What do you mean by a stage 2? Assuming it's a ported charger, you should be ok with the 68 and a chip. If you do change the injectors there is no need to replace the FPR. SNS do a chip for reds at 3 BAR. Gavin HOW OLD IS THIS THREAD???????

Does the probe you are removing not give any clues? I am pretty sure the black is the signal out which is the violet, the brown probably goes to the grey. the black and pink are the heaters for the probe and I don't think it matters which way round you connect them to the 2 whites. Gavin

wash with petrol and dry with a match

fingers crossed for you. When is he going to get back to you?

There is a fella on vwvortex.com, fastbunny I think his name is, he dowels the crank pullies over there. I don't think you need to replace the crank, I have seen them welded up and filed back into shape before. You could do it in situ and replace the crank seal?? The pulley went on my syncro but once replaced I was happy that the crank damage wouldn't cause any problems. I used a DX bolt to hopefully prevent further issues. Gavin

Who have you got doing the diagnosis Stan?

Which bushes Adam? I have done the front wishbones and the rear axle ones in the past. The hardest part of both is the removal of the knackered ones. Especially the axle ones. Probably the best way of doing the wishbones is to buy new ones without bushes fitted. A bit of grease and in they go. Gavin

I'll testify to the above statement. The C I have is pretty rotten underneath. Gavin

If the crank pulley has moved, that could affect boost readings.. Certainly fitting lumpier cams does. Gavin

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3AIT&rd=1 I am convinced my 62 quider will still be running this time next year. Roof bars and towbar worth 60 quid anyway. Plus it was taxed until feb 06. Downside, it failed the MOT badly on a pair of wipers blades. It has 4 michelins fitted, starts most of the time first turn. I do think it'll be getting a battery or starter soon though. Seems to return mid-high 30s on the run to work. I could get 300 for it all day long or break it. Gavin

They are usually well stuck together. On my Passat I had the blowlamp out along with the freezer spray and a good soaking with WD40. I eventually got it off after a good pounding with a rubber mallet, rocking it side to side. I cleaned it up good style and grease the living daylights out of it for good measure. Gavin

Spend the remap money on a new alarm to enjoy the TB then??

Not much to be had from a VR without spending money on engine modifications first. Big TB and cams etc. Gavin

Don't leave it too late cos I am away for 3 weeks from thursday. If you can make it up the airport it'll only be 10 minutes to do. I'll supply the spanner

Not adjustable.... I would can them if they are your usual garage. The linkages are adjustable. Basically I would follow the advice above as I don't think I could improve on it. I am still not convinced that the lever isn't moving off the end of it's shaft when you go for first. VW have special tool for setting up the cable change and it's linkages. It pins the lever in place while you mess with the gearbox end. Gavin EDIT give me a bell tomorrow morning or thursday and I'll try and fit you in for an adjustment!

You DON'T take that bolt out dude. Just the 4 6mm allen bolts around it. Gavin

The crank pullies are known to fail. It happened on my Passat syncro. Usually occurs after the crank bolt snaps or comes loose. Gavin

1190 is like no boost. About 3 psi..... Big leak, you must be able to hear that lot escape... Gavin
