each end (there was plenty left), and it fitted fine.

VR is good thanks. Changed tail lights, badges, fuel filter. Need to change the leads, MAF and aux water pump, then it should be perfect. Corrado heaters are a PITA.

Nice, nice, nice! Love the LCR, especially with those wheels. Gonna get it remapped? Think I'd SORN the C if I was in your position. 16v's aren't fetching much at the mo' so not worth selling after all the hard work you've put in. In a couple of years time, get it out of the garage and turbo it!

Will take them a looooong time to get back any credibility. If they are trying to start again, they'd be better off with a name change for starters. That probably wouldn't help that much either.

That's a very good idea! Have been on the phone again with ECP, and they reckon they've found the correct one for me, and it's around £20 cheaper! Should arrive by Tuesday. Let's hope it's the correct one this time! Otherwise I'll go with bigpants baby's idea ;)
