Recommendation for basic bluetooth headunit with easy peasy fitting?
g0ldf1ng3r replied to dr_mat's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
ahh i see i thought it was something different as i knew you had used a lot of dynamat for soundproofing. it looks like it is stuck well to the doors in lots of places, does it have a sticky back or did you use the black horrible putty stuff? -

Very strange VR6 stopped revving while cornering hard
g0ldf1ng3r replied to Rpmayne's topic in Engine Bay
ok - am i right that there are potentially 2 issues here the first being that it struggles to idle when cold & the second that the rev counter dropped to zero but the engine continued to run as normal if yes - i am unsure with the idle when cold but there are lots of threads on this forum about it as for the rev counter dying but all seems well with the engine running - it is likely to be an issue with the dash clocks. my VR has for a long time had a rev counter that occasionally dances around & can drop completely to zero & the be unresponsive BUT no issue with the engine actually running. i read on here, from Kev Bacon IIRC, that there is a resistor on the back of the dash clocks which can develop a break in the soldering - which when happens interrupts the connection & causes the rev counter to die or dance i did ask stealth to resolder said resistor when they had to change my matrix but it still does it even now - usually a light tap on the clocks or the dash above sorts it out however if the engine was being problematic when the rev counter died then some fault finding will be required -
great list :) i nearly brought a red pug 205 1.9 GTI with a full Dimma body kit on it, crazy looking it was & i wonder what it would be worth now fiesta RS Turbo's used to be rather smart too IIRC

me too in fact i had a 'breathed' on 1.4SR nova when i was 21 - my word it was fun to drive!! but god damn it used to eat rear wheel bearings for breakfast lol to this day, no matter what car i have tried with, i still have not been able to match the speed at which i got it to go through the S bend section of the clover leaf highway by where i live. it was like it was on rails. i used to run bridgestone S02's on it & they are definitely my favourite tire of all time, stunning in the dry & 99% as good in the wet i still wish i had not written it off & still had it today - ive got a picture somewhere at home, i will try & scan it & post it i recall they used to squeeze the 3 litre turbo lumps out of the astra into the nova, that was a weapon i would still like even now lol

Do VW have an embargo on talking about the Corrado

i did get a little out of VW themselves & they did look into if my valver's Kamei kit was a factory option, which it seems it wasnt from their response. -

Site running on IE keeps logging me out
g0ldf1ng3r replied to g0ldf1ng3r's topic in Site Comments and Questions
no m8 - good idea though but i dont tend to use 'cleaner' type software oddly it sorted itself out with me doing nothing, both for IE & chrome, as such i dont think it was my local settings -
gramatically, with its use two comma's, i would have to agree with you Jim lol it just reads a bit the other way

possibly m8 although when looking at the threads for msvw323 it is showing the exhaust is for a Caddy 1.9 or 2.0 TDi - thus possibly not suitable for your VR6 i have found a link to a PDF with Miltek pricing from April 2011 here https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwj_oczUiuHMAhXBKMAKHUnKB3AQFggpMAM&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fontain.co.uk%2FPDF%2FVW-Milltek-April-2011.pdf&usg=AFQjCNEQxoCLIKjDVg5KyHCqLICNfQ4kxw&bvm=bv.122129774,d.ZGg unfortunately that confirms that MSVW323 is for a caddy :( corrado is shown on the pdf - cat replacement pipe is MSVW118, cat back has 3 parts MSVW234, MSVW116 & MSVW236B -
they always do m8 i feel it kind of shows the writers lack of knowledge lol just like when the person walks up to you at a show & say 'is it a storm' - yeah cause that little badge makes so much difference PMSL
