Dude, Its a scam, and if it wasn't there's a 99% chance it would be money laundering which is treated v.seriously by the likes of HMRC and SOCA. You'd be better if it was a scam and you just lost your car/money...

Help, i'm tepmted to sell my corrado!!!
HiAsAKite replied to matt_corradovr6's topic in General Car Chat
I'll take the passenger headrest and rear light cluster... -
Cool!- in your boundary conditions did you specify that the road surface and freestream velocities were the same wrt to the car or just that the flow immediately adjacent must be parallel to it (ie no road drag)? Then again given the turbulent flow effects between the car and road at speed its not the easiest thing to model accurately - how good is your pacakge in this respect? Going back to the cd debate I seem to recall seeing somewhere that the corrado CD was 0.32- in practice however you need to include the frontal area in any 'which car is more aerodynamic' debate as this is just as significant. nice to see some CFD outputs anyway..:)
-
that would follow- ... and to be honest the point of my project was more to prove it could be modelled using a given set of techniques, rather than designing the perfect turbine blade... ..anyway- hope your run converges tonight... unlike when I'd come in on a Monday morning and find mine had crashed at 5.45 on the Friday....
-
Cool-! did my 4th year project on cfd, albeit turbine blade modelling with a bit of laminar to turbulent flow transition point modelling for good measure... mind you I didn't have 50Ks worth of software to model it on- I had to write my own using Fortran77.. those were the days eh?-unfortunately now do nothing connected with that (butit does mean I can afford my 'rado :D )

Would you be liable for maintence doing lease hire?- i'd be tempted by the alfa- especially since you've already owned an number of VWs and everyone should own an alfa once in their life... I would avoid the reno like the plague... -

Yup- the MFA has an 'engineer' mode that its possible to engage which shows digital rev counter.. I forget how to engage it but a search on the clubgti forums should find it (its where I originally read about it)..
-
I believe quite a few forum members have ended up with the 'locked car, keys in the ignition, engine running, owner outside' scenario...
-
ROTFL!!!! Camper vans have their advantages sometimes...;)
-
actually I think you've hit the nail on the head re set-up.. given all the combos of tyres you could use thats before you take into account any mods, lowering/ARBs or just worn bushes...
-
maybe, first time I've its ever really happened to me in a proper sideways action though...occasionally I've had it 'step' slightly with lift off in a corner but never to the point of a 2-3 second 'drift'... which is what caught me by surprise.. ...its not like I drive it gently normally ;) (once engine and tyres warmed up of course) ..I suppose given that the 'rado is known for its neutral handling I should really be surprised its taken this long for it to happen

After 3 years ownership I finally (accidentally) managed to get the back end out in the Corrado... Came up to a large wide roundabout (junc28 of the M4 exit rounadbout heading westwards if anyone knows it)... fairly busy so not much gap between traffic on the roundabout- finally spotted a gap and booted it to get in... Accelerated fairly hard in second, entered the right turn to go round the roundabout and the car understeered badly (not surprising seeing as it was wet and I was still piling on the power....indeed I was ready for some understeer to occur -- however- instead of progressively lifting off until the understeer disappeared (as I should have done) I did a sudden lift-off (which usually tucks the front in nicely, allowing me to power on out of the corner)... --this time however as soon the weight transfered to the front the back end stepped out/oversteered maybe 30 degrees (it seemed that much to me- was probably less but it seemed a lot at the time) and sideways I went.... - opposite steering controlled it (thank you skid-pan session at Goodwood 4 years ago!!) and with a slight fishtail I was back on my way without any damage (just looking slightly foolish to the traffic behind me) and a reminder to respect the wet roads more as we enter the wet &greasy season again... Anyway...let that be a warning to the rest of you lest you don't get away as easily as I did...and has anyone else managed have similar oversteer experiences?

What VW's have you owned and how old are you??

30 1.1 Mk2 golf (what a sh!ter that was) Mk2 8v GTI VR6 corrado (still own the last two :D) -
to spend that much money and sell it is foolish... to spend that much money on 'real' upgrades (eg supercharge, rebore, waterinjection etc etc stuff that really improves the car) with the intention of keeping it and enjoying it is completely different kettle of fish
-
don't know anything about std VR's having emissions problems....sounds like bull to me.. As the others say, a decent VR shouldbe yours for that money but check insurance first, then work out what you can get...

New Car Time - My hand has been forced Alfa here I come!!!!!
HiAsAKite replied to Blue_Joe's topic in General Car Chat

Is your Corrado your "best" car, or your runabout?
