  1. Oh.. that didn't work at all.... any fotoango experts here?.. they gave me the link for the pics but there's nothing there.....:(
  2. Finally got some decent shots of my 'rado courtesey of an ex-PVW photographer and some decent weather... One in motion...
  3. Cool photo... ...and I think the wheels should stay black.. but its your car at the end of the day..
  4. Hiya, welcome to the forum... ..most of us are fairly harmelss...
  5. Got the M3 GTR race car yesterday... fantastic car... Got it by winning Schwarzwald A using a nitro'd mkV Golf.... Using that you can win the Professional NA sports, and hopefully (but I haven't tried yet) the M3 races...
  6. This outstanded me to.. but before getting my cam sensor changed I used to get between 22 and 29mpg whatever, I can now manage 42mpg at a steady 50 mph on the A3, and 36mpg at a steady 70 on the A3...... Please note if use the loud pedal or engage in any spirited overtaking this rapidly plummets...... I would say my average is round 28 now (without canning it)
  7. Anyone else tried the Buick Special '62 yet?... Try it with the driving aids (especially TCS and oversteer) turned off used to win both Old American Muscle car and American Muscle car races... Mental car...
  8. Sorry.. I meant 0,3 bar ;) Thanks, which of the poles on the dual pole sender do you connect the existing blu/black wire ? EDIT: I didn't know the warning switch on the dual pole was 0.5 bar... I only knew that the range of the sender was up to 150 PSI
  9. Which of the two pressure senders did you replace with the dual pole sender.. the 0.2 bar one or 4.4 bar one (yellow or blue wire)? Thanks, Al
  10. You tell it what strategy to follow.. ie how hard to push, and whether to try and overtake or not (though it will overtake anyway on its own).... If you push it too hard the car nay spin off...
  11. Just the b so far,........ Been building up my car collection by using B-spec racing to win money whilst eating dinner/reading etc....
  12. Do the golf GTI races in the VW events to win the mk1
  13. How about best time round the Nurburgring in an unmodifed mk1 Gti on medium sports tyres? Then for a laugh.. try the renault 5 rally car on the ring... that thing is so unstable at speed its unbelievable (and it has 345BHP!)
  14. Racing at castle combe attacked by the noise poilce and under threat (not the council.. as originally thought)... Please register your support to stop us losing this circuit.. I enjoyed a number of race days there Castle Combe under attack
  15. Not sure.. I haven't changed mine yet... I think they are Matrix pipes though... Incidentally when my went both passenger and drivers footwells filled with coolant.... not nice having 80 degree collant spray on your legs whilst driving!
  16. Mate.. KevHaywire just helped me change mine on Sunday.. made a world of difference! Its underneath the black plastic cover above the coil pack on the RHD side of the engine... You need a spline socket to take the plastic cover of, otherwise just a normal set of sockets will get the rest off.. you may need to remove the coilpack to get to the cam sensor bolt... Also if your is anything like mine was (hadn't been removed in 12 years) it may be a bit stuck and need 'encouragement' to come out..
  17. yeah... its the low down torque thats most noticable now!!! Sure you'll get a ride soon enough!
  18. If you look in the engine bay.. at the top of the bulkhead between the engine bay and passenger compartment there are two coolant pipes approx 30mm in diameter going into the top of the bulkhead.. these need to be disconnected and connected to one another...
  19. Yep.. to make the car drivable again you just need to bypass the matrix and fill it up with coolant again.... Incidentallly... I assume you turned the engine off as soon as (well.. within 10-20 seconds or so) the steam and water started pouring out and haven't driven it since... (please say yes.. otherwise you may have run the engine with no coolant...:()
  20. Sounds like the heater matrix.. I had the same happen to me... First off.. get all the carpets out the car and wash them anbd dry them out to get all the coolant out. Make sure the coolant hasn't fired any of the electronics (I was unfortunate in having my immobiliser located next to the matrix when mine went... cue one fried immobiliser). You can buy a replacement matrix from GSF for £35 or so... Now the tricky part... to replace the matrix properly, you need to take the dashboard out.. though there are people who've managed it without taking the dashboard out.. I haven't yet done this since this is a 4-8 hour job to take out and replace...and I want top make sure when it comes to putting it back its all wired up correct... Best of luck getting sorted.. in the interim you can bypass the matrix (which is what I'm running with at the moment)
  21. Kev.. you're a star.. many thanks for your help Sunday it was really appreciated.. and now it pulls like a train from 2K onwards.... ..I'd forgotten what she used to feel like..
