I think MK£s are the same. The 38mm ones. There is a bit of messing about if you are putting them on an early MK2 but they should go straight on a C. You can get seal kits for later ones, if you have the time/ability to pull them apart yourself. Gavin

Kev, it's not as lovely looking in the flesh. It has plenty of rust requiring attention. As I am not a showy kind of person, I will be waiting for it to rust through and then I'll reshell it. Much easier! My mate bought those splits at inters last year for a song. I only fitted them to show them off at the club meeting and sell them. Made a tidy profit which more than covered the trip to inters. The steelies came with the car. I had them painted nearly 3 years ago but had to reduce the tyres on my Borbet Cs to cords before fitting them. It looks a lot nicer when cleaned up or in the dark! Cheers Gavin

Here my G60 with the black wheels. Or would you prefer fat splits? Gavin

I find it strange that the pump would stop dead. It does sound that he has done enough to prove the electrics are ok. You could get a secondhand pump from a scrappy. I can get you the number for that or if you do a search you'll find it on here. There is some problems with getting a pierburg pump I believe. Only VDO pumps are available from VW and that would mean getting the matching sender unit. I paid 30 quid for a known good pump from a VR6 Golf for my G60 and it works OK. Gavin

Don't give up dude. Why have they decided its the pump. Could the relay not be the problem or something else? Never start with the most expensive part. Did they do any checks to prove it was the pump? Gavin

Rust is bad news to erradicate. The seams are the worst bit. The boot floor wouldn't bother me. The best way I have seen to clear up the seams is lead filling, after you have sorted the rust and made sure there is no moisture in there. Grinding off the wing side of the seam once you get the back panel out, to remove the rust before welding in the new rear panel is the thing to do. I am not a bodywork kind of guy so you need to trust the advice of whoever does it for you. And don't be too surprised if it comes back in a couple of years. Gavin

I will post the pics as soon as I take them. Probably in the morning after the school run. Gavin

I'd fit the oil cooler at the same time as doing the Charger. You will be grateful of the access. You have and FPR on the list. Are you fitting reds and an SNS chip? Lastly, a 100 lines. 'Profit and G60, must not be used in the same sentence!' Best of luck though. Gavin

It does matter that the relay works every time. The pump should run, everytime the pressure switch senses that the system pressure has dropped. This would usually be after 3 or 4 applications of the brakes. You wouldn't hear it with the engine running. If your relay was intermittent, then I would expect you to have tried the brakes and had a really dead feeling pedal. Gavin

I'd say 2. The ECU relay and the one for the fuel pump. The X contact relay may affect some of the power feeds to other essential systems. It sense that there is a deeper question you need to ask? Gavin

What are you trying to say Henny? (pic to follow so everyone knows what I mean.) Gavin

Yeah, kicking tyres and telling the pilots 'it flew in mate, it'll fly out'!! It is a pity my dubs aren't as serviceable as an A330 airframe. What about your 5 APUs??  Gavin

It is me. Gavin

Baz, save yourself 500 quid plus fitting and leave your lead boot at home. Wearing flip flops instead, should go a long way, to curing the wheelspinning you are suffering!! :D :D :D :D Gvain

Steve, Selca alarms were imported by GT Alarms. Before they stopped trading. I have fitted some in the past. My mate may have the instructions. Their technical helpline number is 01926 435986. However, you say that pressing the button a second time stops it going off. Some alarms isolate the ultrasonics when you do that. I suspect that it could be the ultrasonics setting off the alarm. Get back to me if have no joy and I'll see what else I can find out for you. I live in Warrington which isn't too far if you need another alarm. Gavin

Red tops at 115 quid are a bargain really. Ok you need a chip to go with it but that still only another hundred or so. IMHO its not worth having your std injectors fettled with those prices. Assuming of course you can do the work yourself. Most folk have got pulleys and ported chargers already. Why not go that extra mile :?: Check with Henny the cost of a basic rebuild on a blown engine! Gavin

191 919 051 bm. This number has been deleted and so have a couple of newer ones. That last number ETKA came up with is 1H0 919 651Q which is a MK3 part for the VR and 2 litre GTI. You might have to get a new pump and then check the scrappies for a sender unit to put it in?? Gavin
-
Another look at ETKA, it looks as though you can only get VDO pumps off VW and you would need to get the sender to match at the same time!!! I still think you need to confirm which you have, before buying the pump on its own. Or get a replacement fom the scrappy. Have you tried to monitor the fuel pressure, to see if there is a snag with it, before going for the big money option. Maybe the filter on the pump is partially blocked. It has to be worth having a look. Gavin At work on the 18th so I'll be a late show if I make it. Sorry but still not bothered about the rollers. :)

Be careful with the GSF ones, they may not be the original spec multilayer metal ones... A lot of people bodge the headgaskets by putting a standard 8V Golf one on which won't handle the pressure created by the supercharger... For the extra £10, I'd go VAG every time... Oooh, look, I have both times too!   When I did mine last year it came from GSF, via a well known scource of mine  It was metal as per OE. Unsurprising that the one which failed was from a std 8V. Gavin
-
It would probably run ok. BUT!!!!! You don't want to go melting pistons which WILL happen if you have inadequate fuel for the amount of boost you are generating. Best policy, like Gazza says, is get some bigger injectors and a chip to suit the pulley. Better safe than sorry. Gavin

If you check the top of the assembly on your car. Under the cover in th eback edge of the boot. It'll be marked up VDO or Pierburg. I guess they would judt have whatever was on the shelf on the day. Don't buy one from a VR thinking its better than any other. ETKA says it's the same part number so there can be no difference. Whats up wi your pump by the way? Trying to eliminate snags for the  18th :?: Gavin
-
The two pumps are VDO and pierburg. They are not interchangeable. Want to guess how I know  . I bust the VDO one in my G60 but got another full assembly with sender from Awesome which does replace all the VDO bits. If it helps the same pump and sender are fitted in MK3 GTIs VR6s some but not all Passats, 90-94 they output 4 Bar of pressure. Gavin
