  1. To pop the glass out, use a plastic ruler under the glass and carefully lever it off. Do this starting at the bottom of the glass (in the middle) to lever the lower fixing 'pins' out, and then at the top of the glass (again in the middle) to lever the top pins out. And no accounts try levering it from the near the sides (ie somewhere other than the middle of the top or bottom edge) or you may end up snapping the glass. Does the electric mechanism still work? if so you can make it easier by tilting the mirror 'up' when doing the bottom edge and 'down' when doing the top. Do it very gently and carefully, and its v. straighforward. when you say change insides, do you mean the electric mechanism too into the new case? I'm not sure how to do this without cracking the case.. guess it must be possible somehow
  2. f'k'r!!!! Hope you get it sorted
  3. Before anyone says this has been done to death..I've searched through every topic I could find under sunroof AND problem or sunroof AND broken to no joy..... Problem is this.. it slides ok it tilts up ok but when trying to tilt down.. it slides back instead of tilting until jamming against the rear sunroof opening... I managed to shut it by holding it with my hands in the forward position until it had tilted back to stop it sliding.... I'm guessing something locks to stop it sliding back whilst its open, and this is no longer 'functional'... Closest thread I could find is this one: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... of+problem But it doesn't actually explain what the original problem was.. Has anyone had this before/can help? Thanks all, :(
  4. Stopped by the fuzz? did I f'k.. no-one batted an eyelid... Shows how useful alarms really are! Lucky I could deactivate the immobiliser though..
  5. Following an ECU reset and alarm reset in Ipswich (and many thanks to Kev for helping sort out a faulty cam position sensor) I had to drive back to Guildford via Hitchin without being bale to turn my alarm off... Cue 2.5 hours driving on the A14, A505, A1, M25 and A3 with the alarm siren and hazards coming on at random...
  6. Dude, hope you get it sorted... (and no I can't offer any real helpful advice!)
  7. Looks sweet!!... Look forward to seeing it in the flesh
  8. Complain to http://www.itv-f1.com/ContactUs.aspx
  9. Blue N626*** in Guildford Sainsbury's car park around 1pm today
  10. Yep.. though they did show the laps afterwards..
  11. Mine's on 182K km (approx 113K miles) and I've only had to change the plugs, HT leads and cam sensor... Oh and the oil!
  12. Whilst on the run my oil temp may go between 100-114 but the water temp rarely goes above 80 unless I am stopped
  13. Weird.. I get £550 for the rado and £250 for the golf.. both fully comp.. wonder why your golf is so much?
  14. Mark, Tried pming you in response to your pm, but just got an absence message.. so here's my reply regarding Golf+Corrado ownership: Mark, ======================================= I have both my cars insured with Admiral... I transferred the policy to the Corrado (and 5 years NCB), then took out a separate policy with them for the golf.. for which they gave me full NCB. Depends how old you are, NCB etc..I found that TPFT and Full Comp on the Golf was v. little difference.. plus you get windscreen cover with fully comp which is useful since a new windscreen would probably cost as much as the car is worth Having to insure, tax and MOT two cars is v. annoying, but it does mean I can always get to where I'm going because at least one of the cars is always working! MPG wise, I get 32-38 out of the Golf in motorway miles, and between 28 and 32 in the VR6 I tend to use the Corrado only for journeys greater than 20 miles (ie so it will warm up properly and long distance stuff, whilst using the Golf as a town run around and workhorse Compared to the Golf, wheras the GTI tends to become light at high speed (110+), the Corrado just sinks lower to the road and feels rock stable.. Perception of speed is also v. different, the same speed in the Corrado will feel much slower Handling wise the Corrado doesn't have the same understeer that the golf has, however you need to watch lifting off in corners and stamping on the brakes, since this can provoke oversteer as tghe back steps out.. Good luck , and let me know if there's anything else I can do.. Al
  15. Wot he said.. Good luck checking it.. would offer to help you out but I'm at the other end of the country.
  16. Nope, but I grew up there (Hitchin, not GSF!).. and go back every so often so I'd love to know too..
  17. Still haven't seen my car up there yet....
  18. I wouldn't worry about anything up to 112-114.... And generally make sure you wait till it reaches 80-86 degrees before going above 3000 rpm or labouring it..
