Mine pops up at 73 mph....... Which means on those occasions when I try not to creep over the motorway limit I have indicator of how 'good' I've been ;)

I don't think the 928 will be more costly to run than the 850 (unless u get a shagged one).. .plus the 850 is a heavy car- although less powerful you'll get more fun out of the 928
-
My only qualifier on the above is remember the GTS was £70K+ car when new..... ....and it will have the running costs of a £70K car... ...then again I've heard the 850s are notoriously expensive to run and complex when going wrong too..
-
928 no question.....

Cool! 3 wheel action! -
I think there's a few of us who dip into that site once in a while- --some of the criticism on that site is failry valid - some of the comments made can be a bit off on occasions however..

Blue H reg valver (I think) coming up Manor Rd in Guildford around 11.00 am this morning-- I was in my mk2 golf coming the other way and gave you the thumbs up.. -
Furki- the answer is- Le Mans, Friday morning, Arnage corner..... Pure automotive porn...... PS: to answer your question- yes there is more to life than Corrados.. there are Golfs too..;)
-
Cool- look forwards to seeing your Z4 round the area when you get it...

My plan is to build a Dax Tojero with fat 5.7 V8..... ..may need a bigger garage first though...
-
In my VR I wait till it gets to 84 before going above 3K- I rarely take it above 5K anyway... (except in 2nd occasionally :D ) It usually settles between 98 and 104 normally.. In my mk2 8v I wait till 80 before taking above 3K- it usually settles between 84 and 88

Drilles 'should' only improve brake fade- as opposed to increase actual stopping power...however I don't know if the are VAG discs that have been drilled or not- there's no sign of any cracking or imperfections around the holes so the quality's pretty spot on.. (30K+ miles on)
-
Just drilled discs.... And I don't find it a problem at all--

I think there are varying degrees of progressive. As I said before i'm not saying the c's brakes dont work it's just they are a little too progressive for my personal taste. I prefer to be able to use less foot pressure to achieve the same result. A number of forum members have made various modifications to their braking systems to improve braking over the standard setup and IMO I can understand why. Fair enough- and I do admittedly have non-standard discs.....
-
Don't confuse 'sharp' modern brakes which bite very quickly as you touch the pedal, with progressive braking on the VR which give a gradual build up of braking power as you depress the pedal... I don't believe the full braking power when you've got the brakes full on is that bad by modern standards...

Blue L reg 16v on M25 about 8.30 am this morning going North just coming up to Dartford- I was in my mk GTi -
I get the odd puff of blue following an overrun- generally I use 1 litre anything between 500 and 1500 miles- depends on driving style... Used virtually no oil going to Le Mans and back (pretty much constant 120kph all the way)... ....whilst cornwall and back will use loads (lots of hills and use of engine braking..)

Green (?) Corrado seen around 11.30 Sunday morning in Hitchin on Strathmore Ave coming onto Grove road- I flashed you- you waved back too (a lass driving too I think!) -
I'll believe it when I see it- it seems every 6 months a thread crops up about a new 'rado on the horizon... Incidentally the story is also doing the rounds on pistonheads..http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=213789&f=57&h=0

My votes with the 350Z- cracking car- I wouldn't allow the DC5 since import only (although allegedly also a cracking car - I've never been in one so i only have hearsey to go on)

How the feck did this thread get reawakened?
