  1. holy cow that looks nice! have a look in the members gallery for someone Scotland way who had a race corrado last year. they have recently sold it & had an advert on here in fact, scratch the above here is the lovely beast I refer to http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?92843-1991-Corrado-20vT-Race-Car&highlight=race+car I understand they just modified the stock bumper but they are in the 'race' arena & may be able to help direct you alternatively, at the other end of the country, you could try JMR (John Mitchel Racing) though I do not know what they offer or do, I have just read good things with their corrado this is their build thread http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?88138-John-Mitchell-JMR-Ltd-4WD-16V-Turbo-Corrado-Build&highlight=john+mitchell+racing good luck
  2. lol I am wishing I had done that to the one in the valver when I changed the matrix last summer as I now need to take it all apart again to do the heater box flaps :(
  3. look forward to reading this it is sad times when things like this happen & makes me extremely thankful to have a mechanic I trust & have done so for 20 odd years
  4. typical - no rain since I tackled the door membrane might have to wash it later to force as test lol
  5. nice! I need 1, no 2, no ZERO of those LOL
  6. no EJ not a forum page but there is https://www.facebook.com/groups/VwCorradoChat/ a few of us on here are on there too lots of parts etc pop up & lots of people asking for advice etc I should have thought of you when I saw this post as I knew you are close to oxford - I did mention you in the 'double DIN stereo' one though, hope you don't mind :)
  7. ha ha ha at least it was worth the wait, kinda lol
  8. hi Neil I believe to remove & refit the bushes you will need a press & can not be done by hand, or is extremely difficult from personal experience I would recommend preparing to replace the brake bias valve as they can be very troublesome to disconnect so as to allow the rear beam to drop ok also, avoid poly bushes etc for the rear beam & use the standard OE bushes as they are designed to flex somewhat
  9. hi m8 I saw your post on fb last night but when I check the distance it is rather far from me & fuel would be expensive. I think it was the reading area wasn't it?
  10. good idea Kip - lots of room to secure them along the air channels too that way MZPog - the glove box is a beatch as the bottom of it gets stuck & you have to kind of 'get the pry bar out' as you say to squeeze the bottom of the glove box up a tad to get over the metal bar in the hole it comes out of in the dash
  11. true - there isn't much room behind there is there even with standard size head unit I always struggle to tuck the RCA leads somewhere as stop the unit from going back far enough
  12. I think it might be possible to only remove the metal panel so as to access that lifter part one side broke on my VR but I haven't tackled it
  13. im sure they have been done m8 EJ Taylor springs to mind - he has the black beast with roll cage & awesome JL audio build Jamie someone, C maybe - the one with the Porsche wheels, red rado - something makes me think he may have but then could be double din n3p possibly - I know he retrimmed dash but cant recall what stereo he had - obviously sold now but should still be the VRT thread cant help with the recommendations though sorry - I run an Ipod only Sony unit
  14. tackled the water leak causing a puddle on the VR drivers footwell - update in build thread below http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?44751-g0ldf1ng3r-s-VR6-amp-1-8-16V&p=1101863#post1101863
  15. wooo hooo sunny weather weekends have finally begun!! 1st job to tackle in a day of no rain, even though it was rather chilly still......water getting into drivers footwell on the VR call it good fortune or bad but the heavy rain last week did produce a positive as well as a (negative) bloody puddle in the drivers footwell, such that I could see a very visible trickle line of water running down from where the bottom of the door meets the sill. in an area pretty much below the door speaker I should have taken a picture but I was too busy trying to dry it off some what for the journey to work lol with tools, disposable gloves, old towel to rest door card on & a cuppa in hand I thought best to heed the many posts & advice on here & take a look at the door membrane a few minutes later the door car was off & it seemed fairly obvious where the issue was more than likely coming from, see the first set of 4 pictures below, specifically picture 3 the main offender being quite a large hole by the first clip which the door card rests on. in all honesty I think it could have been partially my doing from when I changed my door speakers a while ago - though im mystified as to why it didn't produce a leak straight away if I had but the infinity kappa's were a bit deeper than the factory ones with a little jiggling & wriggling & gently scraping off some of the excess black sticky stuff to reuse in other areas I managed to get the membrane into somewhat of a more suitable state I added a strip or two of gaffa tape just to be sure but I did make sure that I put plenty of the black stuff around the door card clip previously mentioned & re-stuck the membrane, which fortunately was not missing any pieces the last 4 pictures are the after & I was very careful re-fitting the door card so as not to dislodge the repair work fingers crossed no more puddles but I will give it a test when I wash it after work one night this week
  16. very nice indeed!!! I like'y a lot'y
  17. lol Ive never heard of said valve let alone know how to direct you, sorry hopefully the might be a fellow US owner on here that can help you out good luck
  18. indeed great memories m8 I haven't taken it out of the box for so long I couldn't quite remember if there was anything missing other than the gun clip part I knew of. thus it was a nice surprise to see the red transparent film bit, which decodes a graph thing on the back of the box but also a little disappointing to not see the user manual thing however, I jumped on the buy it now button when I found the part being sold on its own last week having had a little browse on the bay the box condition is comparable to others out there so hopefully me finding that missing part has just jumped the value up quite a bit not that I plan on selling though as I already hugely regret selling the stack of marvel comics I had as a teenager, which included number 1 Hulk & Journey into Mystery number 38 (the first appearance of Thor) though they helped purchase my 1st car it pains me to even think about what they would be worth now!!
  19. apolgies to OP for butting in but I know from when I tried a couple of weeks ago that a standard sized ipod will not fit in a tray without cutting it up to remove the lugs that go through the tape cassette holes I think an ipod nano would fit but still be tight my one is in a 1990 early valver
  20. good result Ray my VR also got a fresh ticket last week with zero advisories - it is a good feeling isn't it :)
  21. you don't see many of these I had thought about selling the one in my valver but I quite like the retro look it gives I did have a look the other day to see if I could mod it to fit an ipod in one of the drawers but I would need a nano GLWS
  22. bloody rain - pre-emptive post with hope the sun is out on the weekend as I must get the drivers door card off the VR & tackle the membrane as had another puddle this morning & could see the trickle line coming from the bottom of the door
