  1. they are funny things these rado's aint they lol having posted a while back about investigating my drivers heated seat intermittently working, guess what, it has worked fine ever since. hope i dont jinx it lol i wonder if the 'buzzing' relay was it getting stuck due to lack of use & since i have used it more it has fixed itself. who knows but at least it worked for winter no need for the function in this recent heat tho! damn i wish the valver MOT had not run out last week as for the VR sunroof - hmmmmm - tilt has kind of fixed itself too as now it more often than not works. i still think it doesnt like the cold but then even on the cold snap frosty days we had back in march the tilt worked thus, hot as you like yesterday, i thought i would give slide a go & let some heat out the top - the damn thing moved about 1/3 of the way back & then stopped & did the 'tiny movement when press button' thing guess i will be digging that spare motor out this weekend if i can find time finally - i thought i would treat the VR to a quick engine bay (well hoses) quick clean. sparkly was the result but of course there had to be the following mornings 'toy out the pram' for touching her as it took 3 attempts to get it to start normally bloomin things, i am sure sometimes they are best just left well alone & then play up when we attempt to 'fix' something lol
  2. ok Hasan - i can do better than that i think lol just remembered i put a full write up with pics on my build thread when i installed the valver uprated loom - that saves much typing & uploading images for this kind of event :) take a look here m8 http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?44751-g0ldf1ng3r-s-VR6-amp-1-8-16V/page25&highlight=g0ldf1ng3r it should take you to page 25 of the thread from reading what i had typed in it it should negate the need for a guide. the description is very detailed & you can see the factory wiring colours in Pic 1 you can then see how the new loom loops back into the factory one in Pic 4 - i was wrong in my previous post, the drivers side has 8 connections - 4 go into the back of the headlight & 4 go back into the OEM connector which was unplugged (makes sense really) you can then just about make out the passenger side 'tail' wire i mentioned previously in Pic 9, which is a single wire to link back into the disconnected passenger factory plug hopefully that will get you running but any questions just shout :)
  3. ahhh ok jim glad you had a good time. great idea cycling up there. TBH it was the traffic getting to & from the event that kind of put me off. i have been in cov on a bad traffic day & that was awful enough lol i had seen a video of the Vulcan from sunday on FB but not managed to watch it yet - which day did you go?
  4. lovely pics thanks guys :) i must say i really do like that Lupo & those tiny Jap style wheels look awesome on it hmmm swap rado valver for lupo gti - i wonder? lol
  5. hi hasan i have 3 relay version on both my rados' but i believe there should be 4 wires each side for each headlight - yellow, grey, brown & white i have a pic of the headlight rear connector with the wires plugged in if you want me to post it for you IIRC there is then also a 'tail' wire on each side which needs to plug back into respective colour socket on the factory loom was yours from Ryan Automotive? (i know there made 2 relay versions) if yes, they should be able to send you a diagram
  6. how was it Jim? did you get any pics or videos? i liked your post about the car designer who owned a rado :)
  7. very nice looker i did giggle about the 'black & chrome' look statement as the camera panned to show his Karmann badge by the gearstick - from which the black outer has fallen off to leave the silver behind same as in my VR lol
  8. hi m8 i would be interested to hear your verdict on the LWS wings pls? in terms of fit, quality etc, as i am considering saving to put some on the VR
  9. good info Yandards thank you timely too as i was donated a set of VR coillies recently & want to put them on an early valver any chance you could expand a little on the 'faff' you mention of spring caps & top mounts pls? thanks
  10. too true Kev short journey kill cars!
  11. dont worry Kev i have slapped myself for the V12 blunder, 840's had the V8 i think but yes the beastly 12 cylinder the rado you saw probably looked small as there are so many bloomin chelsea tractors on the roads now, awful bl00dy things! i did have great pleasure in whooping a, what surely was bog standard, cayenne pepper off the lights a couple of weeks back. twas a saleman driving it on a demo with a passenger too lol
  12. nice! great to be at number 1! i certainly would like a number 10 though, especially the 850 with its V8 my uncle has a very old BMW 3.0CS which he has recently started to restore. it is a beauty & almost has a number plate matching the model, BMW309L - it is like this http://1-photos.ebizautos.com/used-1974-bmw-3.0-cs-9423-7608791-1-640.jpg
  13. sorry stuart i misunderstood have you tired calling VW or asking ThursDave on here?
  14. hi m8 only just seen this have you looked in the boot for the factory sticker? it has the specific paint code on there - eg my blackberry is LK4Z i have a feeling there is also a sticker on the inside of the passenger wing, a yellow one with a bar code
  15. you can fit the 5.25" Kappa's in the standard door cards, i have them in the VR as mentioned. it is a bit of a squeeze depth wise & you have to thread the passive crossover into the recess in the door pocket but they make the sound much different up front one of the issue with the rear speakers is that they have a relatively small surface area due to the shape of them, as such they will always struggle to really perform well i put a small mdf 'plank' on the underside of my parcel shelf, to add rigidity, installed the Kappa 6*9's & then recovered over the top with acoustic carpet. note - NOT acoustic CLOTH as that is too thin & will sag over time. whereas if you get the carpet nice & tight, its not really carpet just quite a bit thicker than the cloth, it wont sag. the 6*9 Kappa's really are fantastic
  16. tidy, hope they are both treating you well :) as ive mtnioned i have not watched but i would have thought the 'new' version of the show would be completely different to the old one. reason being that they slated the old one so much when on its way out, ok maybe not the show itself sometimes but definitely the presenters & their style, that the only way to renew it would be to go with a completely new format i guess it displays the complacency & laziness & completely wrong focus (i could go on lol) that the BBC have - they are about as beneficial to Great Britain as the pompous arses we call politicians
  17. that is good news!! how have you found the difference since fitting the new ones?
  18. Mr Bacon where have you been lurking!?!? ;) lol ive not seen the episode yet but this thread has been a good read of what to expect....& probably result in it NOT being added to the 'record list' lol
  19. lol i too have those very speakers in the VR doors & i decided to not refit the covers rather than butcher them i like the tweeter button on them but often catch it with my foot when exiting the drivers side cracking speakers though! & i have the 6*9 Kappa's in the rear shelf too - a well worth addition if you dont have them already Jim! FYI ive a couple of old parcel shelves if you need a donor m8 ;) & can send you a pic of my shelf install, as i stiffened it up so as to reduce vibrations etc EDIT - just realised you put them in the dash, that must of been tricky. in the valver i put some small 4" infinity's when i 1st owned it, the covers still didnt fit though. they were still there when i brought the valver back too lol as were the ally door pins :D
  20. ahhh poop & double poop!!!
  21. hmmm intersting what kind of price is it? i might use that to re-line the doors as self adhesive has to be better than that awful black putty stuff Edit: its not too bad really http://www.silentcoat.co.uk/collections/silent-coat/products/silent-coat-2mm-mat-door-pack
