  1. Well AndyR32 you werent wrong........95 euro shipping cost for the A pillar panels....holy cow!!! fabrication is the way forward methinks
  2. Hmmm i do need to source some new stickers for the wheel centres i have - does anyone know a good place for BBS or VW ones?
  3. & no offence but with only 1 post, which is the above & lacking in any real detal, it doesnt enthuse much confidence
  4. not much going on with the VR but lots done on the valver this weekend - new shoes & grill :) full update & lots of pics on page 5.... http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=44751&page=5&p=1047356&posted=1#post1047356
  5. after many many hours of rubbing & polishing i also managed to finally finish the 4th BBS split & then got all 4 balanced up & fitted :D they look so much better than the wolf race 17's which were on it......& will now be up for sale, along with the spacers & long wheel bolts i removed, should anyone be interested (i will put an add up once had time to clean them & take pics) though im not entirely sure if i will need any spacer shims as the clearance between the top of the tyre & the bottom of the suspension cup is very minimal, though i believe that should remain static so think they are ok as there didnt seem to be any rubbing (im not very good at working out wheel sizes & offsets but several good people on here said they would fit ok) however, comparing to my VR they look ok & the outside edge of the rear wheels seem to almost be in line with the inner edge of the arch lip finally, i cant recall who on here put me onto the ebay page for wheel bolts but they worked a treat the price with locking nuts was superb - so thank you :)
  6. lots achieved on the weekend despite the rain & wind (spray painting outside is definitely not fun or clever) i managed to get my replacement grill refurb'd. im happy to now have the correct early 7 slat grill in place & not looking too shabby considering all i used was halfords plastic primer & cheap matt paint. apologies for the foliage, i forgot to take the pic before i moved it forward to park again
  7. scum bags :( if only they were seen in the act......& then beaten accordingly!!
  8. welcome! wow that truly has covered some distance :)
  9. no m8 it wasnt me - i have a blackberry VR & a white 1.8 16v & the gf has a storm but the valver is having new shoes on the weekend & then going for its MOT i just wondered as you sounded in the close area, which your not too far away, as i try to go to local classic car meets & always keen to try & get more of a rado presence :)
  10. thats a great idea Jim - anna at heritage is keen to increase their range
  11. mmm choc orange, nice Kev :) all good points m8 - i guess my reason for rant posting was more about the fact that 'they' (whoever they may be) are so quick to jack prices up when oil barrel prices increased but then show very little sign or willing to reduce them back down as fairly & was definitely a rant rather than a wrinkle causing worry ;) i like to regularly stop in life, take a look around & enjoy the best parts of it as most of the time, blink & you will miss it
  12. surely the oil companies must bear some responsibility themselves as it was they who said the increase was needed when crud oil prices went up drastically funny how they are not so quick to drop the prices when they are now making so much more money now its crashed road tax has been a UK rip off almost since the time it was conceived as shortly after the scheme began they stopped using it for what it was meant for - IE the maintenance & repair of our UK roads......& look at the state of them now!!
  13. where abouts are you maff? im not far off jnct 3 of m42
  14. good info thanks :) ive managed to decipher & complete the online contact form asking for prices with shipping - i fear it will be a wallet basher
  15. Indeed Jim but 'we' the public are were told back when petrol was still under the £1 level that the big increase was due to the high price of oil per barrel i know we the majority of the forecourt price is duty BUT why are we not seeing a heavy decrease now that the price per barrel has dropped so much - its so the fat cats can line their greedy pockets
  16. of course not billcor ;) - ive been of the mindset that we need a modern day Guy Fawkes for many a year now & actually have people running the country for the people living here
  17. Ooo thanks Andy, very much appreciated!! i hadnt checked there. I only need a section of it for each side so i may be able to cut it up & use on both sides Andy you are a star - ive had a search through the classic parts site & they have the A pillar part available for both sides LHS = 535809839A RHS = 535809840A only trouble now is that chrome doesnt translate the 'contact us' form & i dont read german - anyone know an email address for them?
  18. Crude oil has been making lots of headlines in the past week or two, mainly due to it crashing out of its own backside. http://www.businessinsider.com/oil-gets-crushed-october-7-2014-10 the price per barrel is now almost HALF what it was in its peak in 2011 yet our forecourt prices remain overly inflated im sure most of you will agree how much it vexes us that they are so quick to increase the forecourt price when the barrel price goes up but god damn they dont like reducing it anywhere near as quickly OR by anywhere near as much when it goes down how are these business 'criminals' getting away with continually ripping us off!!!! & why are the UK government - who are supposedly voted in by us & are meant to work for the benefit of us the UK public - doing nothing to force these companies to reduce the cost as quickly as they increase it IMO i feel that our MP's are only in it for the benefit of lining their own pockets with as much money they can get from as many angle's as possible & generally dont give a flying f**k about the people they are meant to 'work for' discuss....

    Sill rust...

thanks jon_vr6 they were my 1st port of call - unfortunately they only list a 'fuel filler retention spring' in their section for panels - sills & floors i thought id ask on here & then maybe PM anna to see if they are working on sourcing any but i also feel that will possibly be extremely expensive
  20. Hi all I post this with the anticipation that it will be a big no & a dead end but thought worth asking you lovely people just in case. I have search on here & know there is a left outer sill part on ETKA, number 535809847, & that VW used to provide them but ive spoken with dealer today & they are no longer available & there are none in the UK My mechanic is a superb welder but a repair panel or section of a sill would help greatly. Does anyone know of any stock of the part listed anywhere or have any ideas? It is actually only a small section below the A pillar which needs repairing but the ETKA diagram doesnt show that part number 10 & would be over kill as it includes part of the door frame Im thinking the only likely option is to fabricate it from scratch Thanks in advance :)
  21. ahh ok worth an ask....good luck
