F240BVV Corrado Press Car - restoration finished, what now ?
CazzaVR replied to JIMMI's topic in General Car Chat
Agree with toon vw- give Top Gear a shout. Keep it too. Oh, and get some pics up! -
I will do, Rodders. It's clearly a fault on the Councils part, and it must have happened to other people too. I'll keep you posted.

Nice cab, Phil! Like the interior, and the colour 8)

Yeh, was pretty impressed with the AA in the end. As you say, most companies wouldn't bother. Think Rach would make a better CSI than me- I was struggling for a decent pic and she spotted the wood lying right next to me!  Really does show the dip- I'd like to see the Council try and wriggle out of this one! Checked the speed limit on the road and it's 15mph! If I'd have been doing that, I dread to think what would've happened!

Went back to the crime scene today, to gather some evidence- Horatio eat your heart out! :) Here's the grid in all it's glory...
-
Not a fan of the TT MK1, but that's 8) Just don't go over 120mph without the spoiler!
-
I'm liking all the dials- nice one 8)

How about these from http://www.arz-tuning.de Fitted them quickly, so they need a bit of a tweek to line them up better, but the overall quallity is excellent! They are E-marked unlike FK's, and they are also 'de-blinged', where the chrome bits on FK's and Inpro's is finished in black instead 8) Also fit to the existing loom, so no chopping needed ;) Otherwise, I'd personally go all red like Goldie's 8)

Felt very emotional when the new owner drove off in my blackberry VR :( Then a few weeks later he wrote it off! Keep your chin up and try to look forward to the time when you can search out another peach that you'll hopefully be able to keep ;)

Had all three, and I'd go for a VR. That said, the G is still a great car. All in all, has to be a VR though- the sound is wonderful, and the silky power delivery is sublime. There are bargains out there- got my VR6 recently for just over £2K. It's a cracker- high miles but full head rebuild, Koni coilovers, recaro's etc. Needs a few minor things done to get it up to scratch, but I think even the more expensive ones would require the same. Go for it!

Thanks for pm Jimmi. Just wanted to get the clocks back to you mate :) Mods please lock :)

Firstly, I'd take the car somewhere else. Sounds like this garage doesn't really know their stuff! Maybe they meant engine speed sensor? Acceleration is via a cable to the throttle. Sounds like you need a new lambda- my last VR had a similar prob when the lambda + wiring were damaged.

As I was typing the last post, got a call from the AA! The guy was totally apologetic and absolutely crawled! They're sending £25 and a gift for Dan by way of apology. Whilst their service the other night was shyte, I'm pretty impressed that they've called to apologise off their own back and made absolutely no excuses. The money etc is also nice :) Suppose I could have rejected that and kicked up a stink to get more, but all I really wanted was a proper apology, and that's what I got!

Nick, yeh, not pleasant being stuck in the middle of nowhere, well away from the main road on a dark, cold winter night with a 6 month old baby! Jim, yeh, totally unmodified. The front bumper is quite low, but not as low as most coupes, sports cars etc.
-
Cheers, chap :) Got claim forms on their way from the council ;)
-
Bargain! Well done! The engine looks sweet with the lead quides all silvered up. Only thing I don't like are the number plates! Lovely looking car.
-
I'm not really a dubber. I'm a Corrado nut, and like a lot of other dubs, but would quite happily buy another make if it was up to scratch.

Nice VR! Looking forward to seeing this when it's finished 8) -
Cheers guys. Yeh, from the pics, the grid doesn't look too bad, but it's got quite a dip in the middle where the girders have sagged. I was watching other cars go over it, and they were all close, especially a Celica which must have been just a few mm's away from hitting. Dread to think what would've happened if it was the Corrado! Think I will complain to the AA too. Not good at all :?
-
Bojmobile, LJ, couldn't go anywhere- the coolant disappeared within a couple of minutes :( We were stuck there the whole time. Would've been nice to have a pint while we were waiting! Yeh, love the lights- still need to sort the fitment though :? They only took a few days to arrive- I was impressed with the service. Yours should turn up soon.
-
Welcome! Very nice car, with some rare spec 8) Get it dropped on the Speedies ;)
-
Selling again so soon?! What's this business opportunity then? Lovely car at a good price- I'm sure you won't have any probs selling :)
-
Rob_B, thanks mate :) A pic would be great too! ;) Appreciate your help!

Rodders, stop stirring! Have pm'd Jimmi, but he hasn't got back to me. He sent the clocks out to me very quickly, and agreed to take them back if they didn't solve my spoiler prob.
