Not 100% if Cs are the same but on a MK2 Golf you need to make some new rigid lines cos the flexy is on the opposite(top/bottom) side of the beam. I could be wrong about Cs being different? Gavin

If the glasses have been replaced on their own then I cannot see why they wouldn't work. Even if the whole lamp unit was replaced, it should be possible to fit the hieght adjusters I would have thought. I did it when I brought over my Golf. A little bit of messing but only 10mins a side. Gavin

I have a mount from dubsport. It looks like a MK2 mount. Ian told me they take 'em apart, do some messing about and weld them back up? I have had a MK2 non hydraulic mount apart. I filled the holes in the round rubber block with some steel bar and then welded it back up. It appeared to be pretty solid. As yet though, I have not fitted it to a car, so don't know how stiff it is? I defo wouldn't use a std Hydraulic one. Gavin

No turbo logo on my gauge. Gavin

We just took the 2 sets of shafts, measured them up and took them to a local metal shop to weld together ..... You could have made that sound much harder and then flogged them for a ton a piece! :D Gavin

Hall senders often play up for a while before quitting completely. The time can vary days weeks or hours. New dissy is best. Or a secondhand one from the scrappy. Off a car that is in due to a wack. My theory being that it was running prior to the accident. Summat with no damage may be in there cos it don't run, hall sender gone? Gavin
-
I am pretty sure the wire is green/black on all dubs. Gavin
-
You're welcome Chris.
-
Andy the hall sender in th edissy is Very prone to quitting on G60s. The dissy is the same as an 8V digifant MK2. So don't pay extra for a 'G60' dissy! Gavin

I bet he already went to the edge of the envelope and back to the hard-deck, which is not flexible!! Nice wiring in the first pic. :D The rocker cover could have been cleaned up a bit dude. A large can of heat resistant black does wonders. Gavin

the vac pipe goes on the top outlet on the t body. Gavin
-
If it is anything like my 16V MK3 check your lambda probe is ok. The exhaust is prolly really black and sooty. Not always the probe could be the wiring. Gavin

I do tho having sold him a pump for a carb car. Sorry mate!!! There should be 3 outlets down the side of the pump not two. Including the thermostat elbow in both cases. Gavin
-
Hans those 'without' lights were dire. Lucky you never ran into anything. Gavin
-
No it's in the front, under the charger. Plastic elbow coming off the pump. Access from underneath. Gavin

fec try disconnecting and reconnecting the two plugs on the strut towers under the bonnet. Maybe they have become oxidised and the re-rack will sort it? We do it all the time on aircraft and it is always the first thing to do, before getting the books out!! Does the light not go out at all or does it clear and come on as soon as you set off?? Gavin
-
Darren, do you want to trade it or sell it and I'll do you another? That one will fit a MK1/2 and your Passat if you take it straight to the bulb. Buzz a hole in the headlight access cover and extract the terminals from the plugs. Poke the wires thru and re-fit the plugs. Which Passat have you bought, one like mine?? Thanks for all your positive comments everyone else. I feel all warm inside. :) Bally, you are welcome. Gavin

Henny, I have a VDO boost/vac gauge. It came from merlinmotorsport at Castle Coombe. Not sure if they still do them. reads -1 to +2 BAR Gavin

Nathan, I haven't seen the Ring kit so cant comment. You only mention one fuse, mine has two. I am not offended by you trying to save a few quid. I am always willing to have a go myself, before paying out hard earned. I remember when Ring just did cheap high power bulbs( I am 35 now ), that blew frequently. Most of their stuff looked and was cheap. I don't know if it has changed but it wouldn't interest me anyway, as I now earn more money than when I was 17 and buy quality gear the first time, rather than after the cheap one died. That might sound big headed but the folk that have met me, know I am not like that. Later Gavin Oh yeah Mark, I got your cheque thanks.

Weitec get my vote. I bought a kit for my C in 1999 and still run it now on my G60 Golf. I got the top adjustable kit. I don't think it is harsh but then I have 15s and 195/50. 17s do make the ride like 10% harder. I don't rate Boge shocks for comfort. I had a kit on a MK1 years ago and it banged and crashed over the smallest of bumps. I just fitted Eibachs and Bilstein shocks to my MK3 16V, the ride is nice even the wife doesn't complain, so it must be good! The shocks are just a touch too soft but I didn't want the expense of adjustables. I would stick with your springs, as you already have them and get some adjustable shocks. Gavin

Ross, If you do a search on loom you can get all the other threads. There was one that had a link to mateymatey with some instructions on it. I am not offended that you want to make your own, if your comment was meant for me. Just think about the turkey my kids won't be getting this Christmas. I don't like paying for stuff I can do myself. It isn't rocket science but Rocket scientists have bought from me! There was someone on here made one from some amp wire he had floating about. They all work the same by missing out the std wiring and routing power straight from the battery to the bulbs. Some will look better than others but still have the same result. Cheers Gavin
-
Have you got a loom already Pete? If you have and need the instructions PM me. Only need a 10mm spanner really. Gavin
-
Bally, Did you get round to fitting it yet? Gavin

Sounds like you need to do some learning Dubprince. You'll save a mint. Is there a college near you that teaches motor vehicle mechanics? Have a word with the lecturers, maybe they'll let the students do it for you, for a 'donation'? I reckon VW would do them for less than £130. Lots of jobs on old dubs are cheap. A full service on my mates G60 C was only £70, well worth that to keep the history looking smart. Gavin

I have covered a third of the rad already but it will be compromising flow through the intercooler. :( Not what I want really. I won't be able to enjoy the extra power  Still going with clamping the top hose a bit. Squish it into a U shape and hold it with a tywrap. Gavin
